I went through a similar thing with looking for places for 5 weeks until I finally got a place that was perfect for me. I would recommend trying to apply to landlords directly (through Gumtree, Facebook marketplace or private listings) rather than through a real estate agent. Establishing a personal connection with the property owner can help if you are not the strongest applicant on paper. It really sucks how they will prioritise those with certain incomes or jobs, but the property manager who helped me get my apartment said that high income doesn't mean compliance with the rental agreement! You are intelligent, kind and have a wonderful vibe and any landlord meeting you would be thrilled to have you and Olive as a tenants. Your strength and bravery is inspiring, as I know how scary and stressful it is to be in a limbo of unknowns- especially coupled with a breakup. I feel like the universe is holding out something amazing, and it will happen soon ❤ Sending the biggest hug from Australia ❤

You need a frosting spatula. I use them to get the plant out of terracotta pots by gently sliding it down the side of the pot. It makes it sooo easy when they are stuck!

For the rental: bake a cake and take it to the viewing- I know it’s effort but you’ll stick in their minds and more likely to put you forwards for the rental or they’ll feel guilty eating it. The plants are stunning! And ignore that 0.01% as they’re not worth listening to. None of us are entitled to an opinion on your life anyway, but know that you’ve got so much support behind you and we love your content!

Your stress and concerns are so valid. As someone who was in a similar situation a few months ago, I can confidently say that what helped me (emotionally) most was surrendering the situation to the universe. I stopped myself from worrying and obsessing, and took it one day at a time. I knew when something felt right I follow it, and if it was something I was rushing, it never worked out. Unsolicited advice to you is to have patience, and as hard as it can be, trust that you will find your place exactly when youre supposed to. Thank you for sharing

I think its very brave of you for sharing these personal aspects of your life but know that even if some people are asking you to share parts of your life you don't feel ready to, your community of supporters won't be upset if you say I'm not ready to share or just not talk about different aspects of your life you're not willing to share. I bought my house as a single woman, got a 2 bedroom and I asked my father to live with me. 4 years have passed now and he's still living with me and I'm married now lol. Don't feel in a rush when you get a new space to make it a "home" right away and spend a lot of money on things you might not need. 4 years later from moving in and its still a work in progress and my pets, my plants, and everything else just eases its way in to building a home.

Here in Australia we. Are having a rental crisis too. The property that my son and I lived was sold. We had to move our furniture into a storage unit and was homeless for about 3 weeks. It was really hard. I have 2 dogs and a cat. Happy to say that we just kept applying and finally found a rental for us all. You will find somewhere fantastic soon.
