Do you think a 2015 g63 is still a good buy today in 2023?
@chino1127 Жыл бұрын
Just purchased a ‘19 G63 for $170k (12,900 mi) from Fletcher Jones in Newport. Prices are rapidly declining in the G market. They were overly inflated due to issues with producing the V8 during the pandemic, which is shared with virtually every AMG model (apparently Mercedes prioritized their production for the S class) plus the significant demand for vehicles during that time, in general. Some speculate the boom in the crypto markets helped pushed cars like the G to stratospheric heights. A year later, today and prices have come down quite a bit. I was able to negotiate down to $20k dealer markup but still opted to go used, since there’s virtually no difference in the car. Mercedes is now printing these out, with dozens arriving at local dealerships in each batch. I visited another dealer and they still hadn’t sold their latest shipment from a month prior - several well-spec’d model still sitting on the lot. This is pushing the ADM lower and I think eventually they can be bought with no markup which will also push down secondary market prices and obviously the older W463 models as well. The only thing that could reverse this is if the rumors are true that this year is the last year of production for the gas/petrol version, with it being replaced by the EQG. Right now you can no longer build a G63 in the Mercedes site, it just says “coming soon.” Hard to believe they would get rid of the iconic V8 version and swap it for the new electric model though.

nobody knows if they can sell a V8 in 2025 upwards... so they stopped producing and everybody tried to order one... thats why it had this hype.

@@ULXB258 I just checked used prices for the current model and they seem to have gone up a tad bit since I bought mine earlier this year. Not sure what’s going on - crazy market.

Quick update (y’all probably heard about this before I did): The 2025 Mercedes AMG G63 (facelift) will retain the 4.0 V8, but it’s engine will now be paired to a 48-volt mild hybrid motor. The M177 unit in the 2024 G63 produces 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds. The hybrid V8 in the 2025 version produces 597 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque, with 60 mph now coming up in 4.1 seconds (should you opt for the AMG Performance Package). Although the V8 will still be around, I think prices of the outgoing version aren’t going to decline as steeply as we’d expect them to. There are people who still like the old-school charm of the older G63 (W463) because they believe the new one (W463a) is “too soft”. If people like that are driving demand for the old G63, I’m pretty sure there’ll be a lot more folks who’ll keep the prices of the current G63 from bottoming out. The facelift still retains many iconic aspects of the G-Wagon, but it’s probably the absence of little things (like the analog IWC clock, starter crank, and minimal particulate filtering) that’ll matter most to purists.

Hey PJ, you are spot on. And I think you touched base on that during “the 2022 used car market bubble explained” video. I have specific question about my situation with 2031 G63 that would appreciate your insight on. I clicked the link in the video for the training video but it doesn’t load up. Can you please send link for the training. I need experts opinion like you. Thanks a ton!

“New G63 are plummeting” In Canada you can’t find you under $390,000CAD in the last 2 months…
@Tential12 жыл бұрын
Canada is a different market. The percentage of your market that are amgs for example is WAY higher than America. America sells a lot of non amgs, Canada sells an insane amount of amgs. You get different cars and different supplies of them. It's a supply and demand game, so this stuff mostly applies to our region.

So the question is this, if you're looking below $100k in 2022, what do you think of any of the older gen vipers? They shot up but I still think they have some potential for growth

@@ExoticCarHacks appreciate the response! yeah i've heard that quite a few times. seems like quite a ruthless vehicle.. I'm thinking of anything between 04-09. they seem to be somewhat safer than the older ones. What are your thoughts about financing these? I have no idea where to start or even if this is a good idea. I wouldn't have the full money for this, but id probably have around 40% of the car in cash. Just curious how you'd approach this and if financing makes sense or if i should consider saving up cash till then.
