I agree everyone would be worse off. Except maybe Vegeta, but he wouldn't get enough of a improvement to make any real difference. I'm far more interested in Trunks training with Piccolo. Even if Trunks and Vegeta did spar a little, there was absolutely no mentoring going on. Trunks remained vastly inexperienced and had to learn by watching/sensing Vegeta from afar. Getting mentoring from Piccolo (the guy who mentored Trunks' mentor) would have given Trunks a massive boost, not only in being able to harness and control his own power, but having a much stronger sparring partner. Remember; Piccolo was the strongest by a mile pre-RoSaT thanks to Kami. Piccolo would've gained a massive boost too by having a training partner. Possibly putting him on Mastered SSJ Goku levels (or possibly closer to Perfect Cell). Since, by going into the RoSaT solo he managed to be around Vegeta and Trunks' post-RoSaT level anyway.

Yeah Goku was pretty confident in his plan with Gohan but the recovery part was actually in his plan too and he's right even real life fighters and body builders know you can't just go 24/7 you'll actually end up doing more harm then good. I mean Vegeta and Trunks both went in for a 2nd day but due to not giving themselves time to recover from their first day they still end up falling short of Goku and Gohan's less then 1 year trip. I think Gohan n trunks training could help Gohan(obviously not greater than him training with Goku who has more experience) but being informed from trunks about his timeline and how everyone died including Gohan’s future self would awaken a bigger motivation to win and even finish off cell after transforming(compared to the original beg for mercy result…plus trunks doesn’t believe in stalling) I feel it’d still work out if Goku and Gohan went in a few days after so Goku could see the results of training with trunks and sharpening their skill before the Cell Games(which Goku could focus on he and Gohan perfecting SSJ and Goku possibly unlocking SSJ2)

@@sonkarnegious6207 Well, to be fair, Trunks WAS alone the second time, and he might as well have been the first time, considering how much Vegeta ignored him in there. But I actually think that eleven months or so with teen Gohan and Future Trunks might be the most interesting part of the saga. In addition to Gohan showing Trunks how to sustain the Super Saiyan form indefinitely, there would have been a HUGE opportunity for growth as characters. Trunks could get to know Gohan as he was before the apocalypse, and eventually get over the guilt he felt from the death of his mentor. And Gohan would get to learn about his future self and avoid making those same mistakes.

Great what if! I think the only thing would be this: if Goku had came to the conclusion that mastering the initial transformation was the key to truly passing the SSJ wall, wouldn't he have told Gohan/Trunks that as he was leaving the RoSaT? If he did, there's a chance Gohan and Trunks could have both got pretty close to SSJ2 before leaving the chamber (depending on how quickly Gohan reached SSJ).

My question of Gohan making Goku stronger in the Time Chamber, they had three years to train for the Androids yet really were not that much stronger than Mecha Frieza. There has to be something else about the time chamber that Gohan & Goku go to new heights and I do not think it was the lack of Piccolo. Yes, I get Super want to go it is like training on Beerus planet but that is just dumb of Super.

I think it was the mindset Goku had during the train for thr Androids he thought like Trunks 3 years would be enough only to see Piccolo and Vegeta get beaten by the Androids and even after recovering from the heart virus Goku didn't think he'd fair and better. So he said we need to train harder than even and also because they saw what the Androids were capable of he felt they had an idea of what to shoot for when before they really didn't.

Again Super changed that but that is BS, cause the way it changed it means Goku would have died in that room in DB and maybe at this time in DBZ. Theory: Vegeta and Goku would become stronger but it would come at a cost: Brutal training and death of a rivalry. Vegeta is a warrior, not a Tournament Martial Artist, and he fights to the Death. Without Senzu Beans, he is more brutal on his body, than Goku is in his training. He is also not used to restraining his punches, as he was slaughtering entire Worlds since was a child. We NEVER even see Vegeta train with Nappa. In fact, we see him training alone, being interrupted by Nappa. I think Vegeta and Goku would have dyed that plane in blood, transforming it from endless white, to red. The two would fight until near death, recovering, then fighting again, for the entirety of that year... Trunks is also Vegeta's son and the ONLY person who could cause Vegeta's fists to be restrained. Even then, Vegeta never actually fought with Trunks. Maybe, it is because Trunks is an adult (warrior age). At that age, Vegeta probably believes that you should train yourself, relying on only yourself. Evidence: He later teaches Young Trunks, becoming his only teacher. Alternative: Future Trunks was already trained by Gohan, formally, so Vegeta saw no need to train him, as his Master.

