Just got rejected after doing multiple rounds interviews they said it was a close call. I don't really feel bad it just sucks kinda because you went through all those interviews to be told no.

@@tercial we are all in the same boat. make sure u have a good cover letter and be honest to yourself and to the company, less games = better. companies arent stupid and neither are you

Great suggestions about the sorts of questions to ask. It's always good to try and go beyond the "well we are still interviewing more candidates" comment doesn't really tell you anything about your status.

Do you REALLY buy it, that they will tell you how many they're interviewing and how you stand within the lot? :))))). You must be very, very young.

Hi Andy, I tried this approach or this line of questioning to sell myself. The position has been open for a month now and one candidate is being brought in for a second interview, and another for an initial in-person interview. Upon learning this information, I asked the recruiter why other new candidates are being brought in or consider and what has been missing from the candidates' experience or skill set? However, the recruiter may have taken my question as intrusive or a reflection on her recruiting skills. The response I get was that the "VP wants additional candidates to consider." From them on, the phone call turned south and I never heard back from the recruiter. Perhaps, it's the way I asked my question but I'm certain that I asked my question in a friendly manner.

Rico. I assure you it was not because you asked this question. Also. You can tailor the question if you feel it’s too aggressive. You can what has prevented you from hiring the candidates you’ve seen thus far or something of that nature. No recruiter worth their salt would get defensive about that question.

Recently, I have given one interview at company after finishing interview I got mail from Hr that "we will give you update next week once director come from holiday" In next week I got updated email from Hr saying that " We are review a few other candidates for the position and hope to present an offer early next week. You are one of our top candidates so we will be in touch soon." Does it indicate good sign?

Andy, Thanks so much! I have a perplexing situation. 90 days ago i applied for a position i was very qualified for. I immediately received a call from the recruiter who started the screening process. The salary was less compared to my current salary and they expected me to fund relo. While i thought the screen was so-so, he immediately sent a fup email asking 'what would it take?' I responded and 30 days later he said they want an advanced degree. No issue, i thanked him and moved on. 30+ days later he called wanting to re-engage. I am open to it, but concerned about red flags; why haven't they filled this req? Maybe i was the backup candidate? He did indicate the role has been challenging to fill (with smiley face email). Any thoughts/experience? If they are desperate i need to stick to my guns. My life would be easier if i did not have to relocate.

Hi Mr LaCivita, I had two job interviews......first one was this past Thursday and the second was Friday (same place) The Interviewer told me that they will discuss it on Monday (today) I was hoping to hear something and did not. I sent a thank you letter via email yesterday. I guess my question to you is......what are my changes on getting this job? Any feedback/advice will be greatly appreciated Sir. Thank you in advance.

I'm interviewing with a pretty big company and usually correspond with the recruiter. She also gave me the HM's email, but I haven't reached out. She said they're still interviewing candidates for a couple weeks, and those couple weeks have just finished. If I want to ask the questions listed in this video - do I reach out to the HM or the recruiter? Thanks!!

Isn’t it obvious that when an employer posts a job and there are 400 applications that there are “others”? If you are there invited to the interview and you are seeking a job, the employer needs to make a decision on YOU and not keep assessing the others “hoping to find the needle”. Real people are not boxes on a shelf that are “all the same”. I’m struggling a bit with how it helps a candidate with being so transparent on “how many other companies they are interviewing with” and giving all that detail to a prospective employer. Doesn’t exposing the candidate’s hand only hurt their position and strengthen the employer’s position in the process?

Some of this advice is good, HOWEver are you for real...thinking the employer is going to discuss other candidates with you...If they did I would RUN as fast as I could...This is what causes much of the toxic behaviour in businesses today.... It's just not behaviour that should be encouraged is so unbecoming. Put your knives away people and use integrity to land your next role and not devilish cut throat behaviour, it.s not normal.

Kingdom Perspectives #MindSetReset interesting perspective. Yes, I have decades of experience working in a recruitment capacity and there’s nothing wrong with EXCHANGING information in the process. Isn’t this a two way street? What’s wrong with me telling you there are two other candidates in the process. If you’re worried over the fact that I was honest with you, it’d frighten me to hire you.

In my experience, a company that knows who they need they will offer within 24 hrs. Weak companies dilly and dally and play mental games that go on for weeks. Ffs employers, people are more adaptable than what you are willing to give them credit for.

why would any candidate care what happens to the company they don't go for??? You all, be VERY convinced that they don't care what happens to you if they ditch you (sometimes they don't care even if they hire you ...). Don't fall for the automated email saying how difficult it was for them; once they pressed the "reject" button, they already forgot you exist. So yeah, be as inconsiderate as you feel like. This is a jungle. There is no respect from companies to employees. There is no reason for any respect from candidates to employers.
