I think it would be cool if he still wore a black lightly armoured suit with one of those masks that cover the bottom half of his face, so it will protect his identity but you can still see his eyes which, I think, are the most intimidating part of his face when he taps into the darkside.

@@mish2637 idk if he would want to protect his identity, though, because Palpatine’s original plan was for Anakin Skywalkwer to be at his side as a tool to help the takeover flow better and to help people to fall in line during the big transition from “Republic” to “Empire”. He knew he had to play that move very carefully. That’s why he spent all that time building Anakin up as a hero during the Clone Wars, and even then he manipulated situations to keep Anakin out of danger and had him be in right place at the right time to build him up to be the “ultimate hero” (since Palpatine essentially controlled both sides of the Clone Wars, he knew when to place Anakin where at any given time to have the best results. He helped make Anakin a celebrity that the people loved, and when he turned him, he was going to cash in on that and take advantage of his celebrity and hero status with the people to rally them behind the Empire. He could have eventually worn a mask but I don’t think Sidious would have wanted that. Sidious had to create a last minute plan B when Obi-wan defeated Anakin on Mustafar. With the chosen one broken and more machine then man, he has to switch up his tactics. He originally planned on using the Anakin’s hero status to rally the people and I’m not exactly sure if he was planning on having their identity as Sith Lords be out in the open, but I think he might have taken that step, had Anakin not burned. Idk about that part, though, I’m only speculating there. I do know he was going to use the hero worship and the people’s love of Anakin as a tool and had to settle for using “fear” instead. Palpatine was a psychopath, but he was brilliant, and he knew what a gift he had with the chosen one by his side. I know people would have gradually come to fear Vader more and more everyday, but Palpatine’s preference was for the chosen one, the People’s hero, to be standing by his side when he addressed the senate and the galaxy during the big transition. He planned on having Anakin “reluctantly” speak against the Jedi..that’s why Palps tried to hype Anakin up so much among the people and downplay the other Jedi. There is a reason Palps built him up as the ultimate hero of the people. I LOVE Palpatine...I think he is brilliant, cunning, patient, and the greatest villain in the history of villains. I don’t think he gets enough credit for his brilliancy. JMO 🤷🏼‍♀️ They touch on some of this in the RoTS novelization, if I remember correctly, and there is an awesome KZbin video on this very topic but I don’t remember who made it. Maybe the Lore Master.

he was offered a suit upgrade but it was declined by vader. In the end vader and plaptine both didnt want to give him new lungs and a suit. the suit caused his dark side powers to be stronger and his burns and his body fueled him with hatered to obi wan. If he were to get new everything he would slowely forget all that obi wan did and thus not have a person to hate. He would then become weaker and maybe transfer to the light side

The Suit Vader wore would poke and prod him, causing pain which in turn brought about Anger- The Source of Power for The Sith. The Suit would inject small doses of Pain Medication to make Him more Comfortable, but (I think) Palpatine disabled it to inflict Pain to make Vader Stronger. The thing you have to take into account is, the Empire..technically was still the republic. When Rome transitioned from a republic to principate It's not like your typical Roman felt they were under some new power. Only the senate really experienced a change here as they no longer had any "real" power. The reality is, under the empire...most people's lives WITHIN the republic now empire probably didn't change at all.

In Kylo Ren's case, it's because he wanted to look like grandpappy Vader. In the case of Vader, his choice of apparel probably wouldn't have differed too greatly from what he was wearing before he was put in the suit. Maybe something a little more ostentatious since he represented the Will of the Emperor/Empire, but nothing so immobilizing as the armor and respirator. He took pride in his fighting ability before, and I don't see him CHOOSING to make it strenuous.

Yea I agree the moment he knelt in front of sidious he was literally no longer anakin. Right after he caused the death of mace there was a moment when he said "what have I done" and then after pleading for sidious to help him save padme, vader took control, he still had anakin's face but anakin's personality had retreated deep into the subconscious. So Vader was the one who attacked the jedi temple, vader was the one who killed the younglings, vader was the one who force choked padme, and vader was the one who fought and lost to Obi-Wan.

One thing you are forgetting. While Force users might be okay with the whole redemption story, I don't think the trillions of other beings traumatized by Anakin's rampages would be so forgiving. He would still be responsible for the death of MILLIONS if not more. People would still want justice. This need for justice was the most pressing reason people joined the rebellion in the first place. I doubt they would just en masse say, "Oh, so he changed sides? He's no longer evil? Well, I guess I can forget about my family he had killed then. Sweet".

I think it would of taken a different path because Luke would of been defeated on the Death Star and on cloud city because he was more powerful leading to the sith ruling or leia finding her true power with the force then leading to the defeat of Darth Vader and palpatine.

No anakin couldve killed palpatine if he didnt have the suit..therefore avoiding all of this..i believe he wouldve went back to the light since padme was already dead and he had no reason to stay in dark

It's my obsession to see a Star Wars "What If" series in which Darth Vader never burns on Mustafar. His former identity as Anakin Skywalker being known across the entire galaxy, and how some iconic scenes would have played out, such as when he meets and kills Obi-Wan in the Death Star, or when he tells Luke he's his father, and also the famous Rogue One hallway scene. Since he wouldn't be wearing the suit and mask, we'd be able to see his face and expression of hate and anger. We tend to think of Vader as a different character to Anakin (even though we know they're the same person), but having Vader with Anakin's face would be so impactful because we'd be shocked to see the change from Anakin's happy smiley face when he was with Padme and Obi-Wan to Vader's angry evil twisted face when he is working for the Empire. In the original timeline all we see is a mask, so we can't see the emotions on Vader's face. And Hayden Christensen is a great actor. He did a superb job in Episode III, but we see very little of Vader before he burns. I think fans deserve more of that. If I were Disney, I'd seriously consider making a What If series about this and hire Christensen. And I'd go for the scenario where Vader ends up overthrowing the Emperor, but only by the time Luke is an adult and Vader has already offered him to rule the galaxy together as father and son. Till then, I wouldn't change much of the timeline. Anyway, I love your videos. I really like how you empathize with Anakin/Vader instead of judging him like others do. I can totally relate to him. He's one of my favorite characters ever.

The biggest difference, I think, would be Vader's self-image. He would still see it as possible to live some kind of real LIFE. Yes, he would have cybernetic limbs but those could be concealed with clothing or upgraded to look more human. He would still fundamentally be a handsome, vital young man. Yes, he would mourn Padme and his children, but he would probably over time move on, and consider finding love again something that was possible for him. This would be a Vader who could drink and fuck and generally enjoy the perks of being the second most powerful man in the galaxy. In short, he would have less reason to be a singleminded obsessive who only cared about revenge and power. And with those options open to him, he wouldn't have the same mental blocks limiting his potential, the same incurable self-hatred. He'd have killed Palpatine and become Emperor years ago.

i think that (theoretically along with this video) luke and anakin’s new jedi order would have focused more on acknowledging your emotions, rather than bury them deep. to think about what they meant and how to calm yourself and focus on the task at hand. all this being because anakin would have realized why he turned to the dark side (i think it was bc of his built up emotional trauma and damages and obi-wan having him bury them)
