Its fun watching. When he's not looking at the board he's talking about ITPs. Then LITERALLY TH SECOND AFTER SAYING ISTP, INTP he looks at the board and says "and these people, ISTP and ISFP are ESPECIALLY sensitive!!!" Im learning lots about how easy you can trick an ENTP :P Get them off on their specialist subject, then screw with their powerpoints and see how long they take to notice :)

I literally cried when you explain ENFJs Ti fear. I remembered one day in Elementary School when our class had a multiplications test and I was the last one to finish, I even had to skip lunch. My classmates made fun of me calling me stupid several times. I went to a private restroom and cried so hard that my head hurt and was pumping. Turns out I got the best grade. Since that day, I promised myself to be more patient with myself :’) You lectures are treasures to hear, thank you so much!

Funny because I was never consciously aware or proud of that aspect, but my ego was definitely affected when it was that aspect that was being attacked. That was enlightening. Thank you. I'm and INFP and my dad is an ENTJ and we tend to get into arguments all the time even though we get along pretty well and share similar interests. This series, especially this video, is helping me realize why. Like duh our heroes are the other's inferior and it's like oh yeah we r just whacking each other's inferior function all the time no wonder he gets on my nerves and vice versa.

INFP: When I feel stressed out my way of solving things (which is usually putting them off to the last minute) is to be very direct and to the point, rather than waste time (and possibly be inauthentic). Sometimes in order to get things done, I have to set aside my own feelings (although it is vastly uncomfortable) and just do what I think is most "logical," putting one foot in front of the other and not getting overwhelmed by what COULD happen. I think my inferior Te manifests in this way, personally. OH BUT NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT! I initially recoiled at the desire for popularity bc I am more of a shut-in and if someone doesn't like me I usually have a "good riddance" attitude about it BUT if I still like the person then I HATE not being liked. Even if a person eventually started treating me like garbage I would desire to reconcile and be on good terms.

i (an infj) always knew i wanted to be a singer since my earliest memory. as a child i often did 'shows' for my family. my estj mother crushed my inferior by saying i couldn't sing. it's even on old family tapes: me playing an imaginary guitar shouting lyrics, and then her walking by telling me to quit it. i wonder what would be now if she had nurtured my inferior instead. but well, i was too afraid to sing publicly for the next 15 years until i could overcome it somewhat.

You have put my life in words omg. When i was in 2nd grade and i made my first failing grade (a 50) i cried bcuz i didnt want to disappoint my parents. Im constantly afraid that when people meet me im too quiet (i am). But when i open up and can talk to them i feel like i talk too much and annoy them. When i went thru puberty and grew boobs and an ass i went up a couple of sizes and was afraid that everyone would think i was fat and i was always the skinny not bad looking girl and i didnt want to disappoint people like i let myself go. When i learned how to drive a car period, and then when i learned to drive a standard; anytime i did something wrong like breaking to hard, turning too fast, not shifting the gears right and grinding them, forgetting yo signal, sliding on slippery wet roads, just ANYTHING i would say *sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry sorry* super fast and repeatedly. My mom had totell me to stop apologizing when i did things i felt were bad. It wssnt bcuz i thought they were just bad. Its bcuz i didnt want to give a bad experience to her while she was teaching me to drice. Im starting to learn how to get over it with rhese videos but for most of life (and i hadnt realized it until these videos) ive been afraid of disappointing, underperforming, and not reaching expectations set by my parents (as loving and wonderful as they are, the expectations were there bcuz they know how capable i am), teachers, family, society, friends, bosses, etc. And its nice to start breaking free of that. I can literally feel the weight being lifted off of my and my chest isnt so tight anymore

I'm an INFP as well and that part didn't quite ring true for me either. It's not reputation that matters. Basically people who matter to me, and those are few.

You must have slipped into your ISFJ subconscious midway through this lecture because towards the end it seemed like I got more of a sermon than a lecture 😅😅😅. However, it's cool. Midway through, I just recognized that one of my anxieties through tutoring online is seeing students for the first time and not feeling fully prepared. I guess that is my performance anxiety. Knowing this helps because now I know what I need to look out for in my transition towards Business Consulting. Off topic, I actually saw a connection of mine who introduced me to interaction styles on a KZbin video with the author Linda Berens ... 🎎 small world.

