A day that keeps the poor poor. The day that gives the Church the power it has. Don't question your place, hit the collection plate on the way out, and your reward comes after you die. In short just another Pagan Ritual

Actually, Filipinos don't give that much to the Church. It's the rich that give large amount of money. It's already part of our culture. Religious or not, it's the reflection of Filipinos family culture. The reason why we don't leave our parents to nursing homes, don't euthanize our pets, and if we can, usually siblings live near each other. So what if pagan, does it concern you, will it cause not to sleep at night?

Quite similar to Spain, although we've been incorporating a bit of your Halloween custom in the last ten years. I guess that isn't a thing there? Maybe in some subdivisions?

It is interesting that many of the stores here decorate for Halloween and some businesses have the halloween parties but I have not seen kids out for candy Abelius.
