Carnival in Rio is a very organized celebration. It has been happening since the 1930 is many different formats. But lets go directly to the question what is dancing in Rio like during carnival?
There are many types of dances, many venues in Rio to look for if you want to do the Rio Dancing. If you want to participate in the official parade, you have to register yourself with one of the samba schools that take part in the parade. Samba schools are the name given to the groups that compete at the carnival parade and where the Rio dancers or tourists, show their samba techniques.
After you register yourself, there will be a wing , a sector where you will be dancing. In general, there are rows composed of 8 dancers. The samba school will advise when the dancing / carnival costume is ready for pick up, and you will try them on. This video shows the dress rehearsal experience of the carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
The overall experience can last for about 4 hours, but the dancing portion itself should be around 20 to 30 minutes. It is definitely a great experience!!
