Thank you so much for this vid, now I've made up my mind. I am so surprised that black magic is relatively cheap compared to after effect because it's a perpetual license and not a subscription based software. And also seems like an amazing tool.

Very good info, many thanks! Would you be so kind to advise/give your opinion as to why fusion is not used as much as Nuke nowadays? I mean it is as I understand the same capable software, however the majority (if not all) of the vfx post house use Nuke as their main compositing software, which makes em wonder, why? Thanks again for your time and effort :)
@hendrikproosa4 жыл бұрын
Strangely enough most of the feature film shots that are showcased here are comped in Nuke, only exception seems to be Anonymous (from 2011). Fusion might have been used in productions of these shows (usually in stereo conversion pipelines) but so was MS Word. Fusion is nice but it is misleading to show shots not comped in Fusion as “done in Fusion”.
@ChaojianZhang3 жыл бұрын
That's the first impression I got when watching the beginning of the video. I always thought those were done in Nuke but the video says otherwise.
@ChaojianZhang3 жыл бұрын
When judging which software to learn, the most direct reason I am considering Fusion right now is Nuke is prohibitively expensive, and one will consider Adobe products as only the last resort.
@shahriartanvir9773 жыл бұрын

@X D maybe. But I have a 4gen i5 with 16 gigs of ram laptop. Trust me, I have way more issues and crashes with it. Fusion is optimised but that being said, you can expect to make some what okayish work on my laptop. 3d is a complete no go. And I have to edit on 360p. 720 is a no-go. I get what you saying but. @jeffreyspinner92134 жыл бұрын
You can do everything but export above 720p with the free version. At least that's my understanding. Unlike Nuke, which is so hobbled, you can't even learn the real stuff because you don't even get access to the real stuff to learn on their "apprentice" type license, like HoudiniFX allows, and HoudiniFX people can't take or make jokes. They are way too serious.
