This reminds me of the youtube video where they gave $100,000 to a homeless man. He was soon broke and homeless again... what he needed was not money, but positive influence that comes from learning from a prosperous person. Great video and it encourages me to promote togetherness.

It is certainly proved by history that trade between peoples strengthens the cultural ties as well. Yet, even "free trade" has never come close to eliminating poverty in any societies. The reason is simple: unresolved in every society is what moral philosophers and political economists prior to the 20th century referred to as "the land question." Who is entitled to own the land, to own the planet? By force and fraud the planet has been divided into countries, where the occupants claim sovereign control. And, then within countries a minority claim absolute or near-absolute control over the land and whatever natural resources it contains. By what principle do any individuals or entities claim ownership over a portion of the planet, over nature? We must solve the land question if we are ever to eliminate poverty in this world. And, the only practical means of ending the monopolization of land and natural resources is to require those who control nature to compensate society for this privilege. In his essay "Agrarian Justice," Thomas Paine provided the solution. He wrote that every owner of land owes to society the full potential annual rental value of land in return for the privilege enjoyed. Later in the 19th century, the American political economist Henry George sparked a social movement to do just that but could not overcome the entrenched power of landed interests. The solution remains to be implemented. We must find the courage to demand from our political elites the changes in law necessary.

Yes profound! indeed but allow me to expand and say to me poverty is much deeper than what most people think, you see folks poverty to me is a mindset with no objective towards self-improvement, self-growth or success honestly I didn't grow up in poverty, it just fueled my desires to be better than yesterday greater than tomorrow and elite in the future. what I am saying precisely, is that if you deprive your brain of its food, your belly may be full and content, you may have food on the table but regardless, the fact still remains you are subject to "poverty" you see folks this is the irony of life and the essence of what we call "poverty" if that's the case, then having food and resources can not be the measure of our emancipation from it but a change of our cognitive behavior

The opposite of separation is togetherness. The opposite of condescension is friendship. Change in poverty requires a change of lifestyle by those with power, to be accessible to others, to be vulnerable about our needs and insecurities.

Apparently, most people in the Netherlands define poverty as not being able to afford a normal social life. If you cannot have guests, cannot visit your friends, cannot be a full member of an association, cannot go to a pub, cannot do a sport...you are poor. IMHO, the only way to tackle poverty includes stopping the rich from getting even richer

It's not about a wall,it's about parents or people who are addicted on drugs and the others who just want to collect food stamps and welfare.Poverty ends when the grown ups do for their children and get jobs and off their highs. But they are so high strung all they think about are themselves. If a person cannot support a baby then don't have them.Think of the children's future and what they might've become if we only work and strife to do our best to raise good children, not show them how to collect without contributing to this country.Poor kids,it's not their fault they have parents who don't even know they exist.😢🙏🕊
