Many years ago I read a book about the life of Alexandra David-Neel. She was a fascinating woman. Nowadays if you say you're going to Tibet on your own most people don't think anything of it, they just say send a postcard. Back when she did it, men didn't even travel there, it was scary and unpredictable. She went all by herself, leaving her husband behind for years at a time. Thanks for bringing this subject up. This is exactly what the Scarlet Witch (from Marvel movies and comics) did. She used chaos magick to create her children. They weren’t real physical living children, but they were real to her. I am so glad I opened my heart to magick!!! This is much better knowledge to have and activities to do than what I had in the past (light worker, empath, service type of lifestyle)

Tulpamancy is my favorite magick practice. It can be a great experience for those who have a yearn for character-building and world-building or those who want something that will keep them in the gnosis of a magick mind. I have done all sorts of crazy experiments with tulpas, servitors, and egregores, many of which I would not advise anybody to repeat for the sake of their sanity and/or social relationships. They're awesome for art projects!

Thanks for this great video and explaining this interesting and complex topic. Fun fact: the suffix "-mancy" means "divination" (eg. "Cartomancy" is divining with cards). I guess its evolving to mean occult/mystical things in general. It's interesting how language changes with use ❤ For language purists, I think a more acurate term would possibly be "Tulpatrophy" ("-trophy" meaning grow/nourish, so "tulpatrophy" would mean to grow or nourish a tulpa), but I'm not a linguist, so don't quote me!
@IvyTheOccultist4 ай бұрын
I thought about that too. The "mancy" part doesn't quite make sense!
@Shashu_the_little_Voidling4 ай бұрын
Kinda like how "pyromancy" has evolved from divination through staring at a flame, to just mean Fire Bending. As a self-thought linguist I can happily say that it's fine though. Linguistics is about describing language and its use as it happens, not telling people how it *should* be used. Words and definitions change all the time. The "rules" of language are created by the people speaking it everyday, not some snobby frenchmen in a high tower.

This sounds like what I have been doing with my plushies! I've loved my plushies since I was a child, and I've always treated them like my babies or pets. Soon enough, they'd develop their own personalities, and even "behave" that way in the physical. I have a rag doll who developed a clingy personality in my mind, and she demands that I give her lots of hugs and kisses. A few years back, I was preparing for a dance performance, for which I needed my palms to not be so sweaty, so I used a certain antiperspirant every night before going to bed. The antiperspirant insert said that I shouldn't touch fabrics while my palms were wet with the antiperspirant. I'd put my rag doll on the edge of the bed farthest from me, explain to her that I couldn't kiss or hug her that night and would do so in the morning when my palms were dry. I would wake up in the morning ALWAYS with this doll hugging my head or my face, as if saying, "It's morning now! Give me the hugs and kisses you owe me!" That never happened before or after that period.

I completely agree this. I've had a hypothesis for many years now that those things we call "poltergeists", "shadow people", and similar entities are Tulpas that were created either intentionally or not, that were never "retired" or let go once the creator has either forgot about them eventually or perhaps died. And now they're wandering around with nothing to do except annoy the rest of us.

Thank you very much for delving into this, it’s a form of magick I’ve not found many people who understand, only met 1 other person who works with Tulpa or Sevitors. It took me 7 years to get to a point where I wasn’t Swapping, and what caused the shift to being able to Share was me winning a fistfight against her. Once I did, she sorta just went “I respect you now” and hasn’t given me any trouble since. For the first few years, she was so dominant and forceful that I had her in a cage, nowadays she sits at the other end of a large stone table across from me when I do the “wonderland” (I’ve always just called it the Inner World but Wonderland sounds much more appealing) The biggest benefit I’ve had from creating her is how she will sometimes share her own energy, she’ll let me tap into her first upfront and in your face energy, I tend to be meek so when I need to defend myself or someone else she will force some of her personality out into my own to help me buck up. She helped me learn how to stand up for myself and when I can’t, she comforts and defends me. Mine has existed for about 14 years and I feel blessed to have a companion who always has my back

