There's 2 sides to every coin. On the one hand, It would be great if the negative connotation that's currently attached to furries would disappear, but on the other hand a part of what makes the furry fandom great is the sense of community which is amplified by how independent from the outside world it is. It's about being part of a small (comparatively) group that only the people who are a part of that group truly understand. Having the fandom become mainstream would kind of ruin that

Personally I like things the way they are right now. Hatred towards the furry fandom is quickly dissolving and we’re not known well enough for your typical Joe to know what you’re talking about. I want things to stay this way and continue on with the self sufficient economy. For furries, by furries! 😁

Yup! I'm glad that most of the furry hate has been dying down in recent times, and I'm hoping that it can dissipate even further still!

I ABSOLUTELY want the fandom to become mainstream _enough_ for me to freely express myself instead of closeting myself like a queer person... Being bullied online for a hobby is so detrimental to one's mental health... Someone on Twitter was paid to bully furries until they committed suicide. That's how bad the bullying is. Fortunately, I told this person that what they were doing was horrible. They apologized to me in private but that doesn't really excuse the fact that they didn't stop talking to that person or that they wanted money for DLC 😐 Still, an apology is better than nothing... I shouldn't have to hide out of fear...

The Egyptians were some of the first furries to exist, notice how a lot of their paintings contain anthro humanoid animal characters? And a good portion of their gods and goddesses are technically furries... "Baast" is one example.
@sorensky56923 жыл бұрын
And there's also tons of other instances of anthro animals throughout history! Like a ton of other mythologies out there, and its all pretty interesting to see

Here you have to stages of how to turn into a furry. 1. You get it randomly on your recommend or have heard about it. 2. You investigate (and this is usually where it starts) 3. You find out what it is and think ’wtf, why would you ever want to do this!’ 4. You discover the furrywar is and say to yourself ‘i belong to the gamers’ 5. You get bored on certain days and become curious and just hang out on furry videos. 6. You comment anything to get furrys attention 7. You start to understand furrys and enjoy talking to them 8. You subscribed to furrys And then you come into the part of your life where you have to decide what to do with the furry fandom; 1. You are going to save for a suit,2. You are going to draw it(or create a fursona),3. You are going to make animations or,4. You are the kind of person(like me) that is like ‘it’s cool, i just don’t do it’ And for the non furrys that are exploring: if you don’t want to be one, STOP EXPLORING. The deeper you go in the fandom, you can’t go back. Believe me I noticed that too

@woutmaggen3 жыл бұрын
@@blue_ivez2222 don't worry, I get what you mean. I have that too, I don't care if they call me a furry, they can decide if it is appropriate or not an insult or a compliment. It doesn't matter to me, but a furry has several definitions (an anthropomorphic animal anyway) but when it is pronounced on the definition of a human it generally just means someone who likes such animals. and whether it changes something in your life, you decide, just be yourself others have nothing to say about what you like. a wise saying says "they laughed at me because I was different, I laughed at them because they were all the same”.

The cost of fursuits and art would skyrocket because of supply and demand. Hotel rooms at cons would be a major pain in the tail to obtain, they already are at some cons like Anthrocon and MFF. The fandom has already been mostly ruined by the influx of these sjw snowflakes in the last five years. Its to the point rude humor is frowned upon already, imagine that rude humor in the furry fandom is bad. Furries don’t ruin everything, snowflakes ruin everything.

@sorensky56923 жыл бұрын
Well technically we see furrjes walking around the streets everyday! 😆 (But I assume you mean seeing more fursuiters in public, lol) Its more so that people would know more about furries and knew what furries are, so they wouldn't be as confused when they see someone wearing a fursuit walk down the street 😅

The furry fandom is not the only fandom widely seen through a different negative light because of a minority The car community usually does not go at full speed through a busy road sideways while revving their 90s Honda civic with a fart can and cardboard body kit louder than a lawnmower and ramming ford mustangs into the nearest crowd. like furries don't constantly have fursuit sex (the only reason car guys are accepted is fast and furious so mabye we should make a furry movie starring vin diesel about someone trying to steal dvd players using the furry fandom as a cover that eventually goes to disregard the laws of physics.

I don't think that it's a good idea for the furry community to became mainstream. Maybe you don't remember but the negative reception of the furry fandom started because of the burned furs, furries who wanted the fandom to be clean. They went forth and exposed the sexual side of the fandom to the world, which created this negative stereotype. People on the mainstream started to think that all furries where this way, when just the minority is. If furries where to became mainstream... It fame would became 100% more negative, people tend to judge large groups of people by looking at their worst examples. Expect yourself to be throw in the same bag as the most sexual deviants of the fandom. And any argument that not all furries are that way would be meet with a wall, with people believing that you are just arguing that because you are one of said deviants. Humans are moral narcissists, there is no escape, you would find yourself under the weight of society.
