What Is The Difference Between Arab and Muslim?

What is an Arab? What is a Muslim? And what is the difference between Arabs and Muslims. It can be confusing for some and most aren't taught the difference between Arab and Muslim. In this video I will explain the differences between Arabs and Muslims as well as the history of Arabs, Islam, and Muslims. I will also cover Middle Eastern geography and history. In a world with 422 million Arabs and over 1.7 billion Muslims it is important to understand both Arabic and Islamic culture. Hopefully this video gives you a basic introduction. If this video sparks your interest in the subject please research more to get a more in-depth answer.

The ottomans ruled up to Vienna in the north Yemen to the south Iraq in the east and Morocco to the west. That was the peak of Ottomans under the sultan Suleiman Al-qanoni as we call him in our Arab history books from Suleiman's death the empire started to degrade gradually. Their history is actually quite fun to read and they were the longest dynasty to rule the Islamic caliphate (450 years).

For example I (a mexican guy) am 1/4 nahua and 3/4 spaniard wich is known in my contry as a 'castizo', thats my ethnogenetic group, but an afrocaribean from Cuba, a mayan from Guatemala or a blonde guy from Uruguay are not in the same ethnogenetic group. you confused the middle east with western Asia. The middle east is a transcontinental region. Egypt is also in the middle east and the only African nation in the middle east. The reason to why this confusion happens is because the west translated the "Maghreb" into "north Africa" but the 2 are not the same. The Maghreb region starts with Libya and ends with Morocco. The Mashriq region(which is the middle east) includes Egypt, the Levant nations, Iraq and the Arabian peninsula. It wouldn't be called "middle east" if Egypt was not included, it would just be called "western Asia", and we know that The Middle East and Western Asia are not synonymous. The term “Middle East” was actually popularized in Egypt by the British due to the importance of the Suez canal and it was also applied to the countries between Suez and the Persian Gulf and it later became officialized by the state department of the United States during the Suez canal crisis in the 1950′s and it only included the following countries…Egypt, Syria, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. Turkey, Iran, Palestine, Yemen, Oman, UAE and Cyprus were later added.
