Are there any major difference between a physical therapy course and a physiotherapy course as in what they study?
@drjustinleedpt4 жыл бұрын
I do not believe there is a difference. In the USA they call it physical therapy, in other countries they call it physiotherapy. Its the same thing!! The majority of content that students learn are the same. I mean a human anatomy is the same in the US vs anywhere else right? haha but there might be a different treatment approach from the US vs other countries

I just wanted to say, I love your personality! (Then, I decided to share the rest below ;) lol). I came across your video(s) when looking into a new career choice. I've been out of school for a while, I suck at math, and do have I a BA. I need some sort of program to help get a decent job. I'm about to research if I can get into a programs with the Ba I already have. Been out of tha "game" (job search/career move) for a min. I've been injured so many times, I practically know how to treat myself and others lol. So figured I'd be great at this job. I'm just scared about the math requirements.

Thank you so much!! KZbin is a great platform to share who I am and I’m glad you’re able to learn more about me through it. As far as your potential career change, don’t let math be a mountain to turn you away from what you want to do. You can learn math. It takes effort to practice it, but like any other subject and skill, you can learn it! Have you thought about physical therapist assistant as well?

GRACE PHYZIO thank you so much! I appreciate your support. I would definitely have to say my biggest tip on starting a KZbin journey is to literally just start! So many people say they want to get on KZbin or post some videos, but they over analyze everything and they never get themselves to start. Secondly, if you start it and you have to make sure that you are consistent with it! When I first started my KZbin channel and started growing, I recorded 10 videos to make sure that I had consistency when I started

We don’t per say do “spinal adjustments” but we do perform similar treatment techniques that can help stuck joints move better and that “pop” sound is usually heard when we do these type of treatments. We call this “high velocity low amplitude grade V joint mobilizations”

Does it matter what college you go to to become a PT? I heard it doesn’t that the experience is more important but how do I pick a college in general? Do I just pick a college for its majors?
@drjustinleedpt4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Where you graduate from undergrad does not matter. But what does matter is your GPA and personal statement. I would pick a college that offers some good majors related to Physical therapy. I have a video on that here kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5Csnn-Dn7BliLs

Hi Justin! Question. So do DPTs get hand on work? My goal is to work directly with patients helping with exercises and be right there. Not sure if I just want to go room to room seeing patients. I want to be up and moving with the patients! Thanks!
@drjustinleedpt4 жыл бұрын
Yes DPTs definitely get hands on work. It depends on the clinic you work at, but a DPT will always be doing the first initial evaluation. Then it depends on your clinic if you consistently follow up with the patient or have an assistant aide help you. But regardless you will always be there to check in and make sure progress is being made/modify the treatment plan. More questions?

@drjustinleedpt4 жыл бұрын
Whats up Yaman! Great question. I think it would depend on what you want. Obviously you make way more money opening your own clinic, but it comes with all the ties to entrepreneur-related tasks you know? and that could be a headache. I personally like working for another company and working on my side-hussles on my off time. I have more freedom that way! Other business opportunities could be to teach at colleges/universities, be a DPT professor, work for any fitness gym, wellness coaching, high school/college strength coach or rehab specialist for athletes. There are ALOT!!!
