In the wake of the most recent of 22 school shootings in 2018, here is my reaction. Call me naive, but I believe there would be no more school shootings or tragedies of the like, if we could fix this one problem.

As a Christian, wife, mother and teacher...thank you! Thank you for speaking the absolute truth that we all need to hear. I’ve always thought it starts in the home, and to hear someone else say the same thing only solidifies this thought.

Not only are you a cool guy, you are a nice, kind, and loving, intelligent Man. I totally agree with everything you say but I know that so many people are very screwed up and don't know any better. Sometimes because of addictions or because they we're not taught properly themselves. Your children are very blessed to have you. My father died when I was very young but I was raised by a very giving and loving Mom and siblings, and it IS so important. As an adult, I often still long for a Cool and loving father, I guess it never goes away but sometimes we have to learn to live with the scars. THANK YOU SIR!!

You are a very gifted speaker. What is frightening to me, is that the behaviour of "bad" parents somehow sinks into the subconscious of their children, who then emulate them when they become parents. You are so right!

So true brother. I love how you talk about your son opening a door for young girls. My son will race people to the door to open it for them. That is how I was brought up and that is how all three of my kids are going to be brought up. I hope by my daughter's seeing their dad raising them like this that one day they will find a husband that will treat them the same. Great video. Thank you.

I totally agree. I think parents need to make a more conscious effort to give their kids perspective on life and help them have real world experiences. So, that when they become adults they don't turn to violence, alcohol, or drugs to solve all their problems.

The man could be right or not. While what he is saying makes sense, it is really just a guess at the cause of the school shootings. The speaker does not know the shooters or their families. The actual facts of the incidents could support what he is saying or could refute it. It is time to stop guessing and start methodically studying the incidents. Powerful people oppose studying the shootings in that way. As long as those people dictate our response, the shootings will continue. We cannot fix that which we do not understand.

Timothy Dixon absolutely right. Can’t blame every shooting on a bad home life and parenting. Just a thought on a way to possibly turn it around. Thanks for watching!

@ Bearded Farmer EVERY point you made is this video is perfectly valid and on point. Please don't "correct" yourself just to compromise or ease the sharpness of your points because of someone else's feelings or opinions. You and I both know that Parenting, or lack of Parenting IS the ROOT cause of school shootings. Where the issues lie are with the fact that there are many reasons why Parenting is lacking and has been lacking in our society. We are conditioned to believe that "we don't live in a perfect world" and with that follows many many excuses as to why society claims we can't Parent. I feel that I don't have to continue, because obviously, you know EXACTLY what I mean. @ Timothy Dixon, no disrespect to you dude, but it ALL begins in the household. Look at the overall history of Parenting and how it has changed (for the worst) dramatically throughout the decades, and how children, in general, have changed along with it (for the worst). Yes there are lots of broken homes and every other excuse society makes up just so it doesn't have to take responsibility for its offspring. Quick example: Why is it that today's Teachers have to not only be our children's educator, but also teach them what they should have already learned at home? There is more to that question as this can go on and on. Point being, Parents are where it all begins, point blank period.
