the first couple years a lot of people can go through "baby blues" where they may have thoughts or feelings of regret due to the insane stress having a baby brings. It's not that they don't love their kids, it's just hard for them to see through the unique depression and wall of never-ending stress. Thats why they say quiet kids are easy kids

@@muscleman125word, im not a downer regardless of the Blues tho and there are tons of parents who have 'blues' and dont just stop at that line of 'takes a lot of my time' Lol. the original criticism still stands even in the face of nuance, suck my balls. hes not saying hes smacking up his baby or anything, just the way he talks ab his kid is funny bc its off. also the last line of your comment- 'thats what they say' lmao. 'they' being people you dont have to fundamentally agree with unless you're a coward. not everyone is seeing through a fog of depression and even those who are- can be considerate and on any spectrum of giving overtly displayed affection towards their children.

I would love to imagine Mike's son, when he's 9 years old, starts playing some form of future gen CS due to the peer pressure at first, but genuinely enjoy it after. Having played and loving "cs_drugbust", it has a major flaw. Since nobody hosts any online servers of it, the only real way you can play the map is offline. But for whatever reason bots happen to be able to see through the wooden fence surrounding the house and will not hesitate to wallbang the fuck out of you through it.

I just love the fact these maps were made by kids. They didn't care about design discipline, whether if they'd be feasible in real life, or even if they were balanced most of the time, they just wanted to stick as much cool sh!t into the level as they could without it crashing. It was all about making it fun!

I miss the variety and chaos of old school counter strike. Designing games for esports really just leads to taking a belt sander to the whole experience and smoothing out all the rough edges until all thats left is a smooth, featureless blob with no interesting or unique characteristics. Its really a shame that they bury the community server browser in GO and funnel the vast majority of the playerbase away from any custom content.

I love these kinds of videos. I'm someone who has spent way too much of my life playing CS (mostly 1.6, but a good amount of CSS and eventually even a bit of CSGO) and it's just incredible to see someone go and re-visit many aspects of CS in *such* detail. Well done, friend. I hope you do a video on "fy_iceworld" and its many variations (fy_iceworld2k, fy_snow - the best of the bunch, imho). I'm not entirely sure how popular Iceworld was in CSS, but on CS 1.6 it was one of the early SUPER popular "fun maps". I'd give 2nd place to fy_pool_day. A few others worth mentioning: de_rats (I've barely played this one myself, but it was insanely popular with many people), cs scoutzknivez, aim_ak-colt, aim_map_usp. I'll stop here. Thanks for such an awesome video.

Tried to make them as perfect as engine would allow me with all its limitation. Can remember few like de_dryway for CS; and ambush & fellaville for HL deathmatch. Careless and happy days when russian hl community were making a real massacre on them. I still have an urge to finish some works on progress but there’s lack of motivation knowing that it would likely stay unseen, you know. Thanks for video, I love content based on hl1 mapping stuff.

I'm new school, started playing csgo in 2013-ish. This video is very interesting, and that intro is one of the best intros I've ever seen for a youtube channel. Ez sub.

CSS Crackhouse holds most of my memories of CS gaming in highschool circa 2005-2009. I remember loving crackhouse. The weird thing is I just recently redownloaded CSS and the first thing I did was find a crackhouse lobby and play DM. I lost 2 hrs quickly. 2 days later this video popped up in my feed. Thank you ❤️

I was first introduced to CS:S by a university student from Hong Kong that was renting a room in our basement when I was maybe 12 or 13. He taught me everything about the game, we had so much fun. Our favorite map to play together was cs_crackhouse with de_dust being close second. I would pretend to go to sleep, wait for my parents to go to bed and then sneak to the basement to play until the early morning hours almost every night. He'd let me use his desktop and hop on his laptop to play. Looking back I'm surprised he never got annoyed or kicked me out of his room or anything. I think he was just far from home, lonely and wanted a friend to play games with even if that friend was a kid 10 years younger than him. Nicest guy ever, gave me a level 60 Runescape account too before moving out.
