For someone not an active participant in Tai Chi, thank you for an introduction. Most people do not realize how out of harmony their body is. I once met a Tai Chi master and I asked him what is the everyday application for this besides medication and body movement. He told me to grab him like in a fight. Needless to say, he manipulated my body like it was a ragdoll. I then realized how out of focus I was in my movements as well as in my mind. It was a real awakening for me.

I think a lot of human illnesses has to do with lifestyle, diet and environment. Not just genetics. I had a grandmother who lived in a Chinese village her whole life, without indoor plumbing, with barely enough electricity to power a few light bulbs. She lived into her 90's, and Grandfather passed a few years before her. My dad who lived half his life in the USA, recently passed away at age 85. Living simply, eating simply, getting enough sleep, all very important.

@@_Wai_Wai_ In "The Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine" an ancient chinesse book that has a lot of taoist influence belief to be written between 470bc and 220ce, there is a conversation between the so called yellow emperor and one of his court physicians, in one part he talks about the man and woman that lived in connection with "the earth and the sky", and those man could live their "full time" in life which he told was about 100 years, while the man that wasn't connected with that developed sickness and couldn't live all the life time they were given. He was talking about the connection with the transcendent (the sky realm), which therapeutic, spiritual and inner energy practices connects us with, and modern life kinda disconnect us from if we get lost on the turmoil of it, so yeah, your pretty much on spot, modern medicine doesn't understand that (yet) so it's not common knowledge.

I am currently learning about different martial arts and tai chi chuan has taken the cup for me because it will help me in many more ways than I can count. I need a relaxed mind, I need a body that will be in harmony with my mind before I can learn to defend myself. If there are any books you can recommend, I would love to educate myself. He shared with me his vision to create not only online courses, but an online Academy. I was excited by this vision and shared how I could use my filmmaking and inter-web skillz to make it happen. We then had a cup of tea and Master Gu sang Chinese opera while playing the guitar… 🤠☯ We are really proud of what we have built. The universal principle. This science I've studied for years and I've just scratched the surface of this art. This art and the other branches of the tree , where tai chi is the foundation as well as qigong the internal principles are the expression of the balance of not just the elements, but a balance of spirit and matter , Present in the moment in its execution and power tai chi As the hub of the wheel where many systems met as a martial art with and without weapons , is also a system of forms for health and the repetitive conditioning of the body mind and spirit. When combined with Chinese medicine it is a very beneficial lifestyle . Its gifts lay in its repetition and how it becomes 2nd nature. I have learned much from the traditional world of these systems.

It's very beneficial even when not combined with Chinese medicine. If you practice taiji a few hours every day, you won't need Chinese medicine! 😇

My zodiac sign is cancer ♋️ so I looked up what the best exercise is for me. I like swimming but pools are closed because of the pandemic and winter is coming so I looked up what it recommended based off my sign and the article said tai chi. I’ve always wanted to get into a form of martial arts but I’m intimidated and don’t have much energy.... this looks like it would be my kind of activity so I’m goi got give it a try. Wish me luck!

I hope that you learned from your mistake and now make multiple backups. I have 2 separate hard drives on my laptop and use a large capacity thumb drive and I always upload to a cloud server. Dropbox, Google and Microsoft have cloud backup services and there are other reliable ones. I guess you know the huge advantage of the cloud because it is available from anywhere and you can send large files to people very easily. Looking forward to seeing the videos. I am very Interested in taiji quan and it's benefits. I am 71 years old and have always been open to new things.

I've never practiced martial arts of any kind. I'm over weight and have been looking at yoga as a potential daily routine to help lose weight. I've stumbled upon Tai Chi and I'm going to start a 30 day challenge. Is there a youtuber who has a very simple and basic introduction for someone like me? Someone who is brand new and starting from a very unhealthy spot?

It’s just where the pines meet the deciduous trees. Pineneedles that fall on the ground are highly acidic. That with the combination of more shade from the large high canopy keeps the underbrush from growing. It’s common to see pine trees growing on higher ground where theres more drainage. On the right you can see the deciduous forest where is sunlight seems to penetrate all the way to the ground. The elevation also seems lower, which provides a habitat for different species of plants.