There's a possibility that theory could be good since they'll still have that rivalry to try getting stronger than the other but them spending a year together would definitely allow them to fight more helping Vegeta mellow out a bit plus by the time we get to the Buu Saga, Vegeta wouldn't have allowed himself to be taken over by Babidi due to Vegeta and Goku's relationship during that 1 year time chamber training. Plus I can see during their time in the chamber, Goku would ask Vegeta to train his sons especially Gohan if something bad happens in the Cell Games, just imagine how strong Gohan and Goten would be if Vegeta with the help of Bulma asked Chi-Chi to let Vegeta train her boys whilst promising to get the best tutors to tutor Goten and Gohan at Capsule Corp, plus Goten and Trunks would be around each other a lot getting stronger together whilst getting to play with each other, Gohan could also help Bulma in her workshop, lab and indoor zoo getting more experiences but still have Gohan go to the same school just like in Canon but unlike in Canon, not only has Gohan continued his studies but has kept up with his training with Vegeta since Gohan would have spoken to Vegeta and Bulma about creating a schedule to balance studying and training, it would also be for Goten and Trunks but mainly Goten since Bulma would know that Chi-Chi wants both her sons to be well educated

Vegeta’s character was not developed enough in that arc to even consider training with Goku. His grudge was too strong, especially considering how the Buu saga unfolded with him and Goku.

I would say that by the time Goku sacrificed himself at the end of the Cell Saga, Vegeta's grudge had already transformed more into a friendly rivalry: he just couldn't admit it to himself until he had fought Goku again after he became Majin Vegeta and had to confront his true feelings. A staple of Vegeta's characterization is that he is tsun who is constantly in denial while his character develops and changes. What he will admit to with words always lags behind where his actual interests and values lie. Which means, he was already reluctantly in a rivalry with Goku in the Cell saga, otherwise he would've hoarded all of the time in the time chamber to himself, let Goku die of heart disease, or done something even more drastic. Beating Goku at any cost would've been the old Vegeta. The Vegeta who believes in a fair rivalry would give his rival an equal chance to train under similar circumstances, because it wouldn't feel right to win otherwise. With more pushing or under different circumstances (like Trunks or Gohan being killed) I think Vegeta would've trained with Goku, but it would've been much more competitive than cooperative, and probably not how he trained with Trunks. By the end of the Buu saga, Vegeta had already come to terms with his place behind Goku, so the Buu saga is kind of the arc where he lessens his ego, and his rivalry turns to admiration and acceptance of his place as second strongest (at least initially until Super caused character regression). The thing is that between the Cell saga and the Buu saga, Vegeta probably had a lot of time to think to himself about his relationship with Goku and the rest of the Z fighters and obviously he was able to settle down with Bulma, had a clear respectful attitude towards Gohan, and obviously felt regret about not being able to challenge Goku again upon his death, so he had to do soul searching about his purpose. His perspective must've changed a lot.

What? Vegeta got grade 4 after the 2nd time around. The only reason Vegeta was weaker than Goku after they both exited the chamber was bc Goku outsmarted Vegeta here. Vegeta was the first to think of ascending but he fell short bc he did not think to achieve grade 4 aka just mastered the regular ssj state. He just mastered grade 2. He achieved grade 3 at the same time he achieved grade 2 but it was useless. He remained weaker after going in the 2nd time, simply bc he did not know how strong goku was. He thought gokus max was around half of his strength when he powered up at korins tower. He surpassed that n that’s why he was confident he was stronger than goku n cell until they got serious…well until goku got serious.