When you got to the “no one can out..” portion it got really interesting because I started thinking about the INTP functional stack of Ti,Ne,Si,Fe and correlating it to each point you made on those 4. If Ti is utilized correctly no one can out argue thenm because of the level of curiosity for truth and and verification of its details. If Si is used correctly you can utilize and sustain your endurance for focus/activity. Ne gives you great predictive skills especially after research done using Ti. And Fe allows for the ability to share and distill that information concisely and connect with others. Comes off like INTPs have the potential to be very “Oracle” like types. I may not have that all right, but what you’re sharing is very helpful toward figuring out what a healthy/efficient version of my type(INTP) is capable of. Great video.

I'm pretty sure that I'm also an intp and since I'm almost 60 yo, I think of myself as mature, however, I have my share of insecurities, but haven't really been conscious of fearing that I'm not giving enough. Like its really not even on my radar. Also, although I know that I know that I know that I'm a logical thinker, but never would I assume that I'm the smartest person in the room. The rest of this totally fits and I was so relieved and it brought me such joy to realize that I'm an intp. I also knew I was unique, but I guess I just feel validated. MGM--have you seen the compatibility episode? We should pop some popcorn for Chase and argue about something? I'm a terrible debater so I'm sure I would bow out quickly.

Ann Hinz, it’s amazing when you find out that there is a reason that you have always felt miss understood....... it doesn’t help in being understood, any better, by others but it does bring understanding and a “kind of” peace to ones self, and the ability to begin the process of believing in, and trusting yourself...... it really is so healing! Being of mature age doesn’t mean your personality is mature. You said that you haven’t really been conscious of not giving enough........ I don’t think anyone is really conscious of themselves “especially the insecure parts” until someone holds a mirror up to us, like Chase is doing in this vid, and shows us....... I think consciousness, to all our parts, brings real maturity. I love the discomfort that comes with all this....... growth is always painful!

@@annhinz6326 I believe I'm also INTP and though I know I'm smart I also know there are smarter people than I out there. I think that's just an INTP thing. I frequently think I'm probably not the smartest person in the room ... but then other people start talking. Haha. Anyway, I guess in short we're smart enough to know we cant be the smartest, but in reality, one of us out there probably is and they're currently thinking the same thoughts we think. I'm probably overanalyzing it, but that's the INTP way.
@TheCatricana

For me it’s less that I think I’m the smartest, it’s more that I’ve gotten accustomed to other people not having as much accumulated knowledge. I research so intensively on things that catch my curiosity, that my “casual” knowledge on a topic is regularly more extensive than a person who has actually been actively involved in that topic. In that sense I do often assume that, unless I know NOTHING about the topic, then other people will probably not be satisfying sources of additional knowledge. Not being a source of further information is definitely a different classification than being stupid.

I think it finally clicked for me that cognitive synchronicity is why the aspirational functions can become stronger than the Hero function in small bursts. It's like the the functions on each end are each others energy pools. The functions are fed by each other so if you can put focus on your 4th function and push back the fear you essentially become like Naruto tapping into the Nine Tailed Foxes chakra.

Since it takes the least amount of energy to use your hero function, it would make sense that it's opposing inferior function would take effort. This is a very interesting lecture and I find it very interesting how the inferior function is so influential yet very difficult to control. I’ve noticed being an Se inferior that there are moments in performance whether it’s sports or gaming where everything clicks but the funny thing is I can’t think my way into this state it just kinda happens and feels out of my control. A good example recently was when I was on the driving range hitting some golf balls, there was this phase where I was just hitting every ball perfectly and during the time I felt outside myself and my mind was blank but then I started thinking about my shots and that was where my performance decreased but the thing is I can’t just will myself into this state I just kinda have to let go. INTJ w. Se Inferior here - This is the exact same phenomenon when I am playing the drums. When my mind goes blank, I become super fluid moving around the drum kit, perfect timing, feeling the groove etc. But as soon as I become self conscious, I become more stiff and less fluid and loose that 'feel'. I don't want to attribute all of my skill to 'Se', because a lot of skill falls back on what you practiced, no matter your personality type. But, it is interesting to think about.

