I really like this guy. I’m a first time Toyota tundra truck owner. 2019, max crew cab, limited. Drove it off the lot already lifted. I know nothing about trucks, just always wanted one. Wife and I saved up and found this one and loved it. I’m educating myself now on everything I can about this truck. Thanks for the great advice and information. I’ll keep checking in and check out your other post too. You made me laugh! Great sense of humor. Thanks again!

Hey. I’m 67 years old with 2007 tundra on 33s and leveling kit. I don’t feel old and I hope when you’re 67 you’ll laugh at what you said now. But I thought just like you when I was younger. I like what you’re doing with your truck

Thanks for watching the video, man. I think that you misunderstood what I said. I wasn't making fun of a senior driving a lifted truck. I used it as an example of how people of all ages, ethnicities, and genders drive these vehicles now. (Go back and watch it again ... it's not a diss). I was impressed by it.
@jtroi5523
@jtroi5523 Жыл бұрын
@@toyotaFANatic81. I didn’t take it as a diss at all. I often think how I would look getting out of a 6” lifted truck at my age even though I love the way they look. It might even be comical watching me try to get in. I was trying to say over the years your mind doesn’t change much. What you liked in your youth you’ll probably still like when you’re older.

Got it 👍🏾. That's good to know because I can see myself tinkering in my garage very late into life. This project has really grown on me. Just like you, I won't care about what anyone thinks of my truck. They're our babies and we're the only ones who need to like them. Thanks for sharing your perspective. Sorry about MY misunderstanding of what you wrote. Thanks for checking the video out. Much appreciated!!!

Point 6: one thing I did on my truck that stopped tailgater is putting a tow hitch on all the time. Cut the tailgater in half. I cut that number more when my bumper had a dent and I put a stick on that read "my truck:3 / your car:0"

I went from a 97 civic to a 12 tacoma 4 door longbed with a 3 inch lift running 33s. The mpg, the turning radius, and the power change were all things that took me a bit to adjust to. But I love it and am way happier with my truck than my car
@toyotaFANatic81

I haven't driven my own car in a LONG time (my last 4 vehicles have been trucks and SUVs), but I definitely notice a HUGE difference from my wife's car to my truck. I actually like them BOTH. They're different in good ways. Funny thing ... they both have 400 hp, but hers is geared for speed, while min is geared for hauling. Congrats on your Tacoma!!! Your set up sounds good!!

Not sure how this came up on my feed but I have a 2020 tundra TRD sport I use it to tow a 24bh Jayco and I love it not sure I would lift it cause I wouldn't want to affect the towing and this beast has no problem with 7000 pounds I live in RI and I have gone everywhere from Texas to the keys to all the way up to Maine and this tundra has beeny favorite and for a half ton very powerful love the 4.3 axle gear ratio definitely needed for towing.. but I did subscribe and I like the tundra so gonna check out what you got going on

@toyotaFANatic81 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for subscribing, man!! HUGE help! Definitely don't change your truck if it's already serving you well. Tundras are work-horses. I never towed with it. I used the box and cab for moving equipment in my previous career. TONS of space, as you already know. I'm in a different career now, and I no longer need a pickup or an SUV, but I'll never change back ... and the truck is a project now. Thanks for your support, man.

@toyotaFANatic81 3 ай бұрын
What's happening, man?!? I blacked out the Platinum emblems myself: - Lightly sanding the badges (800-grit) - 1 coat of primer - 2 coats of base (black sand pearl) - 4 coats of acrylic clear coat I'll be re-doing them after 2.5 years, so I'll be putting out a video on that soon. Tundra needs to make a diesel half ton
@toyotaFANatic81
@toyotaFANatic81 6 ай бұрын
I agree with you. I'd buy it!! The thing is that Toyota has stated in the past that they do not want to compete with GM, Ford, or Dodge in the diesel truck market (not in North America - they sell diesel engines abroad). It's a shame because I'm sure that Toyota would create a great mass-produced diesel engine for its pickups and SUVs.

The new Tundras are better trucks overall (more power, high pay load, more fuel efficient, better creature comforts in the cab, etc.). As far as the appearance, I like the truck overall, but I'm still getting used to that front end.

Dude America's tiere Co does it for free if u buy tieres from the balance and rotation. I had toyo's on my 15 f250 with a Carli pintop had them rotated every 5k even wear all over. Didn't notice any power drop but it was a diesel
@toyotaFANatic81
@toyotaFANatic81 Жыл бұрын
Free balance and rotation??? Yes, please!!! You're right about diesels retaining most of their power after a lift with bigger wheels and tires. Those engines can handle MUCH more of a load than gassers. Thanks for supporting the channel 🙌

@JJ-uz9vc Жыл бұрын
@@toyotaFANatic81 but seriously America's tiere Co does balance and rotation for free. Ohhh they also do free tiere repair on flat tires. At one point they charged you a repair fee then after that it was free or something but now I think they are back to free repairs even though you didn't buy tieres from them it's weird. Hope there is a location near your spot.