You’ve seen them train tg before n seen them grow in strength at a rapid speed so if they trained tg here, they would’ve no doubt unlocked ssj2. Gohan slowed down Goku’s training in the beginning. Idc what potential gohan has. He wasn’t even close to Vegeta’s strength when entering the chamber. If they trained tg, they would’ve unlocked grade 2 n 3 even faster than they did n got to grade 4 sooner than Goku n Gohan did, n went from there.

7:17 - I think this tells us that mastered SSJ (referred to as G4 for simplicty) is stronger than SSJ Grade 2 or SSJ G3. Even with the ability to transform into G2 and G3, mastered SSJ Goku at 50% (which he isn't aware of) is shocking Vegeta. That sort of despair and anger is related to the fact that hes inferior in every single way. It's expanded on in the anime where Goku is 101% confident he would beat Vegeta, and tells Vegeta that he "Is far above" him. Vegeta dosen't seem to be like "I could probably overpower him" or ever points out a specific stat is lacking, he just outright accepts that Goku is superior, at 50% power.

Many comments stating they would achieve ss2 easily and even master the form to turn into ss3, my take is Vegeta ends killing Goku or vice-versa when defending against him, remember this was the fast to piss off Vegeta pure Evil Heart, not as evil as Namek saga but still with grudges against Goku. Also If this scenario happened Tien and Piccolo would be killed by Cell, and Gohan training with Future Trunks would be two Inexperienced fighters staying on the third grade super saiyan assuming they achieved surpassing the Super Saiyan form like Trunks did on the main scenario dragging Gohan along.

Three things. 1.What would of been interesting if Gohan and Trunks had train and also gone in 1st. I don't think they would of let Cell absorb 18. Might not get a Cell games. Trunks would of train Gohan but probably not as good as Goku. Probably the second best trainer at this point for Gohan. Remember Gohan trained him in the future and so he would not have any problem training him. 2. If Goku trained with Trunks instead (most unlikely scenario). How strong would Goku and Trunks be? Gohan would got less out of training with Vegeta might of learnt some skills that in the current timeline he would not know. Overall he be worst off with Vegeta. 3. If Gohan train with Piccolo instead. How powerful would he become? Would Piccolo seen the same potential as Goku? I mean in the saiyan saga he saw it and so he train Gohan. Also remember Gohan is older and so would be more likely to push himself. Plus Piccolo was the strongest at that point before the time chamber. The only problem Piccolo is not a Super Saiyan and so could not help Gohan in this area. So that is why I rated him as number 3 behind Trunks for training Gohan.

One thing to add is that unlike gohan, Goku and Vegeta are going into the chamber already as super saiyan and if Goku dose his grade 3 power up and learns mastered super saiyan. I feel Vegeta will copy it to stay ahead of Goku, and them to alone would have fought multiple times maybe leading to Vegeta being more mellowed out. Them two sparing for 1 year would be kncking on the door of super saiyan 2. What do you think on a what if Trunks begs Goku to go back into the time chamber to teach Trunks mastered super saiyan after sensing his 50% how strong would they both be even if Goku leaves early having enough of the taxing nature of the chamber.

