@@raisinrobby6955 the entire 70s werent weak. I'd say around '74 was the first season it was apparent. because all of the great late 60s/early 70s teams and players were either gone or aging out. it's part of the reason the celtics won two rings then, they still had at least 2 all time greats in Havlicek and Cowens that were still very productive towards winning. before that the Reed/Frazier Knicks, West/Wilt Lakers and Oscar/Kareem Bucks were still fantastic all time teams. it was fairly top heavy compared to the very talented 60s (ironic considering the celtics won all but 1 ring in the decade) but it wasn't lackluster teams with 1 all time good player like the rest of the 70s till around '80-'84 when all time greats like IT, Magic, Bird, Jordan, Hakeem etc started getting drafted, and cause completing college was the done thing then they were super productive from day 1 and really filled the vaccuum the NBA desperately needed to fill. the '72 Lakers for example are probably a top ~5 team ever, even considering their one ring. The 72 Lakers beat a 63 win Bucks team with Kareem that just came off a championship, not to mention swept a 57 win Bulls team in the first round. Regardless of how weak the Knicks were in the finals, that Lakers team proved themselves in the earlier rounds.

@moses96474 жыл бұрын
I'd put '11 Mavs over the '08 Celtics. Those Celtics have the worst playoff record for a championship team (16-10 I believe). LeBron and 4 guys from the rec center took them to 7. They got it done but the '11 Mavs swept the championship Lakers, ran through KD and Russ, then slapped up the Heatles. Way more impressive imo

I understand what you're saying about the 1995 Rockets, but I don't think the logic holds up. First of all, if the 1995 team is a single champion, then so is the 1994 team. And if the addition of one player is that significant, the Knicks added Jerry Lucas and Earl Monroe between their 1970 and 1973 titles, the Lakers lost Trevor Ariza and gained Ron Artest for the 2010 season, and the 2014 Spurs had Kawhi Leonard and Boris Diaw (invaluable to their championship) who were not on any previous Spurs championship team. Also, how did you leave out the 1971 Bucks?
@jcplays38422 жыл бұрын
Jxmyhighroller did a similar vid on the most difficult to win, statically ‘95 Rockets had the hardest run to a championship. Followed behind the ‘01 lakers and ‘97 bulls. Me personally i think either 01 lakers or ‘16 cavs edit- in context of greatest team: 2017 Warriors, hate ‘em all you want but there was no team in history that could beat them.

I agreed with the cavs being number 1 but the 04 pistons for me might as well be my top pick as the best single champion. Just the magnitude of the opposition in the finals alone was enough reason to put them there. They we're the heaviest underdogs and nobody thought they can win it all but they almost sweep them if not only for somewhat a lucky yet clutch shot from kobe. It was shocking that they manhandled the 04 lakers with prime shaq, athletic prime kobe, a great payton and an old but experience malone.
