I’m Fern! A 20-something gal living on beautiful Vancouver Island, Canada with my partner, our 2 dogs, and around 200 houseplants. Plants have changed my life - I love tending to them and sharing the joys and discoveries of my planty journey online. I am passionate about all things living and I have been vegan for over 5 years - it was the best decision I’ve ever made. For those into astrology, I am a gemini sun, scorpio moon, & libra rising. For the rental: bake a cake and take it to the viewing- I know it’s effort but you’ll stick in their minds and more likely to put you forwards for the rental or they’ll feel guilty eating it. The plants are stunning! And ignore that 0.01% as they’re not worth listening to. None of us are entitled to an opinion on your life anyway, but know that you’ve got so much support behind you and we love your content!

Oh I feel ya, in my town there’s literally 20 apartments available and that was last week so Im sure its dwindled, so many students coming in, and my rent just went up almost $100 and I’m working my butt off to make it, feeling like I have no down time cause it’s constantly stressed about one thing or another, you are not alone! I went through a similar thing with looking for places for 5 weeks until I finally got a place that was perfect for me. I would recommend trying to apply to landlords directly (through Gumtree, Facebook marketplace or private listings) rather than through a real estate agent. Establishing a personal connection with the property owner can help if you are not the strongest applicant on paper. It really sucks how they will prioritise those with certain incomes or jobs, but the property manager who helped me get my apartment said that high income doesn't mean compliance with the rental agreement! You are intelligent, kind and have a wonderful vibe and any landlord meeting you would be thrilled to have you and Olive as a tenants. Your strength and bravery is inspiring, as I know how scary and stressful it is to be in a limbo of unknowns- especially coupled with a breakup. I feel like the universe is holding out something amazing, and it will happen soon ❤ Sending the biggest hug from Australia ❤

Your stress and concerns are so valid. As someone who was in a similar situation a few months ago, I can confidently say that what helped me (emotionally) most was surrendering the situation to the universe. I stopped myself from worrying and obsessing, and took it one day at a time. I knew when something felt right I follow it, and if it was something I was rushing, it never worked out. Unsolicited advice to you is to have patience, and as hard as it can be, trust that you will find your place exactly when youre supposed to. Thank you for sharing
