Well, he's in the last third of the game. There's still a couple progression items and 3 bosses left. So probably about 4 episodes left with backtracking for secrets, though maybe 3 since he usually makes the finale a longer video.

The flame dash effect was glitching, it only has a short amount of time that it's actually burning, and should then show it ending. I didn't have most of these graphical issues in my playthrough, very strange.

@@riemaennchen I believe this is a recording of his stream, not a local recording of his gameplay (I don't think he ever does local recordings of his gameplay to upload to KZbin anymore). The FPS of his stream is not consistent so visual effects relying on a certain constant FPS (60 in this case) won't look quite right in the video. I believe Jerd is just blind as a bat. Any sane person would've started doing some tests as soon as they noticed the inconsistency in it damaging things/breaking candles. Edit: Lol, okay, I guess he finally figures this out.

It's mainly for weak enemies and projectiles. When it comes to Death and Dracula, who both have a lot of projectile spam, it's a lifesaver.

As a little kid, the “Boomerang” was a funny one for me. My mom told me it was supposed to be a Cross, since the main villain (which I hadn’t encountered yet) was a vampire, so in a moment of clarity, kid me merged the two. It was a boomerang cross because vampires don’t like crosses, so a throwing cross that came back to attack with was smart. I went with Cross because I trusted her more, but yeah, team Crossmerang here. :)

The giant moon thing first appeared in SOTN called "Granfaloon" (a group of people who share a meaningless identity, a term from Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut). It was later renamed "legion" and has been a reoccurring boss ever since. It's basically a giant floating mass of semi lifeless humanoid bodies.

A tip with the Dash stone, there is one section of powerup, you'll know where it is when you see it, you will need to do back and forth motions with it avoiding flying skeletons.

With the Flame Dash all you have to do is keep repeatedly starting the dash to keep the flame active and it shouldn't be an issue.

Paradoxically, dashing and sliding are slow because they are at walking speed but make you crawl to a stop when they're done. Also a shame that the flame ash is only on startup of the dash...but it can be started infinitely if you're patient about it for a fire shield

I know I'm WAY late to the party on this, but for other people watching, it seems to me the "Meteor Dash" only deals damage during the first second or two per dash. EDIT: Never mind, he figured it out. XD Also, that is the COOLEST version of Granfaloon I've ever seen.

Just finished this game with 100% - really enjoyable 5 hours. I fucking LOVE the music in the Toy section. Easily my favourite in the game. I cheesed most of the game with the Holy Bible subweapon which is super cheap for basically a protect all shield you can use constantly. And it is THE weapon to use for the final boss anything else is really hard. The ice whip also does double damage. There is a demon boss coming up though after you get the thunder whip that I STRONGLY recommend using the powered up Laurels for (get the card for the laurels) as he does WAY too much damage and it's almost impossible to survive without it. Also use the card that enables hearts to drop from whip strikes and to heal HP with whips.

The meteor dash is only temporary. It protects you for the first one or two seconds of the dash, but then the flames fade and you'll take damage like normal. Edit: nevermind, didn't know Jared figured it out, I commented closer to the beginning of the video.

Flame Dash is not working as you think. When you first start to dash the aura around the character is more intense and can inflict damage. However after a short way it will get less intense and will stop causing damage and then you are vulnerable.

Meteor Dash or Heavy Boots (or both for good measure) is basically required to get a particularly annoying max up, and if you keep decent rhythm on retriggering the dash the flame shield will protect you from the enemies that count, like Medusa Heads and Winged Guards.
