Just to let you know, you do not gain much beyond 144Hz. Don't be fooled by FPS or Hz beyond that, instead, focus on frametime. 60Hz is 16.6ms 120Hz is 8.2ms 144Hz is 6.9ms (huge jump from 60Hz) But once you go beyond that, you just gain a couple of ms 240Hz is 4.1ms 360Hz is just 2.7ms It ain't worth the money lol.

Skill will always be the most important sure, but a $3000 setup probably doesn't hurt. I mean, it's not bad that gaming technology becomes better and better but this is really not something for the average gamer for now but this is making it look a bit like "now you can be better too!" Sure this isn't going to make a noob into a pro, but if you're already in the top 1%, this is the difference between a Michael Phelps and a Milorad Čavić. And I bet you've heard of one guy and not the other. now, you might be thinking, sure but i'm no Olympic Athlete. But the effect still scales - to an extent. Even lower-level competitions are decided by slim margins. Maybe those milliseconds will make the clutch play that will put your clan on top of the board for a while. Suppose it reduces your average ttk, even by just 1 frame worth. That's a noticeable effect over the long run. So yeah, it won't make your average noob a pro, but it will have measurable effects on good players.

There is a program that can make your controller respond in 1ms and also make sure if your monitor has a low latency mode enable it, and in the nvidia control panel there is an option that also reduces latency. For me I feel rocket league responds too quick making it actually harder somehow

If you're talking about a wireless controller, that's probably your biggest issue. @relics it seems harder because your brain is used to take this latency to process informations. As simple as that.
