The only alien Ben has with a direct interaction with mana that I can think of is Terraspin. Of course, the alien who took over the realm of magic seemed to be a member of that species, so definitely substantial potential for mana shenanigans in that regard. For less direct mana interactions, maybe she could turn into an alien with energy beams like Chromastone or NRG, and her attempt to fire off said beams would result in her firing mana beams as well, since that'd be something akin to muscle memory for her when trying to blast things.

I suppose Hex's plan with the fountain of youth did get thoroughly trounced by baby Heatblast that one time, so even without further lore reasons she'd have good reason to recall the "going supernova" moment. That said, I'd imagine there is probably something deeper to it than that. Maybe related to her rock creatures and Heatblast being made of rock? Or maybe its a fire thing allowing for greater flow of energies.

She wanted to funnel her powers through heatblasts body to burn salamass (I think that's the place the ep was set in) To me at least it seemed like the aliens gave her magic additional affects so in theory a Telekensis spell would additionally set the item on fire as an example.

I get why this one didn’t get a full breakdown but I’m sad it didn’t. There’s plenty to talk about this episode not just from a comedic and entertainment perspective but also a philosophical one. All throughout the episode while Ben is fighting the weapon master they have a debate on the ultimatixes functions and uses as both a weapon and device for peace. As Ben points out we’ve had other characters who have wanted to use the Omnitrix as a weapon before but thins is coming from someone who actually does make weapons for a living and Ben is suppose to be the byproduct of what the Omnitrix is SUPPOSE to be used for so we end up with philosophical battle on the practical uses and functions the Ultimatrix can and should be used for.

What I really like about this episode is that it really doesn't happen for the sake of happening but there's a reason behind it. The Techadons were built up as early as season 1 of AF and Ben & co. have destroyed quite a few. And given Inspector 13's being here, I guess he wanted to make it personal.

One of the reasons this episode actually works is because of it taking place during UA's run. Remember the Ultimatrix is essientially scrap pieced together with a FEV function slapped on. It beigg as easily hacked as it was here makes logical sense giving that Albedo built it in a cave eaching chili fries. Add in the fact that it shows Ben as himself, Both Gwen and Kevin's adaptive abilities and it puts a unique spin on things. To everyone saying 13 had the means to be a major villain, the Techadons are no more villains then Argit ever was because of the Lore. They are the truest of neutrals, only caring about making Weapons, having no attachment to whether those weapons are used for good or evil. They'd sooner sell some tech to The Plumbers as well as Vulcanus making it work.

I think the idea of the trio switching powers could be an intriguing way of acknowledging their flaws. First switch could be Ben with Kevin's powers, Gwen with Ben's powers and Kevin with Gwen's powers. Ben only uses Kevin's powers to rush into combat, and since Kevin can regenerate (The Purge episode) he thinks he'll be fine, not understanding that it can take a lot of focus and still be painful to unprepared users. Gwen is a bit smarter, but since she's never used the Omnitrix, she's not totally sure what to do, she remembers the aliens and their powers and wants to better implement their powers but she doesn't quite think through how many complexities go into the uses of certain powers. She's like a driving student who knows all the rules and procedures but lacks experience and can easily crack under pressure. Kevin has a better understanding of Gwen's Anodite powers as they've grown closer, but the magic is very confusing to him and he's afraid that he could become addicted to the energy absorption potential. Second switch could be Ben with Gwen's powers, Gwen with Kevin's and Kevin with Ben's. Ben may not know magic or Anodite abilities but he does have a better understanding then one would think and this is an imagination-based power, he can't focus it all that well but the constructs are still dangerous before they explode. Gwen finally gets to use her martial arts skills but in superhero combat she's grown accustomed to long-range fighting and wants to fall back on her normal techniques, but she does implement new tricks like a morningstar/flail attack. Kevin is like a kid in the candy store with the aliens he can use, and he does have decent knowledge of the aliens from his travels and from the mutation, but he's trying to hold back as he now has the full powers, not a 10th like he was used to.

This episode really proves to me that the Ultimatrix is ultimately inferior to the Omnitrix. Sure it has the evolution function but that’s about it. It has none of the security features that the omnitrix had. It didn’t even have any safeguards against taking it off when the plant aliens cloned Ben and stole it. (Not to mention Albedo first removed it by pressing a button, no codes or commands.) It also doesn’t have the ability to repair damaged D.N.A. And let’s not forget the sentient Ultimates glitch. The fact Albedo didn’t turn himself into a Cronenberg monster when he first used it is a miracle.

There’s something I instantly thought of when rewatching this episode recently, particularly a line from inspector 13 “You, Human Osmosian Hybrid, will be used to recreate materials for the Techadons.” This line stands out for two reasons 1. It further shows that the osmosian retcon in omniverse is complete bullcrap unless you accept the headcannon that the retcon was caused by Alien X messing up things when recreating the universe as Inspector 13 clearly stated Osmosians are a separate species from humans and knows what their powers can do despite Kevin’s power’s supposedly being one of a kind 2. This idea was used by Zs’kayr in Hedorium to Eternity

I wonder if this episode was inspired by the movie "Ben 10: Destroy all aliens" where Azmuth and Ben´s parents are turned into aliens (into another kind of alien in Azmuth´s case). The fact that they also didn´t have a different appareances despite the fact that the series has shown both of them looking different while transformed into aliens in the past was also pretty annoying. And it was such a missed opportunity to not have the omnitrix affecting Julie as well. It would´ve been cool to have her join the action as well without the need of using Ship.

What do you mean "never been in"? Both Gwen and Kevin turned into Omnitrix aliens in the OS, and Ben has had to fight without his before.

My theory is that the Ultimatrix master control function is not properly finished or perhaps Albedo was not able to correctly make this function usable well that would explain why he didn't use master control to unlock a Galvan form and why he just hoped that Ben's database had a Galvan form.

in universe they are turned into ben's aliens, last i checked, is cuz the watch misidentified gwen and kevin as both being ben, do to the tampering and then overloading of the device

I have a feeling when Ben was trying to transform it looked like Diamondhead Hologram was going to be used because who ever Gwen turned was supposed to be the Aliens Ben turns Into.
