Definitely agree, he could've been this RC-1138-like (Republic Commando protagonist) character whom the 'lower' non-ONI personnel are reluctantly forced to bend and conform to when he turns up. He says little, but what he says essentially trumps all the 'good guy' Marines like "Listen to me, or you're gonna vanish in a week" to show that ONI Spook distaste.

I think Mike Colter was originally supposed to voice Locke, hence why they modelled his face after him, but for some reason, the actor was unavailable when they were about to voice his lines, so they hired Ike Amadi to basically do a Mike Colter impression...which worked so well that no one can really tell the difference.

@@Flufux Mike Colter just wasn't a good voice actor for the role. He was the one who voiced Locke in H2A and you can hear the difference between him and Ike in H5. He's a good actor, just not a good voice actor. You can see some of his motion capture stuff with the other VA's in some Halo 5 behind the scenes videos and he seems pretty amateur compared to the other more seasoned voice actors.

I liked the downtime they had in some of the missions where you can go around and talk to random people, but I wish they elaborated on it more and actually shown what Elite civilians looks like or put in some mini game modes just for achievements or whatever. And I HATED how they had so many invisible walls in the game. Part of the gun in Halo is just exploring and goofing off during missions. They should add more of those moments.

Story wise you’d have no reason to be a promethean because it’s not like the arbiter in H2, multi player, would be interesting but would be hard to implement without making it unbalanced. Since first you’d have to significantly lower health pools on them and second they have some pretty broken abilities that wouldn’t be fit for MP. But that’s if you were a knight. Soilders are just idk, they don’t do anything that stands out really, except scream at you when their armor is broken.

Tim H And what’s not unique about prometheans? Knights can teleport, have a shotgun/rifle arm and a sword that can easily act as a shield as their other arm with pretty unique design. Soilders I can see not being the most unique because they are basically the spartan/elite version of prometheans but the knights are pretty interesting.

Um, Ike Amada didn't voice Locke in the H2A cutscene. That was Mike Colter, the actor who Locke's facial and motion capture is based off of. At some point between recording that scene and the making of the "Traitor" trailer, Mike's voice was replaced with Ike's. They do sound pretty damn similar to one another, though.

The thing that made me mad and is the reason I still have not bought Halo 5 (though I have played and have gotten pretty decent at the game's multiplayer) is the misleading marketing. I was all ready for this hunt the truth premise and Locke trying to track and kill/capture Master Chief. And then all that hype and build up led to a 45 second confrontation where the trade a few punches.

Speaking of warzone, I feel a complete removal of the req-lootbox system would be possible with, instead of using points to buy req packs, one just buys the things they want, with different variants costing more or less respectively.The respawning vehicles could serve as a kind of 'baseline' thing, with point-purchasable vehicle charges being used to either activate the construction yards for vehicles or calling them in via pelican drop, and charges could be either bought in-game or in the menus. Another thing warzone needed was more than just 9 req levels. It stuns me how some power weapons cost as much as a scorpion.

I agree. By doing what he said in the video, you remove almost all of the individual feeling of reward as it’s for the whole team. It also means noobs who camp at base get to use the cool stuff that the good players earned because they’re closer. By making it so you to buy the reqs you want with points and then req them in like you do now, you keep the reward and remove loot boxes. Also, really like your idea of the baseline things. However, I would go further by making it so each map has a diverse pool of vehicles to choose from that is unique to that map and accentuates the good features of that map (maps can have some of the same vehicles, just most have to different). Also, having various power weapons placed sparsely around the map would also be cool e.g. a sniper rifle that spawns in a vantage point looking at a base so that one team can get it and snipe the enemy base.

@@val5756 The problem is the Halo trilogy was successful because of a series of thoughtful design decisions - to which 343 promptly shoehorned in kill streaks, kill cams, load outs, sprint etc. I'm not opposed to advancing Halos formula, but it should have been done more gradually with logical design reasons.. not just to blatantly rip from COD.

EXCELLENT video. There were good points and improvements, just mixed in with the rest of the game. On the point of H5's forge, I tried to get used to it but couldn't fully do so. I feel like I need a class on how to use it. I'm used to H4's forge, which to me felt much more easy to pick up and start messing around with in terms of manipulating objects and even just moving around as the forge monitor. I did need some help learning the finer points of H4 forge that I hadn't yet discovered, but I feel I was further along in H4 just by my own efforts than I am in H5's. Yes, of course I could just google stuff and watch tutorials, but I don't want to have to do that to learn most of the mode. H5 forge has definitely got the options and yields fantastic results, but the controls were just off-putting to me.