A fun video though I disagree on part of the video but not all of. The first I think Goku knew by this point he could trust Vegeta, he wanted to beat Goku and prove he was stronger not kill Goku. Goku knew how Vegeta felt about Frieza and his henchmen and seeing what Vegeta did to the Ginyu Force Burter, Recoome, and Jeice which was outright kill them when he had them at his mercy. Vs when Goku was suffering the effects of the heart virus and a beating from Android 19 yet Vegeta tossed Goku to Piccolo so he could get better, so at this point Goku felt he could trust Vegeta enough not to kill him. Know I think Goku chose the pair ups for the Hyperbolic Time Chamber to get a maximum effect not for him or Vegeta but for Gohan and Trunks. If Goku and Vegeta trained together for a year I think more than likely they reach a Grade 4 Super Sayian by the end of the year if not Super Sayian 2. Because they both would reach a Grade 3 Super Sayian but would see the limits of it and try to go beyond which they would do for sure and given how competitive they are with each other we'd see them reach Super Sayian 2 by the end or duringthe Cell Games one of them would reach the battle when all hope was lost. But then there's the matter of Trunks and Gohan now they both could train together in the Time Chamber and Gohan could possibly reach Super Sayian with Trunks help but Goku didn't see Trunks getting to much stronger as a result of that pairing, which would then leave Trunks timeline Androids that Goku knew Trunks wouldn't be able to beat on his own so Goku and Vegeta would need to travel to the future to help him not of like the Goku Black arc in DB Super. But then there is also the situation of if Goku was gone or left who could protect the earth because Goku felt all this trouble of Frieza, the Sayians, and Androids was all caused by him so after Cell whether Goku died or lived he planned to leave for good which meant Gohan would need to protect the earth but Gohan needed to be strong enough and that's why Goku wanted Gohan to become stronger than him. So whether it was Goku or Vegeta chances are the outcome of the Cell Games isn't different it's just one of those two and not Gohan, but then they'd have to rescue Trunks Timeline as well instead of Trunks doing it on his own.

Ok before I watch this just wanna say Goku and Vegita did train in the time chamber during the cell saga just with their sons not with each other that's how Gohon became the ascended super sayin 2 to defeat Cell. Goku's plan was so basic it was genius to train long enough to be able to maintain super sayin base form indefinitely like it was second nature and increase their physical stamina so it wouldn't put so much strain on them when they needed to go beyond it and get stronger. After trunks and Vegita went in first Picolo went in and used his triform to split in to 3 and train by his self then Goku and Gohon went in, and well Vegita and Trunks took a second turn Goku and Gohon did a regiment of 3 days of rest on the outside 3 days of training and 3 more days of rest to be ready for the Cell games when it happened.

If we're talking Golu and Vegita training together with vegita's ego he probably would've treated it more like a full on fight to try beating Goku and kill him which means they would've been full on focused and going all out Goku probably would've probably taught Vegita the ko ken technique and they probably would've pushed each other to reach super sayin 3 and yes if Vegita would've sucked it up and swallowed his pride and worked with Goku he would've most likely made it to super sayin 3 and perfect form cell wouldn't have had a chance against Gohon and Goku would've defeated him and destroyed android 17 and 18 along with him, Krillin probably would've stayed single or got back involved with Marin because let's face it naming his daughter with 18 after her you know he still loves her and odds are he would've been a sorry SOB who missed and wanted her in the end. I can also see with Goku still around Chichi realizing Gohon should be spending more time with his father and him training more he'd probably become more of a well rounded scholar and martial artist probably as good a fighter if not better then his father and probably would've made it to super sayin 3 by the Buu saga and got his more primal power by dbs and he'd be up there in super sayin god form with Goku Vegita and Trunks.

I think given how competitive both Goku and Vegeta are and given the gains we later see in Super more than likely Goku and Vegeta would be roughly a Grade 3 Super Sayian if not Grade 4, but I think there is the possibility they both would have hit Super Sayian 2.

@@OmoJusu22 if we’re talking about perfect cell, I’d have to firmly disagree. I doubt they would have reached super saiyan two levels in just a year (it took them seven in dragon ball proper). It’s more likely they’d reach goku or maybe gohan levels after the first round and cell stomps both of those levels of power. Perfect cell is just way too strong at this point that the only method was the Hail Mary that is gohan breaking.

Not really, Gohan could just train with Piccolo - which is a combination that makes a lot of sense. Piccolo would also come out of it much stronger since he wouldn't just be fighting weakened copies of himself in there, but Gohan, and Piccolo understands Gohan's latent potential and would also work to bring it out, though I don't know if he'd think of staying in SSJ the whole time, since he's not a super saiyan himself and might not occur to a namekian to do that. I think though that Piccolo could have brought Gohan to SSJ2 readiness, as well.

