He avoided the biblical literalists that believe that the modern Jewish state is a prophetic event that started in 1948 summoning the second coming of Christ. It could be prophesy, or it could be a self fulfilling prophesy perpetuated by biblical teaching & end times expectations. Hallelujah!

That is simple. If you have reaed any of Ayn Rand's work on philosophy, you will know that she has said "Religion is a primitive form of philosophy" . As such, it conforms to the form of philosophy. There are five "branches" of philosophy METAPHYSICIS: how the world works. EPISTEMOLOGY; what do I know and how do I know it? ETHICS: What is to be done; how do I tell good from evil. POLITICS; how is ETHICS applied in a social system. ESTHETICS. the philosophy of art Now, Metaphysics and Epistemology are irreducible primaries in philosophy; you cannot discuss them fully without going outside the bounds of philosophy to fine out how the world works and how we work as sentient-sapient creatures. It is from the answers provided by these two branches of philosophy that we derive what we must, ought and may do as well as what we ought not, may not and must not do. The codified resutls of such inquiry is called morality. Politics is the application of morality to social life. Why is government needed, what should it do and not do? If there were no other persons on Earth, I would not need any such concepts as "state" or "individual rights". The correlation of religion and politics is just a subset of the correlation of philosophy and politics. An excellent article on the matter is in THE VIRTUE OF SELFISHNESS and is called "Faith and Force: The Destroyers of the Modern World". Once you understand that, then you will understand how those claiming to be holy have sold their souls to a coveteous, adulterous, deceitful human turd and why the Evangelicals should be scoured from the Political Right, having become as much a cult of personality (If RedState is to be believed) as the Stalinists. When your Metaphysics in mysticism, your Epistemology is faith, your ethics are those of self-immolation. your politics can only be those of a robotic non-entity. You have nowhere else left to go and you will even be willing to turn the Republican Party into a criminal enterprise in your blind devotion to a crook

There have been real-world links between religiouus institutions. Dr. Mayhew teaches at Seton Hall. in ghd '73 - 75 timeframe, I was an intellectual "hot property [in the sense of a high-quality ballplayer]" at Providence College in the Philosophy, Western Civ and Religious Studies Dept's. If I understand correctly, "The Hall" is a Dominican institution like PC. Did not Rand name her cat after Aquinas? In the form of ERGO, we got involved in the Hillsdale vs the Feds business. There was also some ongoing dealings bewtween an Objectivist group and Pepperdine. If you youtube up theobjectivestandard, you will find that there was a debate at the University of Texas featuring an Dr. Berenstein titled "Christianity: Good or Bad for Man?". I remarked that it was not that simple. Good or bad compared to what? Just what percentage of the alternatives to religion do you think Objectivism is? I have pointed out that, compared to what the overwhelming bulk of what the secular alternative has to offer.., Christianity stands head and shoulders above it, having openly embraced Nihilism by mid-'58, to which Thomism; the Domincan branchy of the Aristotlean family, is far superior. and let me paraphrase Rhand here: A man with principles, even the wrong ones, is better than a man with none. What was not being understood in that debate is that this was a 3-body problem: Nihilism, Christianity and Objectivism. If you wish to understand the REAL reason for the fall of Roe v Wade, and why it was proper. understand this; since 1989, the "Pro-Choice" side, when asked if the fetus is a living thing, made it a policy to xay "we don't care to get involved in philosophy [i.e. conceptual discussion]". If A is A, the brothers had asked for it: They got it in the Dobbs decision, though not explicitly. I saw this coming in '08