Halo 5, I loved the gameplay and mylutplayer. The Campaign felt it could of had potential but just missed all its points. The acting were all good and the graphics were clean. My only complaint of Halo 5 was the story and how many modes there was for multi-player (which was fixed. 343 is the company that listens to the fans. An example where a bad story took away from great gameplay is The Last of Us part II. The only issue with games such as Last of Us part II is theres no multi-player for players to escape the bad story mode like Halo 5.

343 did have a reason for cutting splitscreen. I had the opportunity to talk with some employees through a friend. one worked on campaign and the other on multiplayer, particularly warzone. 343 had every intention of including splitscreen, and cut corners graphically to achieve it, but if 343 were to include splitscreen in halo 5, they would need to recreate the physics engine (made to be locked at 60 fps to actually utilize the 60 frames, which with splitscreen would limit the game to 30 fps) as well as severely hinder warzone. Warzone would have no AI, and half the amount of vehicles it currently holds. I'm no 343 fanbo, I have a lot of gripes about sprint and such in halo 5, but there is a reason behind no splitscreen. honestly I've got no idea why 343 has such an issue being transparent in their announcements with things like splitscreen.

I actually grew to appreciate the new spartan armor (now hear me out) I by all means don’t prefer this armor art style over the originals, however found that it had (from a story standpoint) built an image or reputation for itself for the newer generations of Spartans. It had become a part of my head canon that Spartan 4’s were as fast and more agile as Spartan 2s were strong and disciplined. That is not to say that a spartan 4 would destroy spartan 2s infact I think quite the opposite, but I like the idea that the newer Spartans are better at some things that perhaps older Spartans are not and vise versa. I believe that the cruel and immoral depths ONI had to go through to acquire Killing Machines shouldn’t be brushed aside, it doesn’t feel right to think that the newer Spartan 4s are the exact same if not an improvement over Spartan 2s and 3s. (TL-DR) I think the new armor of halo 5 including the art style have become the symbol of the Spartan 4s as the classics have to the Spartan 2s and the Reach armor to the 3s

Hello The Act Man! Before I begin, I have to say that I was a part of people who thought you were toxic, feeding a community of fans staying living at the "bungie period". When I discovered your channel, it was with the part 1 of your "Why H5 campaign is so bad?". I did not agree with everything but I found the video well made. This feeling was also reinforced by the fact I did not begin to play to Halo 5 at Day 1 because of my studies so, a lot of bugs you were talking about were already fixed so I did not have the same frustration you had when I played my first Halo 5 game. But then, you see, you needed only one video were you say good stuff about Halo 5, only one, and now I like your argumentation because, even if you continue to say bad things about H5, about the 343i's decisions, I now you can find good points, and not only focus on the bad aspects. Now to answer to the question you asked in your video, I really enjoy the REQ system. I am a huge fan of Collecting Card games like Magic: The Gathering so I just can't dislike this system. BUT I think it can be improved like, I don't now, keeping this system for the Warzone and Firefight but go back to the old system for the personnalisation. Or, an other alternative would be keeping the REQ system as it is now but adding a new armor category (like, I don't know, "War Trophies") that only can be unlocked with citations and success. I honestly absolutely love the Halo 5 multiplayer and all the updates that came with it along with the forge and I actually never really knew what was so bad about any of it. Like with the whole Req pack deal: I never cared about that! I just thought, “hey If someone else wants to buy their way to fun, that’s fine. I will just play the game without buying anything and earn everything without buying my way into it.” You know there’s a really cool feeling when you become better and unlock everything in the game, without buying anything. I'm just gonna say it: I like the _concept_ of Cortana becoming the antagonist. Now before you scroll past this comment, hear me out. While Cortana's death in _Halo 4_ served as the catalyst for hands-down the most emotionally and intellectually engaging story in a _Halo_ game and her return in _Halo 5_ ruins all that, 343 having the balls to kill off perhaps the most beloved character in the franchise was commendable in an industry so notoriously risk-averse, and their having the balls to turn that same beloved character into a villain is also commendable simply for what a genuinely daring shake-up to a series that has lost a lot of its energy it is. What's more, while the depiction of Cortana's rampancy in _Halo 4_ works insofar as drawing the parallel to human dementia and other real-world mental illnesses that 343 intended was concerned, it falls out of line with the more unique and fascinating concept of rampancy that had been established in both the _Marathon_ series and ancillary _Halo_ materials for years and years before _Halo 4_. I know the way the writers wrote Cortana in _Halo 5_ was meant to be an in-character action for her that "isn't evil, it's just something we don't agree with" and how profoundly wrong that all is, but if you pretend that she's doing what she's doing in _Halo 5_ because she's crossed the line all the way into rampancy (which is the stance 343 seems to be taking toward it after the universally negative reaction Cortana's portrayal received; I think they announced in a Waypoint post that the original Cortana really did die at the end of _Halo 4_ and the one in _Halo 5_ is merely one of her rampant personality fragments), it fits the established story material much better than _Halo 4_ and serves as an interesting place to take her character. _Halo 5_ Cortana is everything players liked about Cortana as a character, but corrupted; she's using her smarts to take control of the galaxy for herself rather than devoting them to helping the Master Chief save it, her mutually beneficial devotion to Chief has turned into a mutually unhealthy obsession, her insightfully witty quips have turned into psychological attacks against Team Osiris, and so on. From a character standpoint, Cortana as a villain could have been the shot in the arm the _Halo_ series needed. The problem is that the writers didn't bother laying any of the groundwork necessary to _earn_ such a massive character shift, so the entire house of cards wound up collapsing in on itself, and it's truly a shame.