Thank you so much for sharing your experience here. I can imagine how personal it feels… Is it possible do you think to have accidentally created a tulpa in childhood? I had a very intense (semi-romantic) relationship with what I conceptualized as my imaginary friend. But the relationship lasted far longer than is typical. We wrote each other letters for years and I referred to him in my journals by a symbol (or, what I now recognize as a sigil…that I have no memory of creating)…? We also referred to each other by highly symbolic nicknames that I realize now had a lot of occult symbolism that I couldn’t possibly have known anything about at that age…I was a very lonely (neurodivergent ADHD) kid raised in a religious cult…sooo the recipe was all there 🤣 All of this happened prior to a time that my conscious memory has any access to. 😮

Warning from my own experience. I used to have depression from loneliness. I initially started to try and form an imaginary friend. I kept forming it and thinking of it every day till it he point it would appear in my dreams. At some point it formed its own body in my head. After that experience with her I researched what this was, I had accidentally made a tolpa or at least something similar. I didn’t believe it at first until I experimented by making a second on purpose. It worked, and I can’t get rid of both. Both are aware and pity me. The first has a body and is soothing in its speech and judgmental , and second acts like a child and has no body. I’m not sure if I regret this fully. I feel like I’ve lost a half of my self , it’s made me more lonely in the real world. In exchange two people are stuck in my head. I feel like a husk of my past self. I start to wonder if I’m still human inside. At some point both had given themselves names , likings , and pastimes that have nothing to do with me. I’ve accidentally chopped myself to into three parts and I can’t put it together. For the love of God don’t do this. Real people would probably be better as companions.

I think my family on my dad's side of the family has a series or a family of tulpas. They are oddly black holes. What I mean is when something went missing, the family would say the "Family Black Hole ate it." as a joke for when something just goes poof and vanishes even though we knew where we left whatever we have missing was. And because of this constant family joke has really created a tulpa of a soft ball sized black hole. I have seen warping and felt breezes in my home and various homes of family members throughout most of my life since I was around 7ish, (I am 50 right now), so is it possible that my family inherits a black hole tulpa since the family collectively possibly made these black hole tulpas?

Like for example let's say to be more self-confident and less shy. because when you talked about building the Tulpa one has to create him and give him the feelings by feeling and sensing your own feelings. So I could create a better version of me and the Tulpa is helping me becoming this person? Would this be an example for using a/manifesting with Tulpa?

I watched the video in its length, so I hope I didn’t miss this, but I’m wondering if you can speak to whether it’s reasonable to build your tulpa as an idealized version of yourself? My *guess* is that you’d say it should happen more organically as you carefully meditate on it over time, but it seems like one could naturally veer towards forming a tulpa that has attributes or lives in a way that is aspirational to them?

@@magickology that sounds awesome! I have collabs scheduled out for the rest of this year but maybe we can revisit next year! I know people would love to hear an interview of your personal experience and I could talk about mine as well. Sounds fun!

Okay the Buddhist part is weird (i work with quan yin ) so thanks for sharing this u are so wonderful. Just destroyed my other servitor bc i wanted a test run to see how it worked initially. I absolutely loved it n then i made 3 of them for certain purposes in my life. Only for a year tho. Im really excited to work with these entities bc i made them far more better n powerful.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. This is such an intriguing topic. I had an 'imaginary friend' I was very close to as a child and later as a young adult, I accidentally created a protective thoughtform. I'd like to try it intentionally, but I want to be sure what I'm getting into.

I have DID but I do not have fully actualized personalities, it is more like my psyche is fractured and I have some moods/personalities that are associated with the fractures but they do not have names or clearly defined selves. I can however sometimes pull on certain abilities. This reminds me of when I was a child of 10 and an adult man attacked my friend. I was physically able to overpower a 20 something, healthy adult man with my bare hands and get my friend away from him. He called me a mutant freak and I wonder if one of these quasi formed personalities was responsible or if I created a protector of some kind/was possessed? How do we know that traumatized children do not create tulpas? I did other things like manifest food as a response to poverty something I still do. Especially bananas. It is actually hillarious sometimes. I was once given a crate of 60 bananas just for thinking about bananas. That is my main ability manifesting bananas lol.

