What if a Giant Asteroid Strikes Today

If the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs strikes today, the results would be devastating. It would produce an explosion billions of times more powerful than all the nuclear weapons on Earth combined. A monstrous crater, perhaps hundreds of kilometres wide would be formed, releasing a huge amount of energy into the atmosphere. The initial impact would also cause widespread destruction, with tsunamis, earthquakes, and wildfires sweeping across the globe. This would cause a global climate change, with temperatures dropping and the atmosphere becoming filled with dust and smoke. The prolonged darkness, similar to a nuclear winter, would inhibit photosynthesis thereby triggering the collapse of food chains. Our bright, green world would turn dark and grim, and many animals and plants might not survive, just like the dinosaurs.
So NASA is actively working on developing a planetary defence system to protect us from asteroid impacts.

Jebus Christ on a bike, such naivety. WTF makes you think that a massive asteroid strike will change the fundamental behaviours responsible for the shity side of humanity? Not only that, but if you think that one sixth of humanity would survive such an event, you're off by many orders of magnitude. It would kill off at least 99% of people worldwide over a relatively short period of time. Anything bigger than your average dog would be toast, and even most species in that range would be history.

Leave us out of it.the filth lies in people with no morals or values. Or even the holy spirit in them. That's what you get removing the prayers from schools replacing them with darwinism and evolution. Teaching kid your sexual tendencies. Fluttering in the breeze, the gay flag. Teaching kid immortal subjects. Humanity has nothing to do for the state you are in. You are not doing the things that are moral and beneficial to one another. We are devided between good and evil. Mortalities are the key factor to piece and faith. There is peace love and harmony. Not in temples or in a human environment. It's called nature. The peace in your life comes from within. Not outside. If the light insides you shine, nature will bring peace harmony to your home and the one you love. There is nothing for you in a man made environment. You are all burning up and imploding inside out. 🤗 those that find peace live a life others can only have but dont. If they have no soul of there own they will move in on someone else who does. That's dangerous. 🙂

Actually.... before the dinosaurs were the Masters of the Universe, marine life and insects reigned supreme.....can you imagine a spider as big as a dog or a millipede as big as a school bus? Dragonflies had 20 ft. wingspans....the reason for this was because the oxygen levels on Earth before the dinosaurs was very very high thanks to all the flora covering the planet. Then there was another mass extinction (there have been 5 in Earth's history) via a very large volcano that erupted deep in the Earth's crust that wiped out most of those species. Once the Earth finally started to recover, oxygen levels decreased a bit and reptiles became king. Insects and marine species started to evolve into smaller and smarter species groups to evade the large reptiles that had taken over. The most amazing thing about our planet is its ability to rebound, remodel, remove and repopulate. ❤

Those asteroids would cause these nukes to go off and do even more damage than the asteroid did to the dinosaurs

Revelation says that we are definitely getting an asteroid. “And I John saw something like a great mountain burning with fire and it was cast into the sea.”

Also when the brightness of the asteroid hit us we would go blind and our bodies would sizzle and become transparent. Also after some times the clouds would rain acid

This project by NASA is much more important and practical than "climate change".

Climate change is not a "project," and stopping our destructive habits are MORE necessary. An asteroid may hit Earth tomorrow or never. It is 100% guaranteed that we will hit a point of no return very soon, if we haven't already.

Hate when a meteor strike this scale is compared to a ‘nuclear winter’ when our existence is only of a blip in this universe’s timescale.. we should be comparing nuclear winters to meteor strikes because they are the norm !

It would be my first time trying H, and I’d buy as much as I could afford. I ain’t going out in a horrible death to an asteroid, I’m going sleep and not waking up again.

Even worse. The impact would cause a reverberation through the crust and mantle, then cause patches of magma to come out the other side of Earth hundreds of miles wide. Deccan Traps formed by the last one are in India since it was lower back then. Today if it hit Yucatan, it would create a large landmass in the Indian Ocean, east of Indonesia. (Antipodes) are cool to look up.

Anything happens to me today even without a asteroid hitting this planet I wouldn’t want to come back to this present planet here.
