My late teens: Ne-parent : It's time to do things differently or all of these terrible things could happen. Ti -hero : Nah, I'll figure it out. My early 20's Si-child : You're super cool Ti-hero, but maybe Ne-parent was right. Look at all the damage. Ti : You're right Voila, personal growth.

5:26 there are tons of sources online for all kinds of psychology-related content. But most of it is copied from other people who have bad information. So when people start look mbti up they find lots of people talking about very basic information that is fundamentally flawed. And its reinforced by everyone else who got that bad info the same way. Thats why I got fed up with it a few years ago, but my interest in this topic recovered when I saw your videos.

Mbti is inherently flawed because Myers and Briggs tried to turn jungs typology into personalities. Jungs types aren’t personalities, they’re the cores of personalities, your core value structure and how you process information. Your type says if your going to throw something, your personality says whether or not you throw a brick, a rotten banana, or a water balloon

@Serpentine Crone Well to be fair, much like most people. people barely scratch the surface with MBTI just like Astrology. I bet you didn't know but Astrology in accordance with it's deeper level understanding into your Birth Chart actually shows a person is made up of 22+ Zodiac Signs all each dictating a certain way a person acts in regards to different parts of their life and goes into detail with how they all intertwine with eachother. But no just like MBTI, people are like "I'm Scorpio, which means I go BRRRR"

Always flunked penmanship myself (and I’m not even a leftie). How we write is how we write. I always liked the handwriting analysis part on crime shows. Also: loved when you said, “If you disrespect the parent function, IT WILL OWN YOU.” I have seen this in action with my loved ones.

My dad is an intp and I'm an into, I typed him myself after carefully observing him for a few years. Observing when he expressed his Si child is endearing, it appeals to my Fi by telling me of the good times and experienced we had. I always thought he was very negative with many things, that's likely his Ne parent. He doesn't like my Ni vision or even my Te when I get all bossy on everyone to get things done. It's impressive how much one can improve family relationships with just a little bit of learning, patience, and great people like CS Joseph, you truly know how to explain things Thank you

23:35 very funny timing- I have Se parent and I had a come-to-Jesus discussion with my 7 year old about not being so cautious about something she really wanted to do. I am a laid back dad, but I was like “LOOK, either jump in the water or don’t. But I know you want to, so just do it. That voice in your head telling you not to is a jerk- and you’ll regret not doing it. Make a choice now, though, or I’m going to go do something else instead.” She listened and couldn’t stop diving for like an hour. She was so happy- just needed someone to give it to her straight. I love that Se parent in me for things like that.

Tales from the INTP (part 3): I recently pissed off someone i believe to be an INFJ. Drunk INTP = unformulated, impulsive, arrogant jerk INTP i suppose (arguing for the sake of it, making ludicrous daisy chains of reason in the moment). She was furious that i disrespected the other party in our group by not listening to his story, being argumentative and thinking i was critiquing his point whilst actually just repeating what he said. She called me on it. Strike 1. Then, because i was being a child, i came back at her for being judgemental and manipulative. Strike 2. Then when we patched things up, i threw in a sarcastic call back to her accusation that i was manipulative and insincere. Strike 3. Door slam. FE parent is a beast. I'm now dead to her. She told me as much. :)

I'll add a few more: Don't be arrogant. Don't think they're playing mind games and take it as a fun challenge to mirror what you think they're doing by playing back. Take them seriously. Don't tell them they're being just as manipulative as you for calling you out randomly when they've come to the "truth" of your manipulative nature. And don't above all, be drunk near them as an intp (ENTJ shadow, and when drunk probably a really immature ENTJ). What seems judgy, manipulative, aggressive, and apparently from out of nowhere, probably has a locus. Chat back, get slapped. Chat back twice when they've literally just given you the benefit of the doubt, get slammed. I'll be honest. As an INTP, i don't get challenged much about being an asshole. I really admire that she went there.

ISFP here. Would love a video about how you view DaveSuperPowers explanations of the cognitive functions. For example, he says Se is fact gathering and Si is organizing facts. He never talks about Se experience or short term memory, however I have found that when I combine his understanding of the functions with yours, it gives me a fuller picture and better understanding of how they work. You both seem to fill in the gaps in different ways. Anyway, would love a video about that!

