I had plasmapheresis and IVIG last year to treat some rejection I was having with my kidney. It took about 6 weeks and wasn’t too bad. It worked great and stopped the rejection 👍

They used IVIG on me 2022 (1 yr post) for GBS treatment

I received Benadryl Tylenol and lorazepam before they start the infusion to help limiting side effects

Thanks Jim for making a new video on IVIG, my son had this treatment in 2018 in his first year after transplant...and now we are told he will be receiving IVIG again as soon as it's approved by insurance. The last time he was 4 days on 3 weeks off for several rounds...and yes some can have terrible headaches during and after the treatments. It's not what we wanted to hear again but his antibodies shot up from his usual 5000 to over 13,000 in less than 3 months. He is checked by his team every 3 months ( he is a rare case and was born with some of the same defects as you were) so his team monitors him closely even at almost 7 years post. Thanks again for ypu series of videos to educate us all.❤❤❤

Hi Jim! Hi Community! My son, Josh, had acute rejection about two months after his liver transplant. We stayed in the hospital for three days while he had steroid therapy. Boy, that was fun! What considerations are there for IV IG as opposed to steroids? Blessings!

IVIG is generally used in the most severe or chronic cases, where it happens repeatedly

Yea I’m on this every month for elevated dsa antibody levels no side effects for me yet.
