Great Job!!! I go 220 initially, too scared to go 150!! 😂 for build primer that extra 20 hours is what makes the high dollar paint jobs. Us regular joes don’t have that kind of time. Love the tips and the fact you are man enough to admit where you can improve. Will follow you for that!

Would recommend to wet sand the orange peel later and top coat maybe?

The Green Machine! After all the solvents cure out of the paint, you can try to wet sand out the orange peel if you want.

Yeah. Not a perfect paint job, but not bad. I plan on touching it up later. Need to figure out how to wet sand that 👍

If you sand the high build primer, then wet sand your single stage paint job, most of that orange peel will go away.
@nopoohfan7112 Жыл бұрын
I can see he has a lot of orange peal. I would like to paint my YJ but I do not want orange p. Can you use 2000 grit then use 2k clear coat? I have not done this before.
@bartgoins1782 Жыл бұрын
@@nopoohfan7112 He could have wet sanded most of that orange peel away. Grits 1000, 1500, and then 2000, then buffing/polishing compound. As far as I know, single stage paint like he used, can not be clear coated over.
@JeepSolid Жыл бұрын
Yeah. Need to sand the single stage still. Just tired of sanding. Haha 😂

Hey guy, I really like the color of your Jeep. Can you tell me what the paint code is or the name of the color and the brand of paint you used?
@JeepSolid Жыл бұрын
Sure. I can post a picture on my Facebook page of the paint code. I’m not home for a while, so remind me in a few days if I forget…

How much paint did it take to do the YJ? Half gallon or full gallon?

1/2 gal

Looks good Dale ! I would try color sanding down the road to get a smoother finish , but other than that it looks great and I love the color you chose . Is Sasha's XJ next in line for paint ? Take care and catch you on your next video .
@JeepSolid Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, I see some more sanding in my future. Ugh. Gonna take a break from sanding for a while. Haha

@@JeepSolid I don't blame you Dale . Take a well deserved break .

Looks good. Did you have any issues with paint cracking or chipping on bolts or screws during reassembly? Or did you take any extra precautions to prevent it? I didn't see you doing anything different but was wondering. I had problems with a Jeep I painted where the metal edges of sockets and screw driver would chip the paint on a bolt. I keep wondering if I should have done something different.