Yeah i disagree with those definitions of the S functions. Si is more like storing information for long term use and Se is just keeping information for short term use.

having se parent is interesting.. i love making people as comfortable as possible. i dont expect thank yous for it.. when said people start complaining that they "have it hard".. i start doing less for them because i realize the only way to toughen them up is to do this, then they realize what hard actually is (and how easy they actually had it before). it always works.. they actually learn how to do more.. and it builds their strength and endurance. i love doing this.. others might find it cruel, eventually they realize the method to my madness.

I didnt appreciate how Fe Parent gives me my sense of duty, as an INFJ. "I will help Joe sweep the snow off the car this morning; it is my duty to do so; God forbid I should not help, because that woul be socially irresponsible" Another example: "No I will not joke with that moralistic Ti user to not bump his head on the way out because it is not polite to do so, even though I would dearly love to say it, but no, I will not do it because social responsibility is tantamount." Even though I am a rebel, social values, doing the right thing...being a help, thinking of others, that is what drives Fe Parent, not overcoming social anxiety, which would be forcing myself to be more than I can be, something that has been tripping my understanding up about Fe Parent. I was told I grow by developing Fe Parent "auxiliary Fe.' Not exactly true, as I gave my all to Fe Parent at the expense of myself as a child.... The well being of the group took precedent over the well being of myself, not good, unless of course developing Fe means learning to say no to it, and then I would agree. So I quote: "Adversity develops the parent function; adversity matures the parent function. Your response to adversity grows your parent function. Your parent function protects the inner child."

How do I get my INTJ to be more responsible and use her Te parent? She’s been stuck in the Ni-Fi loop for as long as I’ve known her, and I’m afraid she’ll never come out of it. We’ve both graduated and become adults, but she isn’t doing anything with her life and I’m scared for her bc I know she has so much potential and it would be so sad if she wasted it. I’ve already done everything I need to do to get where I need to go in life, and I try to tell her about it to inspire her, like “ you can do this too! You can do even more!” But she just responds by calling herself incompetent and complaining about how everyone’s life is working out except hers. She is very depressed. I feel like she needs someone to criticize her and set her straight but, I’m an ENFP and I have no idea how to criticize people. Every time I do, it turns into some kind of motivational speech 😅. So, does anyone know what I should do? Is there anything I even CAN do to help her?

Just wandering, could Si be viewed as personal experience? For example, me being an INTP with Si child, I sort of view it as me being very childish with the experiences I want to have, as well as being too quick and immature to want to be loyal to others and have duty and the stuff you talked about for Si child. I also think that Ne Parent causes me to look at other people with suspicion on their intentions, and my Ne Parent is responsible by protecting my Si child from getting experiences that I want because of the possible bad intentions of other people that might hurt me.

I also think that Ne for me has allowed me to explore and have experiences. Before that, I had a tendency to be a know-it-all-person (towards others)

Trauma in childhood and early teens severely drowns the parent function. I wonder what happens if it becomes the least developed finally.

I just figured out another way to distinguish Te from Ti natal chart-wise, Te is inherently more 9th houseish and Ti is inherently more 11th/12th houseish, even though I covered that to a degree with naming Capricorn Rising "The Motivational Guard" where Pisces Rising is more fitting of Ti as the "Emotion Strategist", even though it's mostly Aquarian in nature, but Pisces Risings are the real Aquarius'.

This makes sense. For INTJs, they call this phenomenon the Ni-Fi loop (I think a portion of INTJs confused themselves for INFJs because of it). Also, it could be nice if these videos could be released a little earlier 😎. I'm on the east coast and am about to stress my Te parent and Ti critic function tomorrow by figuring out numerical advection problem on behalf of a student I am supposed to be tutoring this week.

@@prayer0308 My theory: He's an exceptional ENTP searching to (re)gain homeostasis. He often gets triggered & demonstrates rigid Subconscious Traditionalist (ISFJ) behaviors. If one has a very superficial level of PT knowledge, it can be easy to allow the latter to render one typing him as other than the former. Which, evidently, occurs quite often.

🥲🥲🥲 @22:00 minutes: adversity breeds maturity. I always wondered why foster kids seemed to be so mature for their age. I knew logically why they had to mature, but I don't realise the cognitive function link. The foster kids had to mature their parent function to stop their child function from being used or be taken advantage of 🥲🥲🥲 that's heart breaking ☹️
