I really appreciate this video. Everyone in my family is very fertile so I just assumed I would get pregnant first try too. Nope. No one knows we're trying so I feel alone. My husband has been very supportive and reminding me it might just take time, it's still hard not to feel sad though. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm pregnant (even though for all they know I'm still on birth control) which makes it even harder on us. Everywhere I look there's baby this and baby that. All I've ever wanted to be was a mom... I fear infertility. This is the encouragement I needed, and the reminder to keep enjoying life outside of trying to get pregnant. Going to try to take a break from baby stuff for a while, and gonna take a break from negative pregnancy tests...❤️

My husband and I have been trying for several months. All my friends have kids, work colleagues who married after me now are pregnant or have had a baby, and I'm always quietly (thankfully) expected by both our families to get pregnant already or very soon. It sucks. I almost just want to have a baby just to not feel left behind or to make sure I'm not infertile. And it's sad because I know that me actually wanting a child is a small portion of wanting to get pregnant. But the biological clock is ticking right. Thanks for sharing your experience on here, it feels less lonely to hear ur story 💜 I wish you all the best in ur life. I hope u and hubby stay healthy and happy.

That is what happened to me...got pregnant at our first try. I think mostly because it was spontaneous and I was not stressed out or pressuring myself to have a child. Basically, during sex, we decided this is the time! It was very in the moment and emotional but also we did think about having a baby for months so this time just felt right. I think it is important to get pregnant when your relationship is in a great place and you feel connected and loved. I got pregnant and remember the exact day it happened and pretty much right away I knew we conceived. I have 17 more weeks to go with our healthy baby girl.

My hubs and I made a solid attempt at making a baby. I took an early pregnancy test after my 1 day late period on our anniversary. It was negative, so I said yes to a glass of wine. Several days later, I was feeling “odd” and still no period. Next test said pregnant..... next time I will skip the wine until my cycle, but luckily kids are pretty sturdy and my baby came out fine.

This is so true, thanks for sharing! We’re ttc month 4. I do little videos on my phone where I just talk to myself about what’s going on when I need to- just like you said: you need a space to brain vomit. I started charting in the third month and upgraded my cycle app to a premium version and it’s really helped me understand my own body and I’ve found it helps me rationalise my expectations. However I have seen a lot of women on that app who seem to be increasingly „crazy“ about symptom spotting ect just like your example and it’s definitely not healthy:/ hope everyone whose ttc gets their healthy baby. I just keep telling myself that it will happen when it’s time :)

Infertility isn’t THAT common🤨🧐 Also, most forms of modern birth control are highly effective if used correctly as per the instructions. However, there’s a reason they list two different %’s of effectiveness on those charts at Planned Parenthood. Missed birth control pills, unintended patch removal, torn condoms, drunk/high sex, etc. Look into reproductive coercion as well. So many factors as to why so many unplanned pregnancies occur. It’s not just due to unprotected sex.

I honestly don't know if this was just a coincidence or not but when we started trying two months ago, the first month I stopped drinking coffee and that month my cycle was crazy weird. My body set itself up to ovulate and then didn't untill 5 days later than usual. Then the next cycle I had my morning cup of coffee each day and my cycle got back to normal 🤷♀️ since then I'm going a lot easier on myself with what I can and can't do.

The only issue I’m having at the moment is a friend of my husbands and I keeps telling me it’s perfectly ok to have some alcohol when I’m pregnant....? I’m refuse because first off, I’ve never even really cared for drinking, and second off, I’m pregnant. She tells me all the time “I would smoke and drink sometimes while pregnant and he’s fine”. It BLOWS my mind that someone would do that knowing they are pregnant. But as soon as I color the ends of my hair, she tells me husband “she should not be doing that”. There are some crazy people in this world and I don’t want to be rude to her or her husband but sometimes I just want to say “I am not risking my pregnancy like you decided to do”. Did/does anyone else have an crazy stories like this?
@FemmeHead5 жыл бұрын
How interesting! I know people who didn't know they were pregnant and drank/smoke, and their kid turned out healthy and fine. And I've heard that a little alcohol is fine, but I'm just not interested. I've already made it 7 months, I can handle a few more. But I wouldn't smoke (normally either) and it's always crazy to see pregnant people smoking on reality TV shows (I'm thinking of one about young moms in England). I had a lady at the airport critiquing me about drinking coffee, and I was like "Listen here, I get one cup of coffee a day, this is that cup, my baby is fine."
@MaayanLovesUnicorns15 жыл бұрын
FemmeHead exactly! I have coffee once in a while and my OB has said that is totally fine. And I’ve also heard of women who didn’t know they were pregnant have some alcohol and their baby was fine. I think it just bothers me so much because they continue to offer me alcohol when I’m not interested and I continue to say that it’s probably not the best idea to be taking shots and having hard liquor during pregnancy, and I’ve already had some issues (which have been resolved) with the baby (he is 100% healthy 🙏🏽). I guess everyone runs into some crazies once in a while 😆 but the same people judge me for coloring my hair and say that it will harm the baby 🤷🏻♀️ to each their own I guess!

I just did a search, seems like there are a few studies showing that marijuana use may delay ovulation, possibly by affecting LH production amongst other hormonal effects. Weed tolerance could decrease this effect, and timing probably matters.

All of the ob/gyns I have seen have told me it's possible to come off the pill today and get pregnant almost immediately, like within the 1st month. The older you are and longer you've been on the pill it can take a little longer, a couple of months or so. It all depends on you and your body since everyone is different. But it is possible to conceive right away.