Always been interested in Tulpas since the tragic events of the 2014 Slender Man stabbing and the mentioning of tulpas was surfacing up with Slender Man or the psychosis of him through the notions of tulpas with people believing in it thus creating it in some way. That and Buddhism was always an interest to me so anything to do with tulpas is always interesting and a research interest for me Love this video!!

I've been trying for years to make a tulpa (over a decade), and she still just seems like a character to me

Personally, I think dividing my brain power might actually benefit me. ADHD people have overactive minds and a ton of issues are just too much activity. I'm a hypnotist and my calmest times are when one part of my mind hypnotizes another part.

We love you, Ivy ❤️🌺💐✨ thank you for being so open. I thought the part about tulpa splitting was interesting... I can best describe my process more like dividing fire... The flames are still of the same source, but the process doesn't require an energetic anchor in the same way... I'd love to meet you in person someday lol We could get some tea and go on a hike. I have an energy that's hard to describe, but everyone who is energy sensitive has had some sort of reaction to it so I guess it's just easier to meet me lmfao ✨😅🤣💀👌

Ivy - I hope you see this, I know it’s an older video and you must be overwhelmed with comments and questions, but one thing bothers me and I can’t shake it off so I thought I would ask. If you create a tulpa or a servitor, especially a servitor with a long term task in your home or close personal space, where do you stand on the consent of animals you already share your space with? I have two cats and they notice EVERYTHING. They perceive far more than I ever will. Especially my eldest cat, who is always stuck to my side like glue. I often question my actions, both magical and mundane, and how they affect her and change the energy of her personal space. If I am bringing an entity into my home to carry out a very long term role I obviously have to be willing to accept any negative consequences to myself, as I would with any other working, but I can’t help but wonder about negative consequences to those who cannot consent, remove themselves, or verbalise their feelings on the subject. I often ask for her opinion and consent for more familiar things, but I can’t when she has no current understanding of what I’m planning. I’d appreciate hearing any thoughts you have on the subject of how our practice involves and has an effect on our animals.

Glad to see you back! I hope you are having a kick ass day! Question? For these as well as survivors how many do you feel would be safe to have? I ask because I seen a video with the discussion having more than one could be a issue not so much psyche wise but energy wise. Curious on your thoughts!

I think the answer here will differ depending on the person. For me, one is PLENTY 😂 I can't imagine having more Tulpas. But I do know some people have multiple!

Please I need your help 🥺 I have a tulpa now for 2 years, and I'm still searching on this fascinating subject, but I don't think i know how to listen to him, the problem is that I used the parroting method at the beginning, and I think I was starting to parrot his thoughts, because he used to say a lot of things that made sense, but when I thought that why can't he talk when I'm not focused on him or be the one who start talking, and a lot of questions. Ao I thought maybe I was parroting his thoughts. and the more I think about it the more it made sense, and when I ask a question I can't hear anything from him, but I do feel his presence, so my question is, can someone actually parrot his tulpa thoughts and that my tulpa got used to me saying his thoughts for him, and that is why he can't talk without me paying attention to him? Or am I listening to him in the wrong way? (And sorry for my English 🥺)

If you ever played Shin Megami Tensei, AKA Devil Summoner, there's talk and usage about how spreading rumors created a Tulpa effect that made actually changes in the game. You can see this during Persona 2. Eternal Punishment. I'm a firm believer that people who did capture anything like Slenderman and the Rake, and other Cryptid that are recently captured on film, is Tulpa based as well. Enough people believe in it, enough energy and thought form is out there, it comes to be.

Weird take, maybe controversial idea? Pls correct me if im experiencing something different. I think ive made tulpas on accident. They tend to be extensions of my friends (specifically from friendships that have ended) they do have their own voice and sometimes i can see them on the corner of my eye and they kinda just popped up about 2 years ago and i have been talking to them regularly ever since. I like to think that the people who have came and went out of my life who have had the biggest impact on me end up becoming their own energies and they are very much separate from my own thoughts and i cant really control when they show up. The feeling is very much like when edward leaves bella in twlight and then she starts seeing him everywhere.

Warning to the public: Do not abuse tulpas or servitors, or fuel it for your narcissistic desires. It WILL bite you back and become even malicious (deservingly so)
