I hope it’s translated by a professional english translator and not by something computer based, or a Japanese person with little english experience so it ends up being almost the same as a bot translation.

I feel like this is a huge step backwards for the franchise and likely a sign that its dying because Bandai doesn't want to even invest enough for a cartoon or game anymore. This makes me think that Ghost Game and Survive were probably flops and that going in a "darker" direction wasn't a good idea.

Nah, there's a new story game being worked on and the card game is hugely successful. The vital Bracelet is also successful. Ghost Game did well enough to continue the VB's life

Why are call mage when you use the Japanese wording mega is call ultimate.

Because the English dub uses 'Ultimate' too for a different stage and then it gets confusing, so I use 'Perfect' and 'Mega' as they are unique terms. Unless you want me to use the actual Japanese term, which would be confusing too since not everyone knows Japanese.

(Also I couldn't help but want to explain why the English naming scheme is perfectly valid and totally reasonable to prefer...)

Tbh I would love if they tried to do an omnimon > omegamon / Diaboromon > Diablomon and just redo the dub versions to match the japanese stages to make it easier. That and for some reason my brain automatically uses the japanese versions until adult and then reverts to ultimate > mega which i'm sure the dub is to blame. Since the dub goes : in-training > in-training 2 > rookie > champion" and japanese is the more clearer : Baby > Baby 2 > Child > Adult. (Although even then I'd prefer "baby 2" to be called something different like "toddler" instead of just adding 2 on the end, but that's my nitpick). That and the japanese version explains why mega's are so rare. The stages are part of their age. We are born as a baby, become a toddler, then child, grow to an adult and end as a "perfect" that usually means "old man"; making Mega's and beyond more like legends and heroes of the world.
