If you are involved in making any change in the world of work, Kotter's is one of the models you MUST know. And, if you are leading change as your job, then his 2014 book, Accelerate (geni.us/AH6uJBO) is one you really should read.

Mike, thanks a million for this very good topic! honestly i came here for the project management content, but this video is fare beyond that! and the reason is: we need changes! there are many countries live today under dictatorship, many people suffer for many reason around the world either because a change is needed but no one is working on it! or there are a group of people who are working on a change but maybe not in a correct way! the world needs this topic! thank you again!

A slight correction to your video. In 1995 J.Kotter published his original article in the form of NOTs. In other words, it focused on the necessary Conditions for change. The book has shifted the focus to the Process. There is another book he wrote "Our Iceberg Is Melting", a story format, that makes both the conditions and process easier to remember. The two are sides of the same coin. Finally, when considering a change we need to look at what motivates the change: the Fixed Mindset (combative competition, exploitation) or the Growth Mindset (healthy competition). "We need to be careful what we wish for, unless we have a grace to hope that our luck can be shared."
