In Revenge of the Sith, Anakin is allowed onto the Jedi High Council, but is not granted the rank of Master. If Anakin didn't take a seat what would happen? Would the Jedi try and deescalate the situation? Or would Anakin become too much for them to handle?

I really don’t think that Anakin was in the wrong. It’s like if you’ve met a qualification to be promoted at work and they fire your favorite coworker then use that as an excuse to give you the responsibilities of someone who has been promoted but neither the pay nor the title of that position (pay being getting into the archives and title being rank of master). We all know we’d feel the same as Anakin and I honestly would have less respect for someone who got shafted not speaking up for themselves

Disagree. What happened is much more akin to a CEO of a car company using his influence to try and get his favorite professor tenure. It doesn't even matter, at that point, how much promise you show (or not, imo) ... no one who received tenure under those circumstances would ever have the respect of his peers, and I'm sure that's exactly why Palps made that move. If Anakin gets made Master bc of Palp's request, it would forever be tainted. If he doesn't, well, we saw what happened.

Training a padawan to knighthood is the requirement for becoming a master, but because Ahsoka left the order after being tried for a crime she didn’t commit, Anakin was not allowed to become a master after having gotten the qualification. Whether Palpatine tried to influence it or not isn’t important, he still did what he had to and was denied the rank of master on a technicality

But given his general behavior, an abundance of caution was more than warranted. I wouldn't have let him on the council at all in their shoes, and told him my reasoning. I think the mere fact they did let him on, hints that they were open to him being a master eventually, but on the *order's* terms. Like after completing an "orphaned" padawan's training postwar, perhaps.

If the Jedi council trusted Anakin more I think things would have ended up different. Anakin's impatience and the council's lack of trust in Anakin were what lead Anakin to fall to the dark side. To be completely honest... how much patience does one have to have before a love one perishes. How can one remain calm and balanced when the people you love is actively in danger. Both Anakin and the council have their faults and short comings. Anakin should have come clean but to what cause... being kicked out of the council for being married to Padme. He will only have the dark side to turn to from that point on to get the knowledge and power that he seeked. Some on the council were Ignorant and others were arrogant.

I'm no jedi myself, but I don't believe loved ones being in perceived danger gives you a blank check to do anything and everything. Nor do I think you need to be a Jedi to see that. The council could have been better with him, for sure. Wiser. They could have done more, but imo, that would have looked like sending him to a therapist, and decreasing his resposibilities until he wasn't breaking under the strain. Let's be blunt, if you put Obi-Wan, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, or Ahsoka in Anakin's life, we would have had a different outcome. And that's okay ...really, people don't have to have the kind of moral strength these characters do. But that doesn't make Anakin less responsible for his choices. It means he should have never been given as much responsibility as he was, he should have been a politician's pretty (and slightly himbo) husband, flyboy, and stay-at-home dad, because that's clearly who he was meant to be. And he would have been a lot happier.

I agree that Windu is better than other Jedi at holding Anakin accountable. Unfortunately, I also think part of that is indeed about Windu’s arrogance. He doesn’t think Anakin is fit for the Order, and any behavior Anakin exhibits that confirms that perspective makes Windu a little - just a little - smug. He’s a prideful Jedi. I think where people get him wrong is that they think the pride and arrogance is personal, and it’s not. Windu isn’t a *self-centered* Jedi, his pride and arrogance are all about his very idealized image of the Order and its service to the Republic. He believes that being a ‘proper’ Jedi is the only way to show respect for what is to him the highest calling possible. And Anakin represents all that goes against that. Unfortunately, Windu can’t see the flaws in the Order, and therefore can’t see the flaws in himself, that contribute to Anakin’s behavior (not to take any accountability away from Anakin’s own petulance, that’s real too). If he had a less idealized view of the Order, and a less rigid view of what constitutes the ‘right’ way to be a Jedi, then his respect for Anakin as a warrior and fellow Knight would be more evident.

