The Texas medical center is a business that cares about 1 thing and 1 thing only: $$$. Houston ranks among the worst cities for unnecessary medical treatments, because of this. Additionally, memorial Hermann-tmc recieved a grade c for safety. Methodist almost lost CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) reimbursement. I could go on about all their terrible secrets. Marc Boom the CEO at Methodist is a total cuck, he put the medical staff in danger because he wanted to be the 1st in the nation to mandate vaccines. Now we have no staff and people are quitting left and right. Oh and during the very beginning days of the pandemic (March 2020) they didn’t even have N95 masks for staff working in the ED with positive covid patients (so much for safety and we care for our patients and staff).

Houston traffic is horrible during rush hour, but at least overall traffic moves. I go to Austin and there is a constant traffic jam every day of the week, i have never been to Austin and not come to a complete stop on the freeway the traffic there is hell on earth. Houston is much bigger than Austin, and yes Houston traffic can get really bad but at least its only temporary in Houston. Majority of the time if you want to go downtown at 1pm on a Wednesday you aren't going to be sitting in stand still traffic, its just rush hour in the morning and evenings traffic is the absolute worst in Houston. I've been driving in Houston traffic ever since i learned to drive, so when i go places and the traffic is worse than Houston that says a lot to me personally.

You may not have to use anything in the wintertime if you are used to dry weather. 😁 Cons - I-45 and 290 were ranked in the top 10 deadliest freeways in the US. Houston has those two.

You missed Memorial park. But when talking about neighborhoods, you really missed it. My brother lives in west university...very beautiful, but the best residential areas of Houston are River Oaks and the entire memorial are...miles and miles of extraordinarily beautiful real estate. The mansions of course are great, but the landscaping is unbelievable on even small properties. I lived in Houston for 11 years and Orange County, California for the last 37 years. There are no neighborhoods in all of Southern California that can compare with the memorial area of Houston

Talk to more locals if you need to find out more. Pearland and Pasadena are part of the greater Houston metro area, but if you can pick from the greater Houston metro area then there are a lot better areas to live in compared to Pasadena or Pearland when you have the greater Houston metro area to pick from.

Pasadena is trash . You're near chemical plants, which create massive air pollution . Dobie High School is okay. For Dobie, you need to be in RiverStone Ranch / SageMeadow neighborhood. Those neighborhoods are not bad nor dangerous. In fact; they're better than ones not mentioned in Pasadena area. Pearland is a decent area ( better than Pasadena of course ). However, both school districts are mediocre . Your best option are Katy, Sugar Land, Woodlands for the "suburb experience". Dobie High School is an exception if you're on a tight budget. But for a family , go to katy, sugar land, woodlands, Cypress also.

Plenty of in laws lived there so I've made that 300 mile/3hour drive many times. Houston grew large very quickly for one reason, there were very few zone laws. You could build anything next to anything. You might have houses next to a nightclub, next to a church, next to a topless bar, next to laundromat, next to bank. Houston changed for the worse in every way in 2005. With Katrina poised to hit New Orleans, Houston volunteered to accept thousands until the storm blew over and they could return home. The problem is they never did. New Orleans pulled an end around and never rebuilt those areas, washing their hands of folks from the bad areas. Houston saw it's crime statistics skyrocket as what was known as the "Katrina Trash" plied their trades.

Houston grew large because of business friendly governance and the oil and gas industry. Houston overtook New Orleans as the leading oil and gas hub decades ago. So many Louisianians moved here because of it. In Louisiana, it's called the "brain drain" because many oil and gas professionals (engineers, geologists, and associated professionals like landmen, etc.) followed the jobs and opportunity (me included - though I'm not including myself in the brain category) Regarding Katrina, I think the overall effect was short lived. I don't think Houston has been burdened by it since 2010 or so, IMO. But I'm not saying this to downplay your comment. But I doubt Nola decided not to rebuild those areas because they didn't want the evacuees to come back. That seems like a convenient story. If it's true, they're certainly no better off today.

True seemed there was certain areas where they settled in and never left. The area around Antoine and Tidwell was one. Before Katrina it was a good area. Now it's bad .I know several people that lived in that area that moved out for that reason. A lot of businesses there closed.

