wow. I fixed on before. but it was the little wires. i wasn't about to try the big wire. congrats for fixing the battery. $$savings.

Never head a lead get off. Corrosion on soldering, cells running empty is what my main problems are with lipo's in wet invironment. Threw away 6 lipo's last year or so. It were all the older once i had quite some years. I always try to find whats wrong but so far i didn't think it was worth the risk trying to fix it. I've experienced some shorts so i know how much power is in them. A 5mm screwdriver is gone in a second, that's how much power some off the packs have! So i try to stay away from messing with them to much. I get your trying to repair a good and quite fresh pack, but oh man, could end in disaster also...

I have saved quite a few doing similar but I find if your soldering onto a tab that has solder already there like for a balance lead it works fine. Hey mate did you take those photos of the plans to email yet.

To me that positive terminal (Al) looks to have a spot welded tab on it. Unless it ripped off when the wire separated

Yeah, i believe the main positive wire was spot welded onto the tab, I soldered the other side because the tab was longer than the spot welded tab area.
