I have had tinnitus for 30+ years. I learned to cope with it. What nearly drove me to suicide was what happened a couple of days after I had an implant installed in the very back part of my upper jaw. I started getting a popping in my ear nearest to the implant. I asked the oral surgeon at the follow up appointment if there was a connection between the popping and the implant. He said no, but something in me said it wasn’t true. After almost killing myself, I went to a place to get the wax removed. No change. Then I went to an ENT clinic, and had some tests done. Afterwards, the doctor there said she couldn’t see anything wrong. I suggested to her that maybe the eustacian tube was blocked or had an infection. She said it was possible. The popping never went away completely. It sometimes will show up, especially when I lay down on the side of the head where the implant was inserted, and I have to lay my head on the other side for it to stop. I have 5 other implants, and never had any problems with those. It’s been a few years, and I still think the surgery had something to do with the popping, and he wasn’t being honest. I could see how easily something could happen with just a tiny mistake during surgery, so close to the ear and eustacian tube.
