Would you please share you thoughts on the shoulder retraction exercise with arms straight out versus an external rotation exercise with the elbows glued to my sides and externally rotating my forearms out from the body. I've been having pain in my elbow, but it's on the outside, not the inside area. It feels like my elbow is bruised in between the bones. It affects my entire arm and sometimes even the inside of my armpit. What could this be?

Ahh, it could be lateral epicondylitis or it might be more your triceps as it attaches onto the backside and attaches all the way up into out shoulder.