By me feeling guilty about my lack of care, I would find ways to help them, but they would think I’m doing it because they are burdening me. I remember recently my mom told me why I’m being socially distant from my brother. I never thought I was throughout the years. She told me my brother’s theory was that I never liked him and used to be mean to him. I got upset and break down how I show I care for him with proof. I would do this until people from my past told me I was actually doing that and now I would feel guilty thinking about it. I would do nice things for him now because I don’t know how much trauma I caused. I know I seem like I’m keeping my distance socially as if I’m being cold but I’m afraid to approach him and talk to him about what I did. I really care for him. Good thing I’m in therapy to learn how to deal with my past. You really nailed it in this video 👍🏾

I can't thank you enough for making this lecture. Ever since I watched this, I've made it a habit to try meet the other person's Inferior functions need (like listening to Ti inf logic) ... I was skeptical at first but now, it's truly amazing to see how people change when they go aspiring mode. Like a couple of ESFJs I knew, are wayy smarter than I thought, probably more than me

I actually have a hard time telling people that I don't have friends. Not really sure what to do about it. I remember saying it once to my mom and I think she started crying or just looked really saddened by it. I didn't really know how important was to tell people that. I'm an INFP.

Im watching this again. I agree with nature of having si inferior. I'm an ENFP, and I'm very insecure with myself. All the fears that you said are totally true. I also tend to stuck in a comfort zone because I fear of doing something I never did before, omgg. This explained why I keep on doing the same thing that I already know over and over again to a point of I'm become so good in that one thing. I will only move or venture into the unknown when there is not other choice left. Thank you Chase for all your lectures. I've been learning about this and trying to grasp all that I can. Really appreciate your work. 👍🏻🙏🏻

I can't thank you enough for the videos. Like... these videos are free...??? Anyone is accessible to them. It's great! Also, as an INFP who was having a hard time believing in my own powers and not understanding what I can do, after I watched your INFP vs INTP video. (I did it for my INTP friend, so I can understand him better) I realized that my role in a group or an organization was very important. After that, I was working with a group with a voting contest. I became the predicter and the idea person. Strangely, people were taking my ideas as if they were amazing. Like... that actually never happened before within groups that they just followed my ideas without a doubt. It was absolutely weird also great. Boosted my confidence to another level. Also, I think I used some sudden burst of Te here and there. (Made me feel really drained after 7 days) But helped me see my reactions to situations or how I perform in different situations. Thank you! I see better patterns with my actions.

ENTPs are awesome when they are aspirational. When they are vengeful they sure know how to use their empathy to land painful emotional blows. It’s like the people who are capable of caring for you in a way that is most meaningful are also able to hurt you the most severely. We should be careful is right.

Great video! I like how you connect all the important pieces together. I'm an INTJ and I feel like I'm missing something in life. I've tried to dedicate to myself to many things, people, religions, ideas, mind states, etc., but nothing ever stays. I feel like there should be something always inside me to keep me going, and there were times where I've felt that and maintained that for a while, but then one day I wake up and it's gone. 1. Do you have any clue what I'm talking about? 2. What makes you the way you are? 3. Are there days where you're in your super ego with a "fuck everyone" attitude?

I remember that when my aunt wanted help and I help and asked money properly I got almost scolded by my mom for asking money in the first place - that really surprised me and showed me what she thinks about me or my work. This guy is a genius. I actually started to type people around me because all of his knowledge he piled up. It became so easy with his methods, and they work! It's good he collected these pieces of knowledge and then shared them, especially with the goal to make the world a better place. And I can finally be a better person, as my child function wants. I can identify myself with these goals. And also, I finally understand why my marriage went down... And why I have no courage to initiate social interactions, relationships... This should be taught in school as it is. Still many videos to watch. I am making notes of these. Thousand thanks, Chase.

I'm an INFJ, and I have done a lot of coping with my Se as an inferior. I lost over 100lbs, I learned to dress well, and eat right. I learned a lot about healthy living through it. I also want to be a singer/rapper. I struggle with getting my voice to work when I try to sing around people, especially those who have been critical of it. I practice anyway. I've been playing guitar and singing in public as an exercise in fighting my own fear and insecurity, and that alone has helped me tremendously. As I learn to access my Se I become more confident. I used to lead my shift at work, and when i worked and sang (and they would compliment my singing) it would help me to lead my team successfully and confidently. Edit: The sex bit is very true, too. I worry about all the time even though I usually get high marks.

I am most likely an istp. I remember growing up with my best friend who's an Enfj and being jealous of her/ admire her because she was so good with people and people would always come to her if they if something bothered them. Growing up i always thought to myself that people don't care, but tbh that was just projection probably. I was the one that didn't seem to care. I've taken steps to be more caring towards others, and it has helped greatly. I do wish i could give 14 year old me a hug and say the same, and that it's okay to need others.
