"Shareholders are more valued than customers". Couldn't said it better. I think this is the beginning of the end for Intel.

short, concise and to the point without stoking anyone's ego. Reminds me of the early years of gamers nexus. Awesome video insta subscribed.

If they would have binned more conservatively this wouldn't have happened entirely; that's why some processors are absolutely fine and have no issues. They should have left the voltages and clocks more conservative and allowed for overclocking instead of pushing it in an attempt at competition with AMD. The chips aren't bad at all; but the company who made them sure is shady AF.

Digging deeper into the data that simply isn't true, RPL was rushed and according to "informed sources" the ADL team were already worried about pushing the ring bus voltage. RPL has P-cores and Ring on the same power rail, so high voltage isn't limited to P-core block. There's been i5 and laptops seen with similar symptoms and crashes, so there's no guarantee, just it's in RPL server deployments where crashes and failure to post became common at some hosts with 13th gen leading to Intel replacing wholesale with 14th gen chips that have failed too!

@@RobBCactive The higer binned chips don't require insane voltages (to acheive the frequencies advertised by the SKU) to the ring to because their susuquent VID is much less voltage pushed to the ring. Hence, why some are fine.

@@user-vsmsdos but that point is still undermined by i5, laptop and failures on WX680 Supermicro boards. Intel are also contradicting it with the microcode patch about erroneously high voltage requests. They're binning for i9 with highest frequency, cache & E cores, but detuning hasn't prevented failure rates reaching 100% on Minecraft and the Alderon game servers. Intel have been hiding what's going on, and it no longer looks like optimistic over clocker style power settings and under-volting with management protection features disabled that are only to blame. There's multiple causes of instability, but the memory corruption seen, has been seen to occur frequently outside of desktop.

@@RobBCactive the WX680 Super micro boards have been proven to be using non default poewr profiles. However, that still leads more creedence to greedy binning. Why are some systems completely fine? Because they're running at lower (safer) voltages for their rated specifications.

Informative and well laid out. I agree 100% with everything that was said.

Thanks for mid-night testing and giving a solution path. Re Intel's behavior - I think the company is in decline for a decade now and only accelerating to the bottom.

Quite sad how Intel has been operating lately. I do wonder, is the beginning of the end?

None of this behaviour is new for Intel. It's merely that this is the most current scandal, and it's getting more exposure than usual.

Oh... intel. I like their CPU naming. I know exactly i7 is higher end... H and Q series are higher performance. But now, if this happened... let's buy what is better. And then, they must do better to make money. Which is what they care for. So, we vote with our $, simple.

My guess is that their failure to admit the issues stem from a mixture of desperation and pride. How can the King admit he’s not wearing any clothes. Intel have gotten fat and unfit in their middle age (hmm, so have I) and need to work hard to get back what they’ve lost.
