This is awesome. Been tracing the old O & W line through Bridgewater, West Winfield, Depot Road near Miller's Mills, Chepatchet, South Columbia and on into Richfield Springs. I remember seeing a running engine at the Bridgewater Station and one stored in the engine house in RS.

It's good to see them sharing resources to keep the industry going. When Vanderbuilt , Durant and the boys controlled it, it was every man for himself. Especially if you owned the only railroad bridge into NYC. They would have never shared a track, much less an engine.

Well worth the chase as one could hear the Alco running at least on the trip back. When going outbound it looked like two cars of fertilizer up front. Two cars of animal feed in the middle and the last two cars were soybean meal. I dare to say I'm impressed by that firm unloading their three box cars while the train was out at the other end of the line. That type of car is loaded with paper or cardboard in Maine or New Brunswick as those cars go by on the old Pan Am Ander on Miller's Railfan channel..As for B-B power CSX is low on it since they took over the line up to Portland ME. It was a pleasant mid-60s day in Milwaukee sunny and a gentle breeze great weather to watch videos and @ 17:00 note the feline to the side of the track. Apparently Bitold sent his stand in to welcome the train home. Thanks again!

at @16:00 is that an old faded diamond you are filming at? And that tower speaks volumes.
@railroadingrambler218
@railroadingrambler218 Жыл бұрын
Not a diamond but an old spur line (approx 2 miles) known as the "Blue Line" since it ran along the southerly line of the old Erie Canal (present-day Oriskany Blvd). This line was blue on survey maps, hence the name. The Blue Line saw service through the early 1990s I believe.
