If the prisoner stepped in the way (and dies), it's likely (if the Champion of Cyrodil really did become Sheogorath) that the Greymarch would've occured and Haskil would be no more :( Whether or not the Aldmeri Dominion would've put the Empire in a tight spot is up for debate, but it's possible that without the Oblivion Crisis happening, the Viligant of Stendar would never have formed, meaning it's very likely the Dawnguard wouldn't have formed either (seeing as Isran was once a Vigilant) and Harkon would've shat on the sun. Also, the An-Xileel may not have gotten as influential, since their notoriety began with the rebuffing of the daedric invasion. Wasn't it the Great War that compelled Ulfric to take on his father's mantle as a jarl in the first place? If the absence of the Oblivion Crisis prevents the Great War from happening entirely, then I think it's a pretty safe assumption that Ulfric continues his studies and meditations with the Greybeards. In fact, it could be Ulfric himself teaching Shouts to the Dragonborn instead of Arngeir. And you completely forgot about another bit of fallout from the Oblivion Crisis, the disbanding of the Mages Guild. Without the Daedric hordes creating all that anti-mage sentiment throughout Tamriel, the Mages Guild remains standing. Who knows how that could have affected the College of Winterhold.

I think the crown and the blades would ally with the church to create some version of what the Vigilants of Stendarr are in the standard timeline, whose sole purpose would be rooting out and destroying what remains of the Mythic Dawn. I'm pretty sure Martin's ascension to the throne would probably spark the Elder Scrolls version of the Dance of Dragons, with much more scope that just Skyrim, which would probably be one-sidedly sponsored by the still secret Aldmeri Dominion. They'd most likely encourage and instigate the destruction and chaos, ultimately coming out to start their Elven war in the aftermath (if they didn't just install a puppet successor themselves). Alduin would still come out of the timegate, everyone would still be unprepared and ill-equipped to deal with it, and much of what takes place in Skyrim would still more or less happen, minus the civil war, which would have already taken place during the Elder Scrolls Dance of Dragons two hundred years before.

The player could and would likely still be a Dragonborn. Remember there are 2 types of Dragonborn in the lore. Those from Alesia's Line have the blood, but are not capable of absorbing souls or using the Thum without training. Those from Tiber's line have the soul and can use the Thum and absorb souls. As stated in the video the Septim line is no longer direct descendents from Tiber so they likely no longer have the soul of a Dragon. Also before someone says they could become Avatar of Akatosh as Martin did I doubt Akatosh would bring himself to killing his first born. I mean not even the Dragonborn truly kills Alduin in ES5, you never actually absorb his soul.

Y'know the Aldmeri Dominion claiming to have brought back the missing moons sounds a bit of a gamble when you take into consideration that if they can bring back the moons than wouldn't that mean that they possibly can also make it disappear as well and thus possibly also be accused of such?

Really enjoying this series, and you make good cases for your alternative timelines for the most part. But. I must point out that I'm a bit disappointed with the framing of the civil war in Skyrim as I think the new agenda for Ulfric sounds very forced. I don't think Ulfric would wage war against the Empire or their loyalists in this timeline, because I think he would be a loyalist himself. Sure, he holds Nordic history, culture and tradition in high regard, but in the original timeline he would even abandon his post as a student of the Greybeards(the very essence of Nordic tradition in 4th era Skyrim) to fight for the Empire in the Great War. In his mind, as with most Nords, the Septim line within the Empire IS Nordic history. In the original timeline that line had ended 200 years ago and he still fought for the Empire, and only started his rebellion once he was convinced the Empire of old that he and the Nords valued so much was no more.

If the protagonist of oblivion never starts his journey, jyglagg would still be trapped as sheogorath and the greymarch would still happen, which also means our hero never becomes sheogorath. So what happened to the prisoner who saved uriel when martin becomes king??

Even if the Thalmor came to power in the Summerset Isles they'd never attack Cyrodiil with a Septim King on the throne, the Great War and the Stormcloak Rebellion never occur and the events of Redfall (whatever that may be) never happen either since that has to do with Hammerfell defeating the Thalmor because that plotline has to be solved and ES6 is definitely in Hammerfell.

if the aldmeri dominion used the dark brother hood to assasinate the emporor causing the civil war it could make for a really interesting dark brother hood quest where you need to infiltrate the group to find out who ordered the contract without arousing suspision still needing to kill or trying to help targets escape and hide making a very interesting moral dynamic

This actually made me realize. Who is to say Martin was really the last of his bloodline? He himself was a bastard son who was hidden away. Its quite likely the Uriel bloodline had many more bastard children over the years. So its possible another will return one day, being relieved to being of the Uriel Septim bloodline, carrying the dragon blood.

I don’t think the Last Dragon Born wouldn’t be needed in fact I think the total opposite will happen. Alduin return would most likely play out as this, you as the True Dragonborn (not last but True Dragonborn) would safety be able to cross the border into Skyrim. The True Dragonborn would stop at Helgen to rest after such a long journey. There would be Imperial soldiers there who guard the border along with Falkreath Hold Guards. Ralof would still be there but only because since no Civil War he can openly pursue his girl from Helgen, while being a border guard along with his comrade Hadvar who is also a border guard. Alduin attacks the True Dragonborn must flee with either Hadvar or Ralof after the two was separated. The events would eventually play out the same the True Dragonborn would be lead to Riverwood, meet the Jarl, however events plays differently. Instead of going out to Bleakfalls the Dragon attacks Whiterun tower. The Dragonborn along with some Whiterun Guard and Jarl housecarl defeats the Dragon. The events play out as before the Dragonborn absorbs the Dragon soul while a guard tell him of the Dragonborns who actually absorbs Dragon souls, but upon his return to Whiterun he would welcomed by Delphine dress in her full Blade uniform with other Blades with her beside the Jarl. While the Dragonborn then explains he killed the Dragon and absorb its soul. This where it gets interesting the Blades are in disbelief they don’t know what to say. For they only thought the Dragonborn Blood existed in the Septim bloodline. However here stands a Nord man/woman with no ties to the Septims who is able to do what they seemingly cannot absorb a Dragons soul. From there a lot will play out but I type enough lol.

I would like a alternate version consisting of The Grey-BEARDS foreseeing the threat that is Alduin & such so they seek those Dragon-born to teach the ways of meditation & such. Effectively negating any possibility for violence in combat unless the perpetrator is in fact, suicidal or other-wise perverse this harmful. Considering the Dragon-born of Sky-rim is a marauding menace too.....perhaps in this time line it is rescued by the Dragon-born as it interferes with Alduin's assault on Helgen?
