I would say...ignore the knock and don't answer the door. Let them come back with a warrant if they want to talk. Right? Why open the door at all?

Don’t open the door or talk to them other than saying: “I am not going to talk with you. Please submit a list of the questions you would like answered to my attorney (name, address and telephone ). This is my right according to the U.S. Constitution.” If it is not an exceptionally “serious” issue, they might just leave you alone. Sanjosemike (no longer in CA)

@@sanjosemike3137 Good points. If the police have sufficient evidence, they'll obtain warrant(s) to arrest and/or search. You have NOTHING to gain by talking to them, especially under circumstances where your attorney isn't present.

I never answer the door to law enforcement. My neighbor is a Sheriff and said If you know for sure you didn’t do anything wrong don’t do answer the door. They will simply walk away.

A county police officer knocked on our door. As we’ve done nothing wrong, I answered the door. The officer was there to deliver a death notification concerning my wife’s sister. The police aren’t always being nefarious.

This also includes Traffic Stops... The first line of questioning at your window is always to get you to admit to the violation they pulled you over for.. Never verbally admit to anything that would be considered illegal....Just state that you "Do not answer questions", and "you don't feel like discussing your day".

Very early one morning, it was still dark, I was pulled over by a county police officer. He asked if I knew why he pulled me over. I had no idea and I said so. He told me that I had a tail light out. I thanked him for telling me and I was sincere. I don’t like driving without all lights working especially at night. He asked for my driver’s license and proof of insurance which I gave to him. He looked them over, handed them back and said the get my tail light fixed. I said I would and he left. This was pre-Covid and Walmart, I would pass by, was open. It maybe took me 4-5 minutes to buy and replace the bulb. I’ve had a State Patrol trooper pull me over and when I mentioned my specialty tag, he apologized and said he should have noticed and not stopped. The tag gave the driver of the car the right to drive in the HOV lane even when driving alone.

The 4th Circuit recently ruled that calling a person the n-word is not in itself “fighting words.” There must be evidence of incitement to violence. Can you please explain what would be evidence of incitement to violence if the n-word in itself is not.

Please do a video on Disorderly Conduct and where the line is between just pissing people off and actual incitement to violence. This is a statute that a lot of police seem to use to police feelings under color of law, which is borderline criminal (18 USC 242). The most common crime committed by police (part of their routine practice) is violating 18 USC 242 - Deprivation of Rights under color of Law. - Demanding ID under threat of arrest without probable cause or RAS of a crime afoot (Bullying behavior). - Unlawful detainment without RAS of a crime afoot. The only way to check this behavior is by the citizens themselves.. knowing the law (Terry v Ohio) on investigative detentions and calling their bluff, and suing them in federal court when they cross the line. Not everyone is willing to do this, but some will. It is Partiotic.
