“When two or more molecules interact to form a new product (s), then this process is called A Chemical Reaction.”
So, whether a chemical reaction takes place or not can be understand by following points
a. Change in state
b. Change in colour
c. Evolution of a gas
d. Change in temperature
Reaction of Magnesium (Mg) and Oxygen (O)
Mg + O2 = MgO
A chemical reaction should always be balanced on both the side, as we all know the law of conservation of mass. That is mass can nither be created nor destroyed.
hence the reactant and the product in a chemical reaction should always has to be equal mass on both the side.
So the next step after writing a chemical reaction is how to balance the reaction.
Some examples of balanced chemical reactions are
H2 + Cl2 = 2HCL
3Fe + 4H2O = Fe3O4 + 4H2
