Just putting it out there cause some people seem mad confused... but there are two types of touch screens. (there may be many more but two commonly used ones today...) Ones meant to use fingers (electricity) And ones meant for note taking and drawing (pressure sensitive) The touchscreens that use electricity in your body as the trigger of a "touch" then you'll have to avoid accidently touching the screen with your palm because the tablet will recognize your palm as an act of touching. While pressure sensitive will be able to calculate the amount of pressure that's being acted on to the screen and be able to neglect the touch of the palm. This is called palm rejection. You're suffering from these pens with dumb designs because iPads are designed to be used with your fingers. Surface Pro has a screen that is pressure sensitive. So does the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga. These tablets or laptops are said to be "digitized" So if you're interested in intense note taking and fine-tipped pens, then you should look out for that word...

Note that the adonit JotPro will easily scratch your screen if your screen is not perfectly clean. Any little spec of dirt will get stuck underneath the plastic disc and scratch the screen. If you're really good at keeping your screen perfectly clean all the time with microfiber cloth, then it shouldn't really be a problem for you.

There are styli that have this odd woven metalic material as the tip. It's firmer than silicon tips and has a great response time to any capacitative screen. I've been sketching with one for two months now with no problems at all, so I can easily say that it's a really good type of stylus.

I use a Meko stylus and it's basically a duel stylus with a Jotpro like tip AND a Bamboo like tip. And for $15 you get two of them, and 6 replacement pieces

Ditto, after using it I laugh at anyone else spending more because the Meko works so well, lasts so long, feels good in hand and lacks the pretentious BS so many others have. It may not be an "active" stylus but with the two tips doesn't need to be.

So I've watched this review before buying my stylus and found it very helpful. Thanks for the video! I've recently bought my Cosmonaut Stylus and I must say, I really love the look and feel of it! Take into account that I use this on my Samsung Tab S. There's a screen protector on my tablet and yet there is still no need to add the slightest pressure to get the stylus to work. It performs so smoothly! As the Apple users say, I can confirm that the Cosmonaut Stylus does need pressure when in use with the Apple products such as the iPad 3, iPhone, and iTouch (I used my cousins' to test this). Luckily for me, it works perfectly on my tablet! Although some people turn away from this stylus due to its wide-width built, I still like the feel of it in my hands whenever I use it. I plan to use this for notetaking in school and that requires a lot of notes, graphs, and circuit diagramming. And for the past days I've been using it, it can easily achieve those needs. Overall, I really like it! I don't regret purchasing it because it's definitely worth the money. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Also, I've used a stylus pen similarly built as the Alupen here on the video with the hexagonal hard material as its shaft. I used it for about a week as my finger would hurt after hours of hard use. This is due to its nib that really produces a lot of friction on my screen. Again, take into account that it's not the actual Alupen shown in the video, this disappointing stylus fortunately costs a lot less. So, I can't really give my thoughts about the Alupen stylus itself. This post solely serves as a sharing of my experience.

Nice video. I've been using the new Incipio Inscribe Stylus which as a nice, hollow rubberized tip. The tip is nice and small so its felt pretty accurate so far. Looking at the Pogo Sketch Plus for 2012, the website says it now uses the same new tip that the Pogo Sketch Pro uses, not the old foam style that you have in the video.

My Wacom Bamboo's nib ripped after heavy use. It's a nice stylus, and I like the weight, and the metal clip can attach itself through the iPad cover (similar to the Jot that was demonstrated in the video.) The good news is there are additional nibs that you could buy that are either soft or firm (3pk for $5). With all of that said, I like the durability of my Cosmonaut, which gets as much use as the Bamboo but is still holding up.

Oh my god, those pens look stupid. How can they call them pens with these round tips . People, go and buy a Surface Pro 3! The pen goes with it is a real pen, with pointed tip. Just compare the price, the basic version of SP3 cost 800$ with the pen included and 64Gb SSD. The ipad with 64Gb cost 700$, but if you buy a pen, the price would be much higher. Don't hesitate, buy a SP3, and experience real computer program, not some stupid apps on the ipad.

Was also going to get one for college but found out its uselss for long periods of time and video editing wont be good on it and watching movies and videos use up to much of its cpu(even ipad level games will use up to much of its performance and throttle). Most interesting part was the stylus + onenote for note taking but for 800 + office i think im going with the new iPad since I already have invested alot into editing apps and other note taking apps. downside is the stylus support for iPad is pretty low and those stylus do look terrible but then again that was 2012

I like the jot pro the best. I use it to make sketches and take notes. The other stylus don't really let one see where the lines are being made. Only problem is how easy it is to lose the tip. It hard to find a small transparent tip that basically pops off if you are not careful.

I own the Wacom Stylus 2 that is by far one of the best stylus for ipad around here, but its in a different range, its a bit expensive cause it uses a different technology. But, even after its a more modern product that the showed in this video and even that is more precise, the quality is reaaaaallly so-so (slow, imprecise, lacks of some features). For sketching is fine but for nothing else more. I know that some experts can create stunning art with one of them but also experts can create stunning art by using their fingers.

Awesome review, however, I'm surprised you didn't mention LYNKtec's TruGlide Pro Stylus Pro. It has a microfiber tip, both accurate and sensitive to the touch screen on any of my devices. And I also got the Paintbrush Tip they offer for the painting apps. From my experience, LYNKtec's products are what I would recommend.

I've used alot of various stylus's for my ipad and done some reaserch. I've found that the best stylus is the 3M Smart pen. Its the same length and width as a pen, and has the smallest rubber tip I've seen, which makes for amazing percission. I've been using it for over 6 months and it hasn't worn out yet, unlike other stylus's It has a metal body and a usful clip. It's balaced very nice and is very comfortable to hold. It's pretty cheap, at only 16 bucks, but is worth way more!

Hey guys, I highly recommend giving the Musemee Notier Prime. Similar concept as the Adonit Jot, but it's a bit cheaper and nicer looking. I just got one and I'm loving it so far. You don't get the magnetic feature though. But that didn't matter to me.

If you want the best pen input, use the surface Pro or Samsung S pen enabled device because both uses Wacom screen technology where it not only gives you pressure sensitivity but trail-free fast pen input. Wacom makes professional drawing panels for artists and graphics designer

For $8 go to CVS and get the two-pack Symtek. Its small with rubber tip. I use that with Ipad, works just fine for sketching. For slightly more accuracy, get the Jot. For high accuracy, artists/architects get a Wacom tablet.