Just a thought that came to me. In the anime, when Goku becomes super saiyan, he grabs Freeza's wrist and doesn't let go and freeza cannot get free. At this point, couldn't Goku have won by one shotting freeza?

Vegeta was too proud to train with his rival, if it is forced to happen i think they would have kill each other, Vegeta at the time was stronger, maybe his fighter spirit would have wait until Goku power increase and would have try to kill him when the fight became enjoable.

No, I don't think Goku would be held back by Vegeta. Not if Vegeta somehow swallowed his pride enough to LEARN from Goku while in there with him and use his strategy - staying in SSJ the whole time, resting more, etc. THAT is why Vegeta didn't close the gap between them from here all the way until Super, when he finally closes that gap and even surpasses Goku at points. His own refusal to be like "kakkarot", and being so uptight, is EXACTLY what held him back in his training. Think about it - he KNEW about Goku's strategy after Goku and Gohan came out of the room - he understood it instantly - yet when he went BACK in he clearly did not copy that even though really he should have. Think about how much stronger Vegeta would have been if he'd used Goku's approach on round 2 AND trained / sparred DIRECTLY with Trunks all day every day instead of simply going off into the void somewhere to practice punching the air or powering up. THAT IS WHY Goku came out so much stronger - Goku was fighting a prodigy who was roughly his equal by the end of it (plus with SSJ2 in the tank) the entire time, while Vegeta was shadow boxing and screaming into the void to "train". Had Vegeta told trunks not to hold back even slightly and always come at him with his full might, and the two fought like THAT every day, he'd be FAR closer to Goku's level if not equal to it or maybe even slightly surpassing it. But, Vegeta's gotta Vegeta, so he basically wasted a year of his life screaming into the void instead of doing real training with a strong partner. It's not that Vegeta's inferior - he's a prodigy himself - a saiyan elite with a naturally very high power level and the only saiyan we've seen who can control himself as an oozaru - it's that Vegeta's his own worst enemy in holding HIMSELF back. If he ever got COMPLETELY out of his own way, he WOULD exceed Goku by a fair amount - just like how he was stronger than Goku when he first arrived on earth - 8,000 vs 18,000 (kaioken and oozaru aside). That gap right there? Goku had been training his whole life and Vegeta had been living a pampered prince's life - and there was still that gap even AFTER Goku trained with King Kai - a thing he never could have done if he hadn't died and gotten special treatment in the afterlife. That GAP between their base levels - and especially between Vegeta's 18,000 and Goku's barely over 400 prior to kai training - represents the TRUE, NATURAL GAP between their powers. Goku has stayed ahead so many times MAINY because of the friends he's made along the way, the time he's spent dead and training in otherworld and happenstance. If you don't believe me, let's examine what happens if Goku DOESN'T get those benefits: 1. Goku survives the battle with Raditz, and never trains with King Kai as a result. That means no 10x gravity training for a year, NO KAIOKEN, and NO SPIRIT BOMB - right off the bat, a HUGE impact on the rest of the events in DBZ. He trains instead on EARTH to prepare for the saiyans, at earth gravity, and as a result his power level is nowhere near as high - some of the others reached a few thousand, so we'll say Goku goes from 432 in power level against Raditz to about 4,000, which is very likely where he WOULD have landed at BEST had he trained on Earth given that Piccolo - his arch rival who had been close in power before - was at 3,500 after the year of training. SO Goku fights Vegeta and Nappa and can't even beat NAPPA in this scenario. It's possible that working together with Piccolo, Goku at a power level of 4,000 might secure a very narrow combination victory against NAPPA with the right tactics - but then Vegeta steps in and there's NO chance. 