Hey Josh, I am about to do the same thing to my 1997 20' Maritime. Will be using it to clam on the New Meadows and as a scallop dive tender. Thanks for the video! -Max Burtis

I don't have a Maritime but I have been involved in some deck replacements. That's quite a job you have going there.

it actually went better than expected don't get me wrong it was a battle I shed some blood sweat & tears and skin getting the old out but that's expected but went better than I thought it would. today is day two of the project I'll let it sit for a week before I put the deck back in

I hope it does. it's always nice knowing what your cutting into and I've found very little on the web. I'm guesstimating it will be 5-6 hundred pounds lighter. that's a lot for an 18-foot skiff

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! Are you going to raise the deck and scuppers when you go back with new?

No. Just replacing the deck and keeping it in the same place. I hope it helps you

@joshwelner1951 Жыл бұрын
@MikeSnedaker yes they are foam filled. I didn't dig into mine, but I haven't been able to work on the since I made the video. We got a lot of rain this summer witch held me up then I Through my backout, when the weather did straighten out a little bit? I'm hoping to finish this boat this winter/ Spring.

the older maritimes are absolutely badass just one was formerly set up to haul lobster traps but it wasn't well taken care of so I bought it for pennies on the dollar. the long game plan is it will be shoalwater lobster skiff for my kids.

@@joshwelner1951 that is gonna be a hell of a good boat fer that, nice and wide, and a got tall gunnel, a world of potential, wish my little 15' albacore (former) sail boat was that size but with my set up I can't complain to much, but yo my man got your self a proper boat

Josh I have the same boat but its a 2004. I just put a 2022 Suzuki 90 on it and it's a perfect size. How do you know if the boat is water logged like this? What do you think caused this to happen?

my Maritime had a very hard life before I got it. the hellholes worn through the hall on the bottom from hauling lobster traps and going ashore the kid that owned it at the time only screwed oak boards and caulking over the holes. so basically when I bought it I was just paying for the motor and I know I was buying a project