I completely disagree with Anakin being in the wrong especially after what the clone wars showed us with Asoka. You have to train someone to knighthood to be a master but after the counsel was tricked about the bombing that could never happen for Anakin and mace didn't care that they made a clear mistake and pushed another person from the order he couldn't even bring himself to apologize. After the masters showed that a kid with attachments was not welcome and once he finally was he was treated like an outsider until he started winning them battles pretty much everything Anakin did up until order 66 makes sense especially being upset about not being a master on the counsel

Tbf anakin wasn't entirely wrong that he should have been granted the rank of master. Ahsoka had been recognized as worthy of the rank of jedi knight, and once a padawan graduates their teacher is granted the rank of jedi master. So he really did meet all the requirements and his promotion was long overdue. She only refused her promotion and instead left the order altogether because the council lost her trust, due to their actions following the temple bombing. And probably more importantly their later refusal to own that error in judgment, instead trying to sweep it under the rug as past events being 'the will of the force'. Maybe the glass was half empty after all. x'D Before watching the clone wars I really didn't think of that scene as anything other than the council following standard procedure and rules, but from anakin's PoV it was probably more akin to pouring salt into an old wound.

Anikin never thought about it in a positive light. Sure, only Masters were ever on the Council, but Anikin, even though it was a result of someone else's plot, he was a Knight, and granted a seat on the council, an unparalleled first. the first knight on the council, genuine bragging rights, something his ego would love.

The thing was (and the movie didn’t really explain this at all, but the official novelization did), it wasn’t a pride issue for Anakin. I mean yes, he obviously felt humiliated at being the first non-master on the council, but the main reason he wanted to be a master in the first place wasn’t to stroke his own ego, but to gain access to the restricted Jedi archives to find a way to protect Padme from the visions he was having. In general, the book maps out Anakin’s rationale a lot better than the movie, it shows how it came from a genuine place of love and not just “moar power”.

The only is that I feel that Sidious would have attempted to execute Order 66 in order to create a chaotic diversion, and attempt to escape and falsely claim it was a coup/ assassination attempt. As a punishment to kcaj and tiin for drawing a blade in a council meeting, I think they would be sent to either kashyyyk as you did for tiin, or utapau to fight gg with or without kenobi or kolar(not fisto, he would be most necessary only if grievous was hiding in a watery location where fisto would be at his pinnacle) anakin to stay for his own punishment on temple guard duties. I ultimately think sidious would win the duel even with yoda there, and even in losing, order 66 would still be enacted, a fail safe in place maybe with an agent having access codes, sly Moore or tarkin possibly- hundreds of clone squads killing hundreds of Jedi and forming resistance strongholds and pockets while the droids are mostly shut down as planned. Cinder happens, legions come out of exegol- unknown to the Jedi, sidious secured funding and the set up of a secondary republic armada should order 66 not go according to plan or he dies, which was in the works during the last decade. While not as huge as in rise of skywalker because less time passed, they are more than enough along with clone remnants to pose a real threat to the republic which is illegitimate and treasonous to them, and they want to set up an empire. I think the next step, just to make it interesting, the Jedi leadership meet with the acting chancellor and they offer leniency on prison terms to the separatist leaders, if they start up and reconfigure their droid forces to fight on the republic side.

No matter what alternative scene anakin always ends up bring balance to the force so I think with maul being the only sith while in hyperspace he finds a way to escape and kills Tano and brings the ship out of hyperspace , goes into exile gathers up all with sith artefacts and holcrons, and grows tremendously in power on the same level or slightly below his former master , he takes control secretly of the seperatist army by recruiting one of the separatist leaders who managed to escape Kit fisto legion , secretly grow the seperatist army in the unknown regions with mass production of battle droids while taking care of crimson dawn , he would create a plot which would destroy the Jedi , by staging a fake SOS signal which would draw out key individuals from the council and it would blow up killing some council members he would capture kenobi and torture him until anakin felt it in the force , being that maul killed lots of Jedi at this point anakin felt drawn to save his friends , anakin and maul would engage in a fierce ferocious and close duel , however since anakin grew in thr force and grew calmer and more in tuned with the force , he would be like qui gon Jin persona and he would use mauls arrogance against him and he get the final blow ending the galaxy tryanny of the sith
