Goku did not teach Gohan SS2. It was Gohan who showed Goku how to SS2. So what makes you think that in an alternate timeline created by Black that Gohan can't reach SS3 without Goku's help? Gohan is literally the first ascended Saiyan. If he did it first once before without anyone showing him how in the main timeline, he can do it again as SS3 without anyone showing how in an alternate universe. So basically, right after SSJ2 Goku beat Goku Black in the main timeline, he got sent back to the future timeline, then made another parallel timeline in order to become stronger, and then this happens. He returns to the future timeline stronger than ever before, and is ready for Goku, Vegeta, and Trunks. That's why he was significantly stronger after his battle with Goku, and he was able to contend with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta in his base form. Great animation dude this is so awesome

Black then vanish in front of Gohan, absorb the Kamehameha into his hands again, vanish behind Gohan, fire the Kamehameha. This make Gohan unaware of the Ki blast before which is still behind him, which would have staggered Gohan for the Kamehameha to hit, had him not been quick enough to fly up to dodge.

He got to the point pretty fast of not even needing SSJ to mess him up; he was in Rose constantly to test it out and get fully used to the form. He barely even needed any of its real power against Trunks; he just messed around to try and hope Trunks could get strong enough to in turn push him further. Besides, this takes place after the fight with SSJ2 Goku from the looks of it, so he's gonna be strong enough to take on Future Gohan pretty easily.

Tirasangue I talked about this with my brother recently. What we think is that the limit Gohan had was on instruction and advanced training opportunity. If the lookout was gone and Bulma couldn't stay in one place long enough to build a gravity chamber, it may have been difficult for him to break past his limits. The biggest hole in my opinion is that Bulma, while INVENTING TIME TRAVEL, never made a small space ship so Gohan could go to New Namek and ask Dende to use the Dragon Balls.

Goku Black never gloated about being a god. The "Fool! I am a god!" isn't something Goku Black would say. Also he's acting too much like Zamasu. Zamasu also asked to take Goku's mind as well, which turned him into Goku. He should be acting more like Evil Goku, like how he was in the anime.

Actually before Zamasu arrived he acted like him. Saying that Vegeta and Goku could never understand the beauty and perfection that he set out to acquire, he's almost just like Zamasu except the saiyan cells want him to continue fighting.
