It came from indigenous tribal dancing which contained all their spiritual and cultural beliefs etc. In this dance is also their martial arts all one harmonious system. All the hand postures have spiritual meanings even the footwork patterns is spiritual patterns. They tattooed suites of magic and powerful armor really awesome stuff and nobody in the West is writing on this I have all the video footage to the oldest arts it's amazing. Still very much alive today you can easily tell and see the roots of Bagua etc.

Well I would not go as far as to link it to tribal dancing, yes at some point they may have intersected and had some influence on each other, but a warrior only trains that which keeps them alive and kills the opponent,they probably did not take the time originally to make it a dance.