Meh. Dallas and Ft Worth are 2 separate cities in 2 separate counties, Dallas and Tarrant counties. And combined, they have a smaller population than Houston, though the combination of the two is a bit more in size - about 738 sq miles between FW and Dallas, and a little over 600 just for Houston. Houston has twice the land of all 5 boroughs in NYC combined. We are in the process of completing our 3rd loop around the Houston area, the Grand Parkway/Hwy 99. When completed, it will be about a 300 mile loop around greater Houston. Beltway 8, the middle loop around Houston, is almost 90 miles. And I-610, AKA the inner loop, is about 30 or 35 miles in total length.

The city does have the largest medical center on the planet which includes MD Anderson Cancer Center (rated #1 in world) among over 60 other life science institutions employing over 100,000. The port is ranked first in the nation for cargo tonnage (moving nearly 285 million tons in 2019). While Houston is considered "the oil capital of the world", your description makes it sound like the city is primarily a one trick pony. Generally I enjoy your videos as they are entertaining though I do frequently question the basis of your ranking criteria or perhaps the extent of your research.

Whatever, I've lived in El Paso, Houston, and Dallas, and out of the three the DFW Area on the whole is much better. I moved to the DFW area and never left. There is something for everyone here. I agree, Houston is more fun if your ambition is to fall victim to a violent crime. Houston's crime rate per capita is horrible and it floods frequently in a lot of areas. Stats will support this statement. The crime rate in Dallas has also gotten worse, but they will never catch Houston. Houston has a great food scene, is closer to the beach, and is flooded with good quality museums, and NASA, so it does have that. El Paso is more laid back and slower paced. It's not near as big as the other two. The DFW Area is also home to teams in every major sport and DFW Airport, which is the home base of American Airlines. American Airlines can fly you to just about anywhere on Earth on one hop or less. Neither airport in Houston, nor El Paso's airport can say that.

Lived in that hell hole 40 yrs to long...now live in Louisville Kentucky...not as hot, not humid, mild winter, no traffic jams...fwys are clear by 6pm. No hurricanes, No flooding. Live on the east side and never see a ghetto because the ghetto is very small and located in a very small area on the west side.

DFW metro is larger than Houston’s… that is probably why you might have thought the city of Dallas is more populated

@Kevin Ray Jackson you are obsessed with Houston troll. Houston wrecks DallASS in almost every aspect. I agree Dallas has its pros over Houston but it aint better. You need to travel more and get out of Dallas. Dallas isnt any close for being the best city in the US like you claim. It aint even the best in Texas like PLEASSSSEEE🤣🤣

About 70 to 80 Square miles bigger land wise. Add water it's not even a contest anymore. With the water Houston is about 1000 square miles bigger and Houston has more tall buildings.

@Kevin Ray Jackson I just said DFW metro land wise to be exact is about 62 square miles bigger than Houston. And we do have more tall buildings. All yall got is downtown Dallas and forth worth. Houston has 4 or 5 areas where there is tall buildings. When every thing is lit at night , Houston just looks bigger. I used to live in DFW area
@rollwash4432
@rollwash4432 3 жыл бұрын
@Kevin Ray Jackson I see you haven't done your research. DFW has 36 tall buildings over 350 feet and four under constructions. Houston has 51 tall buildings over 426 feet and 8 under constructions. If you do Dallas over 426, they only have 28. I rest my case.

You missed one of the biggest industries in Houston - medical. The Houston Medical Center is one of the best in the country. And you missed ExxonMobil and HP in the list of companies in the area. West University is not a neighborhood. It's a self-contained city surrounded by the city of Houston. Same with Bellaire. The Metro neighborhoods you listed of Pearland and Pasadena are also cities, not neighborhoods. The city of Houston also goes down into Ft. Bend County and butts up next to Sugarland. To the north, it's not incorporated, but there is The Woodlands. Sugarland and The Woodlands are two of the hottest housing markets in the whole area.

This is the TRUEST statement on this video. Also, those pics of houses at the beginning of that segment isnt Houston. It looked more like Phoenix or Las Vegas. As far as the restaurants, he hasn't eaten here. I think he just looked some restaurants up and featured them. How can you talk about TexMex in Houston and not mention Pappasito's., Really? This is suspect. He did SOME research but there's no way he can give a critique of all of the cities honestly. He is going on statitstics.