18,000 vs 4,000, and no kaioken or spirit bomb as a crutch. Let''s say Goku gets beaten by Vegeta, but for some reason Vegeta is feeling charitable after breaking all his bones, probably killing Piccolo, and knocking Gohan out in front of his father. He decides NOT to kill Goku or Gohan because it'd be a shame to kill the last remaining saiyans. 2. Goku heals, gets a slight zenkai boost, so he's at 5,000 now (20% increase after one fight is pretty good) and then it's a race to namek to get there before Vegeta, who had ALSO threatened Dr. Briefs into building him a ship with a gravitiy chamber after Briefs mentioned how he HAD a ship but he hadn't "installed the gravity machine yet" - Vegeta being as smart as he is knows Frieza will be going to Namek too, so decides it's worth training on the way if training had such a huge increase on Kakkarot's power just spending a year training with those earthlings - he had gone from 432 to 4,000 in just a year, after all - even if he was no match for Vegeta, it was in Vegeta's mind an amazing increase. So, Goku and Vegeta head out for Namek a day or two apart, with a head start to Vegeta since Goku still had to recover. Vegeta trains at 100x gravity on the way, as does Goku. THIS TIME however, because Goku after his zenkai is only at 5,000 instead of the 10,000 or so he was in the original story before the gravity training (zenkai boost from 8,000 to 10,000, also a 20% increase) since with no kai training he ended up at 4,000 instead of "over 8,000" in the manga...his power level jump from 10,000 to 180,000 (18x increase) would still BE an 18x increase BUT since he's starting at half the level, he arrives on Namek with a full power maximum of 90,000 intstead of 180,000. VEGETA, meanwhile, had done the same gravity training and gotten the same 18x boost to his power as a result, and was 18,000 x 18 = 324,000 upon arriving on Namek. Important to note, in the earth battle against a much weaker, no-kaioken kakkarot, he didn't go oozaru and never lost his tail. So you now have Goku and Vegeta on Namek at 90,000 and 324,000 respectively. 3. Vegeta knows Frieza is still stronger than him, so he does what he did before while Goku is still on the way - he kills off Frieza's henchmen. Krillin, Gohan and Bulma arrived before Goku too, as before. Only this time, he doesn't have to be so careful. He makes very short work of Cui, Dodoria and Zarbon, without losing to Zarbon the first time since he's now at 324,000. He doesn't take any damage, so he stays at 324,000. 4. The Ginyu force shows up - and this time, Vegeta just annihilates them, being stronger than all of them combined by far. He wastes no time and kills Ginyu first, followed by Guldo (no time stopping for you) and the others. Goku arrives around this time to find a very dead ginyu force and his unconscious son and friend, who in this continuity Recoome beat up before Vegeta showed up and killed them all. 5. Vegeta has no beef with kakkarot this time because after all he's far weaker and he'd WON that fight - but he makes it clear he'll be taking those dragonballs for himself. A fight breaks out, Goku is beaten down very quickly (90,000 vs 324,000, remember) but lluckily dende finds them and heals him up and takes them to Guru, where Goku has his potential unlocked. Since Gohan and Krillin went from a couple thousand to 20,000 or so after their unlocks - a 10x increase give or take - we'll give Goku the same advantage and he goes now to 900,000. Well, zenkai boost too so we'll actually say 1.5 million. 6. Goku confronts Vegeta as he's trying to make his wish, and is now thanks to Guru much stronger than Vegeta (that Goku plot armor...even in an alternate version of events he still gets a crazy benefit Vegeta doesn't). However, Frieza shows up at that time too.

