For the G5 luffy, I would debate heavily. Yes, G5 luffy is ridiculously strong, but that's with his immense control over the 3 types of haki, pre timeskip (or during marineford) he didn't have armament or observation and he lacked the control of his conquerors, and at the time it was still very weak. So whilst he could easily knock out the weak marines, he would stand no chance against any vice admirals, etc, and also just cant compare to the dying whitebeard, because despite being way older and way more ill, he has haki, and its haki which determines the strength of someone primarily, not so much a devil fruit:)

Here's my head canon: Everything until Whitebeard vs Kaido stays the same with the Marines watching over. Luffy saves Ace with conqueror's and Shanks makes the save. Kaido vs Whitebeard is destructive but seeing Ace freed by Luffy, Whitebeard will aim to destroy the island as his last act. Whitebeard dies, Kaido tries to flee, Admirals split to chase the two remaining Yonko. They hold their own while suffering a lot of damage. This war weakens everyone involved with Kaido needing to recoup his strength, Shanks having to hold off the marines while escaping with Luffy, and the marines having their main base destroyed. With everyone weakened and Luffy getting saved by everyone, he wouldn't think of having a training arc but would rather choose to go to the new world and strengthen himself there. Remember that there will be no time skip and this will be a world 2 years before our own. With a lot of Yonko territories weakened, the worst generation pirates would thrive in the chaos and other up and coming pirate crew would also come. Luffy would explore some island that would probably awaken his haki and face some pirate crews on the new world. However, I do think that Luffy being Luffy would run into the most dangerous person in the New World at that time, Big Mom. With her not joining the war, her strength is not diminished but rather, she can conquer more territories which Luffy might run into. They declare war on one another and Luffy gets wiped or escapes with a lot of damage. You can also make an argument about Doffy serving as a foil to Luffy esp with no time skip training. Overall, I think Luffy might still become stronger even with no war, but it might cost him a limb or two in the two years he will spend in the new world.
