Jury concerns itself on questions of facts and the judge in the trial deals with issues of law. The problem is facts can be manipulated confusing an unsophisticated jury on complex cases like convoluted financial crimes. All it takes for a defense attorney is sow doubts in the minds of the jury.

Imagine if you got a group of random chosen jury that has no training in law or ability in logic. Even if you did nothing against the law, you may still get punished just because those random unqualified people decided you to…

Isn't jury system already exist before US independence? I think USA copied jury system from English, the way its explain seems like american create this system. The philosophy behind jury system is good but too idealistic, people can be easily manipulated especially when dealing with complex crime, also jury system is too optimistic about public wisdom from layman who may not have any basic idea about law

Well that explained nothing. Why does the US courtsystem invite bunch of random peple and have them dictate the judgement on the defendant? They cud toss it off as a joke! Demand death sentence for shoplifting for example. It wud be insulting for me personally if my sentence wud be decided by a gang of emotional and ignorant people who dont have the same appriciation to finer points of casting judgement that a professional judge that has been edjucated for years has. One can not simply make a random bypasser off the street that has no edjucation nor experience in law, the equal of a highly edjucated and experienced judge. The legal system in western countries is founded upon the ideal of fair trial but that does mokery of that ideal. What purpose do the judges have? havent they all been made unnessesary by the existence of the jury? Prove me wrong. I wud much more like to be judged by edjucated professionals (the procecutor, the judge ) than random people professionally-unedjucated in the field. We dont live in the jungle, therefore we dont need to follow the laws of the jungle and the customs of the jungle.