PART II: 7. Vegeta tries to tell Goku that Frieza is not to be underestimated, but Goku is fully ready to fight. Vegeta gets badly beaten by Frieza first, and is taken by Krillin a distance away, where he convinces Dende to heal him, which he does. Meanwhile, Goku easily beats up Frieza's first form, and Frieza then goes to his second form - but Goku still has the advantage - so Frieza goes for broke and goes straight to his 4th form, annoyed with this saiyan. His forth form EASILY overwhelms Goku as much as it did Vegeta in the original events. He was so busy wailing on Goku he didn't see Vegeta getting healed and was shocked to find that after a big zenkai, Vegeta is now a lot stronger (after his first big zenkai following his big nap, Vegeta went from around 40,000 to 500,000 originally - over 10x stronger - so it is fair to give him a 10x boost here too after a bad thrashing by frieza). Vegeta has gone from 324,000 to 3.24 million and is giving Frieza's 4th form the same level of fight Goku originally had. Goku is lying on the ground, badly wounded, while Vegeta fights Frieza. Dende heals him, giving him a zenkai boost - so Goku goes from 1.5 to 15 million in power. Meanwhile, Frieza had powered up and nearly mortally wounded Vegeta, who is again healed by Dende while Goku is fighting him - till at a disadvantage, since he has no kaioken or spirit bomb and never met king kai. After another zenkai boost, Vegeta gets 5 times stronger, so is now at 16.2 million, 1.2 million ahead of Goku - he joins the fight and tells kakkarot to stay out of the way (which he ignores of course, being Goku). Frieza at this point realizes what Dende has been doing and kills him. This is a good time to mention that Piccolo is still revived in this version of events - the boys had snuck the dragonballs out and used them while Vegeta was nappng, since Vegeta did not know how to activate them and was stalled. 8. Frieza then powers up more and beats Goku badly - there is no spirit bomb or krillin killing moment because THAT only happened as a result of Frieza being angered by the spirit bomb and taking it out on Krillin. Now, Krillin is way over by the ship. 9. Frieza turns his attention to Vegeta. Frieza at 50% of his full power (60 million at 50%) is much stronger than Vegeta's 16.2 million, so he toys with him a bit, telling him how he killed his race, tortured his father....beheaded his mother for fun. THIS TIME, it's Vegeta who snaps. He goes super saiyan, and gains the 50x multipllier that com with it. (16.2 million * 50 ) = 810 million. Frieza goes 100% full power but is absolutely overwhelmed an killed by Vegeta. Meanwhile during their fight, king kai had gotten in touch with people on earth and namek and helped them communicate - the earth dragon was used t revive guru, the namekians were revived, and everyone but Vegeta and Frieza (who still blows a hole in namek in his rage and dooms it) is still transported to earth. This time, it is Vegeta who must take a ship an get off the planet before it blows, and him who lands on yardrat. No instant transmission for Goku! Rather, the yardrat people note that Vegeta is a very powerful and dangerous foe who might well kill them all, so they manage to convince him to let them teach him a special technique in exchange for sparing their planet - pointing out that the ship he came in is in no shape to make it back to earth if he wants to get revenge for them using the dragonballs and taking his wish for immortality away. He agrees, and they teach him instant transmission, which he uses to teleport to earth. In his time away Goku had obtained super saiyan as well and trained in the time chamber, but Vegeta still holds a slight advantage and round 2 begins. Goku does pretty well until Vegeta tosses a strange energy orb into the sky and...becomes an oozaru. An oozaru that then becomes GOLDEN (remember, no kaioken, no oozaru in their first encounter, never lost his tail and is the only one who can control himself in this form so can still go SSJ, which multiplies the x10 oozaru multiplier with the x50 ssj multiplier for a 500x multiplier, which is in other words stronger than SSJ3). There you have it. With just a SLIGHT change to a few key events, you see how drastically Goku lags behind Vegeta. MORE so if I don't give him the guru x10 potential unlock. Goku is not so much stronger than Vegeta because he's naturally better as he gets stronger more often through meeting the right people and learning the right techniques and dying at the right times and training in otherworld. Take that away and he'd have a VERY hard time keeping up with Vegeta if the two get t he same treatment.

That's Akira Toriyama for you as I remember in an interview he had years ago where he mentioned how he treated Vegeta saying that he recieved letters from fans to tell him to not kill him but he ended up killing Vegeta only to revive him a few chapters later, something along those lines. I remember he also in an interview after Battle of Gods where he said the next movie he would have Vegeta be the main character but that went nowhere, since in Resurrection F, Vegeta was denied his win against Frieza, but at least there's some good things Akira did for Vegeta, those being giving him the greatest character development Arc and redemption story and of course letting Vegeta defeat Goku 3 times.
