I have arthritis in both hips, knees and bilateral bursitis for many years. About 15 yrs at least.. I have arthritis in my entire spine, SI joints, and all my other pelvic joints.. Had injections multiple times..It has gotten better since my right hip was replaced.. Also have lots of spurs in all joints.. I already do some of the exercises you showed in your other video but need to make some adjustments… One thing that didn’t help me was having a desk job for 20 yrs with long periods of sitting..

Thanks for this. I had a stroke 2 years ago, and have a very uneven gait, as a result, which I think has contributed to my recent hip pain/ bursitis. I used to do barre exercises regularly and was very fit and active. Since December I’ve been doing modified barre exercises with a trainer/PT. I have pain particularly at night at left hip, for2-3 weeks. Will try your helpful exercises seen on another of your videos. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks very much.

Hi and thank you for these great videos. I saw a physiotherapist this week . The doctor told me I had hip bursitis. This was his 2nd diagnosis. He originally said it was osteo arthritis. I had and accident falling down some icy stairs when I was pregnant 40 years ago andwas diagnosed with bursitis at the time. Since a year and a half it's come back after doing perhaps too much. The physio td me that it was both the bursitis 20% & bursitis 80%. It goes from the hip and sometimes down to my knee and a lot in the groin. He told me that I should get infiltrations of cortisone and then come back to see him as there is too much inflammation right now. Because I have both of these, I am somewhat at loss of how to treat it exercise wise. I really don't like the idea of injections or surgery. I swim and walk right now.

Hi there :) I'm about to start your exercises for hip bursitis after reading the wonderful comments! My question to you today is, do you have any advice or exercises for compression fracture on the spine, I get a LOT of pain mid back that radiates around to my right mid rib cage. Especially after doing a little housework. Ive had this for a long time now and at 60yrs it seems to be taking an awful long time to heal. It's been a couple of years already! Pain killers are not helping so I stopped taking them. Any advice or exercise, stretching maybe, would be deeply appreciated. It really is making my life a misery and im desperate right now. Thank you for your awesome videos!!

I developed hip bursitis after a patellar tendon rupture. I would typically sit with my injured leg elevated (~45-50 degrees) most of the day. The bursitis would flair up in hip joints during the night while lying flat and be quite severe at times, with very noticeable swelling on both hips. I have to assume it is the elevated position that is causing the issue, though it is all very baffling since I was a avid runner before my injury with no history of hip issues.

Hey there, great question! These types of motions can actually be performed with the glutes. If you can use the glutes effectively during these motions, then they can be good to help take pressure off the painful area. In the short-term, it may be a good idea to rest a little more.

Doctor does hip bursitis also cause excruciating cramps in the thigh and groin ,and what can a person do to prevent the cramps .
@epmanualphysicaltherapy Жыл бұрын
Hey Tokkie! The hip bursitis can often occur due to overuse of the surrounding muscles. If you have overused the muscles of your thigh, then it is very likely that this is causing your cramps. It would be a great idea to try and incorporate your glutes more often into your normal life! Question for the Doctor!! Can a SEVERE BUNION, that's affecting the toes and Metatarsals and a 50+year old Peroneal tendon tear in the ankle CREATE enough of a MUSCULAR IMBALANCE, to actually CAUSE HIP BURSITIS? I'm starting from the beginning, to better understand WHY this is happening to me. Can STIFF PERSON SYNDROME cause muscle cramps that can TEAR TENDON from the bone? This is what I think happened to me!

well i am done for as my pain started in hip and lower back nearly 20 year ago ,the first doctor said it was a hip problem as he could not turn my hip on the couch ,a exray did not show anything ,the pain gets worse with walking and standing and resting used to improve this ,years later a different doctor blamed it all on lower back facet joint arthritis ,about 17 year later i now get severe pain if i lay straight on my back and not side for around 20 min same with sitting on a chair i cant sit back slightly or i end up screaming ,i have had plantar facilitis a few times and now my knee is going ,i had left shoulder pain at age 17 onwards if doing any work that involves having my arm above my waist ,ii have neck pain getting worse not allowed any xray or scan i get offered no treatment or benefits ,i gave up work for around 15 years ,

Ok I really want to know if I have hip bursitis. I have stiffness on the outer side of hip in the right leg. Basically on the joint. It seems so I don’t know it technically, but my outer thigh and outer hip. It’s not red, it’s not swelled. The skin is tight and hard and stiff. So when I walk I have to limp a bit. Is this bursitis ? I got pain and numbness in leg and shock like feeling like sciatica. I’m so confused. I had overused my legs. Manual Sewing machine, carrying chairs two floors up. MRI shows disc bulge. L5 S1 and they are treating me for it but I seriously feel it’s hip bursitis. It’s been three months already but my hip thigh inflammation and hardness hasn’t gone at all. And now it feels as if my other leg also have slight stiffness around same area as I used it more than the right one😢 I don’t have pain every time but the stuff rs and hardness is there all the time 😢

Nice video, but it gives me very little hope that my bursitis can be solved. I desperately want to sleep on my left side, because sleeping on my back is very uncomfortable. However, I have not been able to sleep on my left side for 13 years because of an inflamed bursa. I have tried medications, including injection into the bursa, and THEY DO NOT WORK. My GP never recommended physical therapy, and he dismissed surgery as ineffective. So where does that leave me???