Yea but the problem is Cortana being an ai in the middle of space and getting destroyed while already giving up most of her fragments during halo 4 makes it very very hard to bring her back to life. Your going to have to collect all the dragon balls to make that one piece of fragment come to life. I would've changed the campaign quite a bit, mostly telling the story from Chief's perspective (or at least half of the story, not three missions) and probably wouldn't have had Cortana in the game very much at all. I would've made a new villain, and really changed the story. I do like the idea of chief getting chased by Locke though, I would leave that in but Locke would have a different reason to chase him instead. I wouldn't have changed the multiplayer too much, even though it isn't classic halo that I like, I understand that if halo wants to survive, especially in the competitive market, it needs to change. Not completely, but it does need to change. I personally like what 343 did with the multiplayer (for the most part), but the campaign was a pretty big let down.

Something I want to add to warsone is a “Reinforcement” system. Kind of like the thing with the pelicans bringing in vehicles, but they bring in marines with different weapons and speciality (Assault, defense, anti-vehicle, etc.), and they can bring in vehicles with a few marines to man the gunner or passenger. You can always have a teammate get on, and the marines follow you around, and you can command them like you could with Osiris and Blue Team in the campaign. You can assign them to locations to defend, send them to get in a vehicle, attack a location, etc. To me, this sound pretty cool.

I don’t think that getting random weapons while playing war zone would improve it. I think it would make it worse. It takes the annoying rng from the req packs and makes the game entirely luck based. Let’s say one team gets a Scorpion and the other a wasp. And if your getting stuff for the whole team then it never feels like a reward. The players carrying a team will be out there fighting the enemy, the pelican comes and drops off the weapons and the noobs get them. It wouldn’t be practical. I’m thinking keep the req stations and either keep the req packs (not monetised) or let you buy the REQs you want with req points.

the DLC revives the community like doctor shouting clear and shocking the heart to beat a couple more times. And then the novelty wears off and we're back where we started. Halo 5's population is bad, especially in comparison to Halo 2 and 3 and Reach

The dlc were nothing but content that should have came out in launch😳 every other halo game had those features so those dlcs were more of a cheap way of saying here buy this unfinished game for $60 and be fooled with all thr micro transaction rng process so we can complete our game by the end of the 9 or 10th month this game has been out for

one thing i didnt notice until i saw cortana in this video near the start, but i really like, is how they made cortana look like shes wearing something instead of being naked, its a SUPER small detail but i like it, 2:21 for anyone who hasnt noticed yet and wants to see it for themselves

Lol, I love infection! There was a time where I came 2nd with 7 infections and virtually no survival kills, mainly because I got a ton of points killing the last spartan standing. And yeah, constructive criticism is one of the best ways to give feedback although not everyone does it. I do it quite a lot.

Some of the small details I loved was reloading animations being shown with different points of view, games like COD would have like the same reload animation for all of the weapons (from others pov) but when you reload a SPNKr or aim with a light rifle. You can see the little details from others watching you.

I didnt get to play the multiplayer, but when playing the campaign I loved the new movement and mechanics, except the squads, they needed work. But the spartan abilities in this game and movement in general, it's the first time I felt like a Spartan super soldier. I know this is years late but hey better late than never
