I literally never ate any of these foods as child (except the instant noodles and cereal) but my nostalgia was 100% activated by that rainforest cafe shirt! I used to love that place as a kid but they don't have it where I live anymore. I love adding veggies to my instant ramen but I've never added tofu, I'll have to try it next time. Looking forward to part 2!

Emily!! If you have Aldi where you live they do their own brand of Pop Tarts called Top Twists and they come in chocolate or strawberry with frosting (idk if that's the same as icing cos that's what I call the stuff on the top of the pop tart) both of the Aldi own brand flavours (at least in the UK) are vegan! my fave flavour is the strawberry one 🍓💚 the ones in my shop are in the cereal/bread aisle so I hope that helps!

Love these videos! ❤. You mentioned you liked the Taco Bell quesadillas; I loved those too when I was vegetarian. The rad thing is that the jalapeño sauce they use in the quesadillas is Mayo-based not dairy based so it’s super easy to replicate if you have vegan Mayo, pickled jalapeños and some spices! Question: does Scentbird allow you to filter options by vegan and cruelty free? I love the idea of trying a small amount.

i don't remember a lot of the things i loved to eat as a kid but something i was *obsessed* with was every time we had pasta, i would ask for an extra serving of just the tomato sauce in a little bowl. i then would dip slices of cucumber and grapes into it. i literally have zero explanation for it but man, little me had a great time

Casserole - whenever I make something and it’s bland/dry I just make a really flavorful gravy and pour it on top when serving and it almost always saves it 😂

The unfrosted poptarts made me laugh because for some reason, as a child unfrosted strawberry were my GO TO. I never ate frosted poptarts because I genuinely preferred plain. I also loved plain strawberry Eggo waffles with just butter. I definitely was not a sweet tooth child!

i really feel like this channel can’t be considered anti-diet with all the emphasis on “healthy” foods. do we have to categorize food at all? saying healthy instead of good doesn’t change the fact that you’re saying some foods are better than others. it’s just food.

Starbucks used to use Carmine / Cochineal Beetles to dye their stuff red, supposedly...i don't know if they still use it...Google says they don't...But your strawberry syrup looks like it might be dyed, so you might want to check with the company, or any company that dyes anything red, and ask them if they use that....❄

Also, it's surprising that no, or hardly any, company came out with vegan pop-tarts...i miss them...When i was a kid in the 1970's, a couple times i bought something called "Breakfast Bars"...They had chocolate on them and the inside was a type of granola, but not exactly, or cookie type something, and they had chocolate chips in them, and they were really good, and i miss them, but may never know the ingredients...i think the brand 'Carnation' may have made them, but they discontinued them...There was also something like a pop-tart, but it was shaped like a spiral danish, and they were also good, but discontinued...Once in a while my mother use to make "Tuna Noodle Casserole," which was good, and i think 'Hot for Food' has a recipe for it, but you have to buy all the ebooks or something, which i can't afford, but it would be nice to know how she did it...🌞

this is true but also groceries are expensive as hell right now so honestly a lot of my purchasing decisions are based on whats on sale or at my local grocery outlet like i wouldn’t normally buy Pillsbury products but i bought those biscuits cuz they were 4 for $1 because theyre expiring soon & the taco bell shells were also super cheap from grocery outlet
