Disclaimer: I mentioned Oral-B pro expert does not have the right amount of fluoride! Update it has 1100ppm of stannous fluoride and 350ppm sodium fluoride which makes 1450ppm! So it is completely fine to use. However toothpastes like Euthymol and herbal toothpastes with NO fluoride are ones you should avoid. (Apologies!)

My toothpaste lists the fluoride content as .454% stannous fluoride (.14% w/v fluoride ion). How do I know if this is 1450 ppm or not?

To reverse tooth decay in the early stages, you need calcium phosphate based minerals in toothpaste (calcium phosphate, tricalcium pophosphate, hydroxyapatite, biomin, etc.) and mouthwash. You also need to eat a very clean diet (little or no added sugar, no acidic softdrinks or citrus drinks, etc.). Fluoride is really only best for protecting against acidic foods and sugar (and it only does so-so, it won't make up for a terrible diet) it doesn't remineralize nearly as well as calcium phosphate. As far as fluoride goes, stannous fluoride is a better choice as it actually kills germs and does a better job protecting teeth, particularly sensitive teeth, although Sensodyne Pronamel is also good and is the only sodium fluoride toothpaste I would recommend.

How about people who can't use fluoride? I have hipertiroid disease and according to my specialist, I shouldn't use toothpastes that contains fluoride. According to this video toothpastes without fluoride doesn't clean enough, I'm kinda confused.
